the hygienists are fine, if you come here for just cleanings, it's okay. they clean your teeth well…read moreand are friendly do not come here for wisdom teeth removal or any type of operation. they do not offer any kind of sedation regardless of how extreme the procedure is. they told me while i was scheduling my wisdom tooth removal that i could ask for gas to sedate me, and then found out the day of the procedure when i showed up to check in that they wouldn't use any gas at all and the dentist "wasn't trained" to use it. then there was the problems checking in. they had cancelled the appointment without telling me for no reason, blamed it on me, and then had to move someone else's appointment so i could get mine in. they somehow didn't have my insurance preauthorise the procedure before i arrived, even though they had 3 weeks between when i scheduled the procedure and the date of the procedure. they hadn't even started the process, so it wasn't my insurance that was the issue. they were trying to make me pay the full 1,500$ for their carelessness the surgery itself took over 3 hours (my case was difficult, and it was agonising without any sedation) and was from 4pm to 7:30pm. they prescribed me the antibiotics after the surgery had finished, when my pharmacy was closed, and i woke up with an infection the next day that only got worse and made me go to the ER within a day or two. they had to keep me overnight. the oral surgeon at the ER was appalled that they even let me get the surgery done there if they are incapable of doing sedation of any kind, but he did say at least the surgery itself was done well. their care after the procedure was abysmal. i got my wisdom teeth removed (and my infection started) near the holidays, and they were completely unreachable. this is fine and understandable usually, but they never gave me any kind of warning that they'd be closed immediately after my procedure at any point beforehand. they were closed for almost a full week when i was having complications. they also failed to schedule my 2 week post op appointment, and when i tried to schedule one myself they said it'd have to be a month away. tl;dr: don't go here for anything more complex than tooth cleanings. they offer no kind of sedation for procedures regardless of what they tell you when scheduling, and are extremely careless and disorganised. care afterwards is non existent and you're 100% on your own

Advanced Dentistry was one of the few places that were taking new patients and is close to my…read morehouse, so we thought we would try them out. Both my wife and I were seen by some of the nicest hygienists we've ever met. They strike a good balance of making us feel comfortable by talking, but not talking so much that we feel obligated to try and talk while their hands are in our mouths! They always remember something about our work or family etc when we come back and it shows they really do care. I've been back for two crowns, a root canal, a filling, and a mouth guard scan and each time the staff is just so incredibly nice. I really appreciate how they are sensitive to busy schedules and will see you immediately upon your arrival and do everything as quickly as they can. Dr. Kwon was nothing special, but you only get a few seconds with a dentist at a normal appointment anyway so it wasn't a huge deal. My biggest complain is unique to surgery-related issues, in that there is essentially no way to contact the Dr outside of his 3 day work week. In theory you can email him, but he doesn't seem to reply to those. This is an issue when you have a dental "emergency" which might disrupt your whole week but isn't extreme enough to go to an emergency room.

I'm pretty sure that there was a review by me on this practice and several other reviews…read more The other reviews noted that he was expensive and not as responsive to insurance as one might like, but otherwise ok to A-OK. My review noted how relaxed the process was, and how he and his staff were pretty decent people. I'm pretty happy and go back routinely. I think I'm getting pretty good quality care. I'm really a 5 here, but don't like that the reviews disappeared, and am attempting to reflect that they went missing and their thoughts.

Only a tiny portion had been covered by PSU insurance. I knew from past experience that Highmark/Blue Shield covers 2 free cleanings & at least 1 set of x-rays per year. Dental work at Devlin's practice was not fully covered by ANY insurance because, according to his secretary, he doesn't want insurance companies telling him what he can do. When I called the office to complain about the bill, saying that they had misled me to believe it was covered, the secretary said, "We tell patients that we *participate* in dental insurance, but we don't *accept* it." She claimed that the indecipherable difference between these 2 verbs should have been clear to me. This business's deceptive wordsmything cost us hundreds of dollars for a simple cleaning. Unless something has changed in the intervening years, Highmark/Blue Shield does not cover dental work at Devlin's office; they will only give you a slight discount.
