Good late night food if you're hungry in St Andrews and the restaurants are closed. VERY generous portions.

Nice options for seafood. I had the Mackerel dupiaza. Very tasty & fresh but service was slightly less than average.

When I was a student at St Andrews, my friends and I would order takeaway from Maisha regularly, it was our biggest weakness!

I love that it's not only a restaurant but also a seafood market so if you are just looking to takeout or bake fish at home it's a great option. The inside of the restaurant was nice nothing too fancy but modern and clean. Service was very attentive and nice. We did not feel rushed even though when I booked they had a note saying a time limit. This seemed common at most restaurants we booked in Scotland though so maybe it's more of common place. Overall if we are ever back in St. Andrew's we will be back.

My past experiences with grilled sea bass was that it was dried out, but that was not the case here. It was prepared really well. My daughter had the mussels and was happy with that. My wife had the Tabbouleh Salad with Halloumi and she loved that. Also ordered the Crispy Potatoes with Dill Mayo side and that was very good. Good service and nice environment. Also has a fish market at the front of the store that you can purchase meats to go. Definitely would recommend a stop in here.

After that was complete, we continued to talk around our table of 6 and two hours later, had no food. Finally a number of our entrees hit the table but some were cold, and sent back. Then one in our party received nothing as it was never put in. The kitchen for some reason was seriously in the weeds although this restaurant isn't that big. Once we received the food, for the most part it was good, but chef doesn't know how to run a kitchen. Our bill came out and dessert wasn't even offered as I think they were embarrassed. The bill was wrong with a number of drinks that were never ordered. No one approached our table to offer an apology of any type of accommodation. I finally went to one of the managers and asked why he would make believe this wasn't even happening. He said he was aware of it, and I said, yet you continued to do nothing about it?! I've been in this industry a long time earlier in life and these people are in the wrong business. They failed at every opportunity am no one from the server to management made any attempt to make it right. Top 3 worst restaurant experiences ever ever had.

Very very reasonable dressed crab and fresh lobster. On a sunny day (yup you are in the East Neuk, so these days are not too rare) between Easter and September, come down to the harbour for some al fresco dining. It is a little bit of New England in Scotland! Here is how you tackle the lobster shack. 1. Make sure it is open - opening hours are variable, but usually open weekends from Easter, and in the height of the summer, they are open during the week for lunch. 2. Bring glassware/plastic cups and corkscrew if you are wanting juice/wine 3. Get some cash - they don't take cards 4. Go to the hut and pick your lobster, they are live and will be freshly boiled for you. 5. Whilst lobster is boiling, go to the co-op across the road and buy some wine, bread, salad or anything else you want to have with the lobster/crab - the lobster/crab is just served as is, no lemon or anything. 6. Come back and grab yourself a bench, get your delish lobster/crab which will be served on a glass plate with real cutlery. 7. Enjoy - guaranteed you will! But please, please, don't tell anyone else - this is a really special place, we don't want it too busy now!!

Where do I even begin? This was hands down our favourite restaurant during our vacation to Scotland…read moreand we had a lot of really great meals. First off, the restaurant and the owner were so charming and his wife is also the chef. The menu is quite extensive and the choices were all excellent. It is also vegetarian friendly with plenty of choices between meat, seafood and vegetarian. Even the dessert menu was varied and extensive. I initially planned to do the 2 course meal which was very reasonably priced at £27.95, but when I looked at the dessert choices I knew I'd have to save room for three courses. The meal started off with complimentary crackers and warm homemade bread with hummus and salsa, olive oil and butter. It was a lovely start. For my starter I chose the crab baked cheddar and mustard with salad. It was fantastic, so flavourful and filling and was baked in a shell. I had troubles choosing my second course as the options all looked amazing. I wound up choosing the crab trio which consisted of a coconut curried crab also served in a shell, a crab cake and crab risotto. All delicious, although the risotto didn't resemble other risottos I've had, it was still delicious. I think next time if I'm fortunate enough to return i would try to vary up what I had as I ate crab for both courses. Once our server brought our second course she said she would be right back with our vegetables. Our plates were already full yet more food was brought to our table including mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes and steamed vegetables. I was getting so full! And for the finale I chose the Baked Alaska and my hubby chose the Sticky Toffee Pudding. I definitely won in the dessert choices! He finished both his and half of mine. Be sure to check out this fabulous restaurant when visiting St Andrews. You will not be disappointed. Be sure to make a reservation though!
