Touchdown Tile - Kitchen remodel

Touchdown Tile

We've had a fantastic experience working with Touchdown Tile to re-do one of our showers. Kyle was…read moresuper prompt in responding to our request and got us an estimate quickly. He's managed the project super well, too, so the whole process went quickly and painlessly, including all the coordination with plumbing. And the quality of the work is excellent! We would highly recommend going with them!

Project: Full bathroom remodel…read more I was referred to Touchdown Tile by my co-worker. I initially sent an email through their website to set up a time to get an estimate. Erik, one of the co-owners of the business, reached out to me and scheduled a time to come out to my house. He was able to schedule a time that worked really well given my schedule. He was very professional, easy to work with, and detailed. I really did not have an idea of what I was looking to do with the bathroom, but he offered suggestions and detailed what they were able to do for me. The estimate only took about 15 minutes and the estimate fell in line with the final price. I even made some additions along the way because I was under budget, which was great! A week or so later I went to their place of business to begin selecting the materials, e.g. tile. They had a very broad selection to choose from and all of the selections were reasonably priced. There were multiple ways I could have gone with my selections as I thought their materials were top of the line. I really do not think I could have gone wrong. I utilized other outlets to purchase the fixtures, mirror, a new toilet, etc., and I was able to find some great deals using recommendations from Erik. About a month or so later work began and I met Joe, the project manager. He was fantastic to work with, easy to talk to, and responsive to all of my requests. He really knew what he was doing and was helpful throughout the remodel. If you use Touchdown Tile I hope you get Joe as your project manager...really good guy. The completed tile work was excellent. Oleh, who completed the tile work, was able to level out my floor (the floor was somewhat slanted before). They also lowered my shower and fixed my water pressure issue (I had no water pressure). I was really impressed with how detailed Oleh was and the care in which he set the tile. If you saw what I had before the remodel and compared it to what I have now I suspect you would be very impressed. I highly recommend Touchdown Tile for a bathroom remodel. It was an excellent experience across the board. At some point, I plan on redoing parts of my kitchen and I will definitely be reaching out to them again. Thank you, Touchdown Tile! Ryan N.

It was an A+ experience with John and Above All. He was a great and prompt communicator. The work…read morewas very high quality. Thoughtful and respectful crew. Really appreciated how Eli would check in about all the little decisions and offer simple options that will make for easier maintenance. And the bid was the best overall value. It's stressful to find a good fit for a contractor and I feel fortuante to have found these folks.

See this owners response to my review on Facebook…read more What is hard to believe is that he posted this rude, inaccurate, response, vs just trying to do what should be incredibly simple and proper business etiquette. And he had the gall to discuss my character ??? I said nothing rude or false - he seems happy to do so. Hopefully that alone tells folks something. I have reviewed many businesses as 5 star, including another tile company I have even taken the time to send in letters of appreciation to city employees, etc. ! Remember, there are many sites to post reviews and this is only 'one'! But do note, I will also happily provide a 1 star review for those that totally fail to do the work needed/planned, or in this case, just decide they want an open ended contract that nobody should ever sign, and if you don't agree, drop the whole thing. I needed a bathroom modified as a handicap roll in. Just questioning a clause in his contract that left it wide open for any modifications/changes , even though we had things open and could clearly tell there were no 'hidden' issues, was his reason for deciding not to do the work!? There was never an 'apology' as he stated, but instead he chose to tell me his 'business partner', who he never introduced me or was discussed, had decided he did not want to do this project As an example, here is the last response John sent prior to when I ONLY requested that he remove the clause he placed in the agreement he wanted me to sign where he expected me to agree to a wide open statement that allowed him to bill for anything that may be found while performing the contracted work, even though the walls were open and we could see there was nothing potentially 'unexpected' - e.g. there was no unexpected damage to my home's structure --- Hi Peter, Attached to this email is a revised estimate with new Change Orders or line items you requested included for your project. Please take some time to review the revised estimate to make sure everything looks correct, nothing is missing and no mistakes were made. If you see anything that should be corrected please let me know, if everything looks good confirm that you have received this email. Thank you. John Shar (Owner/Operator) Above All Tile & Stone Inc. --- Instead, he felt it was more important to post his rude response on Facebooki, and my wife WHO CAN NO LONGER WALK was forced to wait for me to find a new contractor, when ALL I ASKED WAS FOR HIM TO DO WAS TO LOCK INTO THE CONTRACT TERMS WE AGREED UPON. - I wasted many hours of my time trying to get the owner, John, to just enumerate in writing what was covered and what was not since we were completely gutting a bathroom and tiling the floors, wainscoting, installing a vanity, etc. After he provided the quote, I accepted it and he had promised he would be able to start doing this quickly as my wife has rapid onset Alzheimer's! Then today, when all he had to do was provide the final contract to sign, he sent a note stating he was not going to live to the contract since he wanted to keep leaving it 'open' where he could find the next thing that 'wasn't' covered , even though we were quoted $12,643.36 for the job and I had indicated this was fine, but I just needed him to indicate this was the 'full' job. He wanted us to commit to the contract but leave it open for anything else they found while performing the work! We already had the plumbing , etc. exposed so there was no question that there were no 'hidden issues', but he then started bringing up 'what if's' about if they found issues with the sheet rock, etc. and those things would not be covered, etc. Etc!!! NO Professional business expects people to just say 'sure' I will just keep paying you for anything you want' when we already have a contract enumerating everything!!!
