I personally had used another well respected surgeon previously with poor results and Dr. Grunch was able to get me back to a pain free life. Also, my wife had had a fall and completely wrecked her neck and upper spine. She also had a poor outcome with a previous Surgeon and decided to enlist Dr. Grunch for help. She was able to, after a seven hour surgery, stabilize my wife's neck and get her out of most pain and give her her life back. If you need a doctor with Dr. Grunch's skills, I don't think you can find anyone and better in the Southeast. She is very caring and concerned about her patience's and the outcome. Also our experience with her staff was always exceptional. Very caring and professional.

Dr. Grunch was chosen because she was the only one who'd suggested a disc replacement surgery wasn't just possible but was the best option based on age and quality of life factors. She was attentive and thorough. Following the procedure Dr. Grunch came into recovery to speak with us. She stated that based on what she found while doing surgery, and was not obvious in the MRI and x-rays, she could easily have gone the disc fusion path, however she kept in mind our discussions, consultations, and the desired quality of life which disc replacement provides better opportunity for better results. Because of this Dr. Grunch took the extra time and effort to stay the course and perform the Disc Replacement surgery. I've no doubt my family member, now 2 weeks post-op and doing quite well, will be much better off as a result. Dr. Grunch is an excellent surgeon and anyone needing back or neck surgery would be wise to make an appointment with her. It took a long time for us to get into see her however it was worth the wait. As an FYI, the two other surgeons we'd seen both recommended fusion and stated disc replacement was not an option...when apparently not only was it an option, but the best path. Dr. Grunch must be an amazing surgeon because there were little to no pain issues whatsoever and zero mechanical issues within days of the surgery. We're very happy we listened to our friend who'd recommended Dr. Grunch!

To be fair, I know of at least one other person who really likes this doctor/office, I am inconsistent in my medical care as a twenty-something and jump around to different offices every couple of years because of job/insurance changes, I was five minutes late for one of my three appointments here, and everybody was really nice and spent a good amount of time with me during my visits. They get one star for the following reasons: 1) On my first visit I told the doctor that I had gained about sixty pounds on birth control, and she told me that it was probably because I had gotten married. Even when I refuted that in a very positive way for a couple of reason, she then talked to me about being on the obesity line and how that was a problem. (I kind of get that because I could have been lying and struggle with my weight, but I have gotten off of the birth control since then and lost forty or so pounds, so listening and shifting my meds would have been at least a nice suggestion.) 2) When I leave this office I get a check in the mail for $25, that I deposit, and then I get a bill for $20. 3) They sent off some of the work that I had done with outdated sample cups, or whatever it was put in- and asked me to come back to have tests done again- who wants to go back and have samples taken again? Not me... 4) I was told twice that they thought I was pregnant- first that they thought I was pregnant and then that they thought I was having an endoscopic pregnancy. That was because I was late and had a pain in my upper abdomen. I'm not pregnant, not trying, and the doctor they told me I should go to about my pregnancy said there was no way I was having an endoscopic pregnancy with my symptoms and the false blood and urine tests. It was just one thing after another with the pinnacle being the mistaken pregnancy issue... and an endoscopic pregnancy is a big deal!

I trust her and her staff completely with my health issues. They treat me with kindess, understanding and respect. Some of my health issues required that I see a specialist. I have been very pleased with all of the doctors she has suggested I see. She is knowledgable and up to date on any issue I might present to her. Leslie B.'s (2/26/2012) comments are difficult to take seriously because she admits, "I am inconsistent in my medical care as a twenty-something and jump around to different offices every couple of years because of job/insurance changes." Her reasons for her bad review were scattered and unsure making it difficult to understand what she was trying to get across.
