BUT scenery park is the besssst dentist I have ever been to (and I've been to more than a dozen). I have had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Basco, Dr Christian, a really cool dental assistant, and their really fastidious dental hygienist (shoot I forgot her name sorry). Dr. Basco is my favorite - she is freaking hilarious. They did some cleanings, a crown for me after I had the pleasure of having a root canal downstairs haha. I even took a selfie with Dr. Basco when they were doing a mold of my mouth....maybe I can find it and upload it later haha. I brought my husband for a cleaning as well. When I left State College they actually sent me a gift card and a kind note which was super sweet - THANKS! If only I could like bring this dental office with me so I don't have to test the waters with some rando...I highly recommend them! I'm not really sure what Nicholas B is talking about because they were ALWAYS upfront about how much my procedures would cost. I actually got a great deal on my crown because of a program they have that gives you 20% off of all services beyond the routine stuff which is covered by the program. It probably would've cost an extra $1000 if I had it done in VA where I am originally from. I really do not think they are truly only in it for the money...they seem to really like their job and talking with their patients. They remembered stuff I told them from months ago and would ask me about how my job is going etc. They also never told me I had extra cavities just to squeeze money out of me which is a common practice for sketchy dentists...

There was a period of time where I, unfortunately, did not keep up with routine cleanings, due to not having dental insurance. Even with all the right home behaviors, I have soft teeth and things happen. I began having complications and needed to be seen. When I heard of Dr. Guisbert's retirement, I panicked. Do I stay and try the new dentist or do I look for another one? I struggle with change in the medical field because it can often take several years to know and trust a new doctor. After much debate and research, I decided to see Dr. Guisbert's replacement, Dr. Pannebaker. Dr. Pannebaker's honesty immediately earned my trust. He was upfront from the beginning, laid out all of my options, and left the ball in my court to decide what was best for me. I decided to proceed with having three root canals. Yes, you read that right - three. His bedside manners are untouchable. He thoroughly explains the process and addresses any questions or concerns. Throughout the procedure, he is quick to tell you exactly what he is doing, what steps are next, and how much longer he will be. Dr. Pannebaker not only saved my smile, he saved my continued trust in Juniata Dental Center.

This appointment was scheduled six months ago. So this means he will go without a visit for 11 months. Add to the fact that they gave no reason why they were moving him so far into the future and when I called to verify (they originally left a message) their office as closed because they apparently don't work on Friday and they never gave me the decency of calling back.

The members of this practice were intrusive with personal space and extremely harsh over minor…read morelateness. During appointments, I had to ask two different dentists and a dental assistant to stop touching and patting me throughout treatment. It was not a single incidental touch, but continuous unnecessary physical contact on my arm or shoulder, which was highly unusual and felt invasive. A hygienist also used my chest as a resting surface for her instruments, dropping tools onto it repeatedly during cleaning. I found the experience physically uncomfortable and jarring. I continued going there for several years because, to their credit, they eventually noted my discomfort in my chart and the unwanted touching stopped. However, at my last appointment I was 7 minutes late because of an unexpected domestic issue that arose as I was leaving the house. I called ahead to let them know. When I arrived, I was told they could no longer see me as a patient because I was "always" late, which was simply untrue. I had often arrived on time and had also waited 20 to 30 minutes for the office when it was running behind, including one occasion when the wait was closer to 40 minutes. What felt especially unfair was that I was never given any warning about lateness policies before being abruptly dismissed from the practice after arriving for my appointment. There were no prior conversations, notices, or written warnings in their appointment communications. Being refused treatment and permanently dropped as a patient on the spot over being 7 minutes late was disproportionately harsh and humiliating. A basic courtesy conversation or warning beforehand would have made the situation feel far less unnecessarily severe. Overall, I found the practice disrespectful of personal boundaries and needlessly punishing toward me as a longtime patient.
