Studio has only expanded its quality of engineers and gear. This is a huge hub for talent in the Bay Area. I recommend any and all genres to consider recording their next project at Nexus Audio.

I was recording in the same complex as this studio, but had not known any of them. The guy I was recording with introduced me to Chris Paxton as the person who I should be sending my tracks and full album to for mixing and mastering. So, I did. In this process, I realized not only the level of expertise, but the true desire to have the artist he works with are nothing less than exhilarated about their finished product. No matter how many minor tweaks I told him I needed (even post mastering), he never complained, but had it to me as quickly as possible. No matter how many different versions I needed for performances and final mastering, he had them done. If I wanted a certain sound or wasn't quite getting the effect I wanted, never once did he say he couldn't do it. If worked until it was right and found/learned ways to get it done. And never once did he make me inferior or dumb for not knowing the correct terminology when explaining what it is that I wanted or needed for the songs. Due to the level of professionalism, and enjoyment (great personalities and easy to work with) and satisfaction (quality of work and finished product) working with Chris and his associate, Don Reynolds, so much that I decided to continue my recording with them at their studio, Nexus Audio. Nexus Audio has extremely fair prices for not just the quality of their work, but the level of service they offer their clients. I would recommend these guys and this studio to ANYONE. Their range of knowledge, genres, and excellence in customer care is one everyone, from novice to professional, should experience.

Graham (Final Frame) was the perfect fit! He is very professional and readily available for any questions, etc. He has a quicker turnaround for the video which is a bonus, and I really liked that his presence was very subtle (doesn't feel like you're on a movie set with a ton of bulky equipment). He edited a wonderful video (documentary edit), and I feel like I really get to relive the wedding day, and I love that I get to re-watch all the speeches/special moments of us with our friends and family. One of my favorite parts is that he will interview the guests (optional) and you get to hear and see family/friends video messages. It was awesome and really special. I'd highly recommend Graham! He is excellent!

Graham is very responsive and easy to work with. The day of our June 2021 wedding, Graham showed up on time and got right to work. You hardly even know he's there, which is exactly what we wanted from a videographer. He films "documentary style" and gets all the parts of the day that are such a blur to the bride and groom. My favorite thing about his style is the interviews he does with the bride and groom separately and the interviews he does with guests. It's such a nice touch that makes watching the video even more special. Graham is so affordable given the INCREDIBLE work that he does. I can't believe some people don't get a videographer for their wedding as it was such a special experience to rewatch our day through the eyes of our guests. My sister used Graham a few years ago, and I will be recommending Graham to every future bride and groom. His work is stunning, he doesn't interfere or get in the way, and he adds special touches that make the video even more fun to watch. Thank you so much Graham!!

Do not hire Blue Lotus Films for your filming needs!!…read more I hired Blue Lotus Films to make a professionally edited film of a live performance I created. The quality of the film they created was beyond unprofessional. Sarah, the lead of this company, even admitted to me in emails that some of the footage from the videographers she subcontracted was below professional standards. To name a few issues with the video: -whole parts of songs are cut off -bows and speech at the end are missing -there is shaky footage throughout whole video where it jumps off the stage and into audience, audience's heads cutting off what's happening on stage (one of the videographers was videoing "hand-held" instead of on a steady tripod) -there are misaligned end credits with incorrect titles (e.g. "production" instead of "cast) -there are black spots in the video where it goes blank -the sound file was misaligned with video in certain parts -different color/lighting from the 2 cameras that were being used (one is dull and one is bright) -there are missing key parts of the show that I requested ahead of time to capture (both on the phone and in writing) - because of this lack of following direction, there was only 1 camera shooting for about a third of the show. -corrupted files which meant that end of show was completely cut off. After all this, I requested a refund, as the footage was completely unusable, and Sarah refused. Terrible business ethics. If you want a professional video and to work with someone ethical, find another company.

Quick summary: extremely knowledgable, flexible, tailored to my specific needs, reasonable and…read moreaffordable pricing... a music teacher who really cares I feel super fortunate to have found Devin as my piano teacher. I was classically trained growing up but in recent years have been craving to learn jazz piano, especially wanting to improvise. It felt like a far-off dream, but through my few lessons with Devin I have been pleasantly surprised at my own ability, which he has helped me unlock. He truly is so knowledgable and delivers that knowledge skillfully -- as in, he doesn't overload you with irrelevant information, and only relays what is relevant to the current subject we are working on. Devine is encouraging but does not give empty praise -- he is very transparent with his feedback and this feels very effective. He keeps me super engaged -- there is a great balance of theory and explanation / allowing me to apply the theory through playing and answering questions on the spot. There have been moments, especially at the beginning, when I felt intimidated and nervous to improvise on the spot (as this is something I'd never really done before). Devin was understanding of these emotions and created a safe space for me to go out of my comfort zone. These moments of being challenged are super invaluable to me and his method of doing so really suits me. The lessons are paced well for me and feel very tailored to my needs. Devin always prioritizes my questions for each lesson, and based on those, creates a lesson plan on the spot to address them all. I really enjoy the fact that I can ask super specific questions and we can go on tangents about music theory and history. Speaking of music history, I also appreciate that Devin is so acknowledging of the fact that we are playing in the realm of Western music, which is only a small fraction of all the musical cultures that exist. As a person of color, this foundation of thinking is really important to me. I searched for a long time to find an in-person teacher because that was what I was used to, and I believed it would work best for me. However, I realized that the online lessons work perfectly well and I can't see any downsides of them. I think this is partially because I have enough background in technique, so I don't need him to be adjusting my hands / seeing my fingering and all the other physical stuff associated with piano. This being said, perhaps if you are a complete beginner, try to start with in-person lessons with Devin to make sure you have all the basic techniques locked in as this will affect your playing later on. I am used to more structure and rigidity -- my classical lessons always centered around learning a piece and playing it during lessons, with very clear homework. So it took some time to get used to the more flexible and free-form nature of learning jazz piano (and perhaps it is also his particular teaching style). I think it has been an excellent practice for me in self-discipline. However, if you benefit a lot from extreme structure, you can always ask Devin to provide that. I am personally enjoying the challenge of improvisation as my homework! Devin has offered me many tools and frameworks for thinking about piano and improvisation, all of which have made piano feel way more approachable and inviting than it used to. I also marvel at his ability to be so enthusiastic, engaged and creative for each and every lesson. I've had many music teachers in my life and he is one of the best!

I've had many musical breakthroughs since then. Devin is a patient musical guide. His technicality and training helped me to achieve my dream of singing popular songs with full piano accompaniment. I have a deep appreciation for music and my prior music teachers were rigid in their approach, which didn't enable me to grow musically. Devin's flexible, caring approach helped me to immediately tap into my abilities at the keyboard. It has helped immensely that Devin offers remote lessons via Zoom, which make it highly convenient for students living further away. I look forward to more musical breakthroughs with Devin as my guide. Highly recommended!
