Pardon me for simply pasting my instagram post but short on time…read more.. Latest fave Inspirational Female: Mom of 2 wee girls & pregnant w her 3rd @CarlaSconce is obv living an Optimal Mind Body life. She teaches a killer* pilates reformer class @BodyMindLife - my NEW FAVE go to for Pilates & Yoga: 4 locations, excellent selection of classes & workshops* (including my fave - Yin Yoga) & EXCEPTIONAL instructors**. ALL of them have made me smile in the first 3 minutes of class and again while dripping sweat and hitting my edge physically and otherwise. I also LOVE @AzraMustafa (2nd photo). She had me when she opened class: "If you need to go into child's pose at any point in the class, please do. Or if you want to spend the 1st 1/2 of class in child's pose and then go into savasana for the 2nd 1/2, I'm okay with that too." In short, she expertly led a full range of students with the perfect balance of humor, compassion & cheerleading. NOT easy w a mixed level class. +RECO: Sign up for Body Mind Life's ridic monthly all inclusive unlimited (less than $100US), even if only in town for a couple wks. Try all locations (I use Potts Point mostly) and their AM & PM classes. GREAT motivator to get up very early and stay connected to your healthy living while in Sydney. Or if you're just getting back into your fitness groove or trying these modalities for the first time, awesome way to dive in. Do this in any town where you'll be working/staying more than a week. It will motivate you to take more classes, get to know different instructors and to do something daily - the key to establishing new, healthy living habits. *I found out it wasn't just me who felt so as all the women from class were whimpering but smiling together in the locker room post class;) **If in or near Sydney or you like to travel, check out their "Events" schedule: mucho yoga teacher trainings & more... former @ExhaleSpa colleague @SimonPark has a couple of April trainings I'm planning to jump into.

I was absolutely not disappointed -- the space is phenomenal, raised up a level off the street and with a view of Sydney's CBD. The room is incredibly spacious, and well lit; wooden floors and high ceilings. The class itself, with Roxy, was wonderful -- though they do have a tendency to turn the heat up (whether you like that or not is a matter of preference, but I get hot enough doing yoga without needing them to turn it up to 30°C). Either way though, this is a fantastic spot for doing yoga and I'd highly recommend it!

One flight of stairs takes you from bustling Oxford Street to the clean, calm and welcoming home of…read morePreshana Yoga. I took an 08:00 mixed levels class (drop ins are $19; your first month is $49 unlimited) on Saturday morning lead by Rosh. Including myself, the class had seven students so there was no jostling for space among us. The class was a very nice way to start the day. For the most part vinyasas were optional and Rosh - who trained in Anusara - did a great job of building up to an advanced posture (if you dig that sort of journey you will enjoy her teaching).

I'd always pass by it and seen the upstairs from Oxford Street opposite the road. But it was only a few months ago that I came here thanks to a friend who recommended that I try it out. Luckily, during that time, a promo was running that I took advantage of and afterwards, I renewed because Preshana is truly something special. I can honestly say that it's changed my life for the better through the knowledgeable and extraordinary instructors who will challenge you. Yoga is not just physical, it's a whole package: mind, body, and spirit and that's the very reason why I love it! It's not always easy but if you're open to it, this is a space that cultivates change and evokes you to dig deep within yourself and grow from it. Heart Glow by Kelli and Release & Re-align (and other classes) by Vanessa are the ones I highly frequent and recommend. Their style of teaching is different from one another but I adore their individual styles because it resonates with me. But give the other classes and instructors a go. Preshana Yoga is a down-to-earth studio and definitely something I recommend. LOVE | PEACE | BLISS = that's Preshana Yoga for you. Namaste!

I'm not sure how long this place has been open, but I've only recently started going here because…read moreit's the closest yoga studio to my home. I have mixed opinions about most yoga studios varying on the type of yoga, number of classes, and the instructors. This one doesn't have the perfect combination which is why it only gets 3 stars. This place has two rooms, neither of which have the capability of doing hot yoga. One room is great, albeit skinny, but the other has a giant pole running through the room, which makes it difficult to see the instructors. It's actually in an old townhouse type building so imagine that. In terms of class availability, they only have a handful of classes in the morning, afternoon, and evening, but as someone who works late it would be nice to have more night options Level of instruction alps varies. I've had some great instructors, like the one tonight named Dana, but it's hit or miss. I went to one on Monday and we spent an hour talking about breathing and maybe ran through two total sequences. It also seems like a lot of subbing goes on so I just don't think they've cultivated a community yet. I'll keep going here because it is close, but I still think it needs a bit of work.

My class pass was extended beyond expiry, took them a while to respond via email (no contact…read morenumber). But happy that it was extended in the end. Passes shouldn't have an expiry date. Would be more inclined to buy more if there wasn't an expiry and if i could buy in store instead of online (more expensive instore). Overall good place and location. Variety of yoga for different skill levels and offers 200 hrs teacher training.

I've been to this studio twice, once in 2017 & once in 2018. It's in a strange location so if…read moreyou're new it might seem difficult to find from the street. There is a small cafe on the first floor, if you walk around the building towards the right, you'll see the sign & entrance on your left. Go up the stairs. You leave your shoes on that second floor but the studio is on the 3rd. This is a very large studio that can accommodate up to 100 students. There is a large community area with couches and such in the lobby. They sell or rent items such as: towels, mats, water, retail clothing, etc. There are separate changing rooms for men & women however the shower stalls are outside of this area so bring what you need to be able to shower in one location and dress in the other. They provide hair dryers, plastic bags for wet clothing, etc. If you want a lock for you locker, they just need something like an ID to hold as collateral for the usage. They only offer the 90 minute Bikram Yoga unfortunately. The heating system in the room is adequate and the instructors do occasionally open the doors to ventilate. The students here are friendly. You can see that most of them have been practicing for awhile but there are new students too, it's a good mix. The only thing I didn't like about the room is the columns in the middle and the dreary curtains. I think it would be nice to have natural light coming in. I heard this studio was recently purchased by new owners, I met both of them and they were very sweet & welcoming. I plan to return!
