Essentially, I got six…read moremonths and during that time period, Beejay Brooks (my trainer) got me into pretty decent shape from a guy who looks like he's written 1620 Yelp reviews. Give that man a hand! That was some hard ass work. Speaking of work, Beejay had an excellent eye for determining whether you were at peak levels or whether you needed a day with a bit less intensity. He definitely gave a lot of attention to your macros and diet (far more than anyone I've worked with in the past). He's very no nonsense and that's probably not for everyone. If you aren't going to put in the hard work to manage your diet, you will fail and he will let you know it. But if you put in the work, you'd be very hard pressed to find a better trainer in San Antonio (I did work with some of the other trainers at Hasfit and I got to say they were all stellar). Overall, you are going to have to spend some coin (I was at just under $500/month) but when you start seeing the results of that spent money, you aren't going to miss it. You're going to be thankful for the transformative experience as you become fitter and healthier.

In fact, when we vacation it is always a criteria that there most be a gym in the hotel or nearby. This gym day was strictly for weight training. Back in the day, I used to put 6, 45 pound rings on each side of the leg press. As I get older, heavy weights make back my bones creak. Smile. The joys of aging... All I have to say is it took me more than 5 phone calls/ plus showing up to gym multiple times to finally get to owner. I canceled my membership bc owners employee aka friend decided to take away my friends membership based off the past drama she had with my friend years ago (in HS) and my friend was 28 yrs old at the time of the revoking. In short--the owners employees (friends) are the business' downfall. Not sure why? They must hate on their friends success. I could never be unprofessional, especially if it's someone in my circle's business. FYI--since my review coincidentally there have been multiple 5 star reviews all of a sudden. Small gyms to me feel cozy and comfortable like small little boxing gym or something. So if you like small compact gyms also, you would like this one as well. I don't come here often since it's not that close to where I live, but when I do it does the job. 3 ellipticals and a lot of those PreCore machines that are able to work out a few different areas of your body at once. Lots of free weights. That machine that allows you to do pull ups even if your too weak at the moment, by taking off some of the weight for you. Only issue is not much floor space for calisthenics. It's exactly the vibe I look for in a gym: a classic, no bullsh**, weights clangin and bangin, full of people who are putting in genuine hard work. Immediately upon arrival a member helped us locate the owner, Roger, who got us set up with some day passes. That alone blew me away because out here, anyone would have just let us look around lost. I'm getting really bad with names but if she's reading this I want her to know she's so appreciated. Roger was also awesome. He checked in on us once we were settled, chatted with us about what we were doing in San Antonio, and gave us recommendations for surrounding neighborhoods (we were there to check out homes for potentially moving). I always appreciate gym owners who take the time to get to know the people working out with them. It gives you that level of connection you miss out on with commercial gyms. The gym itself is not your fancy commercial gym. It's the same gym it has been the whole time with classic machines, dumbbells, racks, etc. There's plenty of room for a decent amount of people to be there at the same time and still get a great workout in. I'm telling you, if you're in San Antonio, and you want a place where you can put in genuine hard word, go to Joe's. Coming to this gym was hands down one of the best parts of our trip to Texas and I am so excited to go back!
