Crossfit Geo is totally my style and what I think a great CF box needs to be: 1) Their coaches are awesome. They know what they're doing, have a good grasp of when to push you further or modify your WOD, and beat of all, they're all friendly and very good looking! 2) The equipment is well taken car of and it shows. Plus, they have a bunch of mobility-friendly props lime rolls and balls. 3) For Crossfit, their prices are great and you won't be locked into a contract if you don't want to. 4) The community is great. Everyone right now is encouraged to try the Open WODs even if they have to modify, and mandatory fluo/costumes has been known to happen, just to lighten up the mood and remember that it should always be fun. So why not 5 stars, you ask? Because it's a small-ish box, it also means the schedule is pretty restricted. Other than that, I can't wait to be back once the "medicine ball" that's sprouting out of my abdomen is gone!

They offer the standard group exercises, my one gripe is the yoga times do not work well with my schedule. Speaking of times, I also wish they had longer hours for the weekend, considering that you pay a premium for the Platinum gym. The pool is warm and good for a few laps. There is a sauna by the pool, which is shared by males and females. It is a bit uncomfortable for me because some guys go in the sauna from the pool with their swimming trunks and lie on the benches a bit too comfortably, it just makes me a bit fidgety and uncomfortable. Or maybe I'm just being too much of a prude. In the ladies locker room, there is a steam room but I've found it to be unappealing because I've seen hairs on the tiles. Like most gyms, you get a fair bit of muscly guys who look like they're just there to show off but generally the crowd here is pretty decent. There is a lounge area near the front with iMacs and free wifi. They also have a play zone for kids but I've never really seen any kids in there.

The customer service is prompt and quite impressive. You could sign up for the gym on a weekly basis and cancel anytime. They also have a range of classes like Zumba, Pilates, Spin, etc.. The classes looked like a fun way to lose weight but I didn't find time to stay for an hour after my workout. I love the fact that they are open on weekends too. Only negative I can think of is the Weights area. I don't do weights which is good as the section looked quite cramped and the equipment was quite close to each other.

While the teachers are lovely there are very few poses in the classes and parts of it are too brisk. The final straw is that during the end of each class you are expected to let strangers "massage" you down. They are often also asked to "assist" during other strength exercises. If you do not want complete strangers touching you I would suggest giving this place a miss. Would suggest maybe a small group of friends attending a class.

Liars and cheats. Krystal who is the Assistant manager lies makes up bull which changes every week to squeeze money out of you. Was doing PT 2 times a week and was doing this on direct debit and was then told I now had to pay for multi packs up front- which I ended up doing even though I later found out it was NOT the truth. My PT was lovely but when she left and I cancelled my membership I was told I owed THEM money- even though I gave the required 4 weeks notice in writing. I am owed money by THEM as I was over charged for PT sessions- which had happened a few times, and I was always made to feel like I was trying to rip THEM off when I bought this to managements attention- this happened regularly even when I was still a member. Every time I asked at reception for a print out of the PT sessions I had attended to date and what I had paid for Krystal made up some bogus excuse why I couldn't be provided with that information. One time she was pretending (badly) to use the computer then telling me she couldn't "access the system"- same thing another time when I asked and the "computer was down". I must have called over 10 times and was always fobbed off or given some other stupid excuse. Emails were ignored or I hit the same brick wall and stream of excuses. Was then told they don't actually keep those records- only the PT's do- but they had locked my PT out of the gym and out of being able to access her records as she was leaving- and refused to access them on my behalf. I then got phone calls from head office and threatening letters in the mail demanding more money and threatening to pass my details on to a debt collector if I don't pay them. STAY AWAY!!! YOU ARE BETTER OFF GOING TO F45 OR SEEING A PRIVATE PT.

What's most impressive about this gym is that it boasts some of the widest range of equipment and floor space in the gym industry. There are a lot of classes and personal trainers available. With different membership packages available, your access and price range is somewhat adjustable. The change rooms are nice and clean and spacious as well. Attendance is quite robust and the staff look very engaged and cheery. The whole atmosphere of the gym is very welcoming. I still look forward to going each week and working out.
