However, our table didn't work so we were directed to go to other tables and the bar itself to use their to make our order. The drinks took forever to come, and the food didn't come at all for about 45 minutes. Our final boarding call came before the food arrived and we had to chase down the server and get our food put in containers to go. The was less than half full. No excuse for this, especially at an airport. Further, when the food and drink finally did start arriving after our third boarding call, it started arriving at the wrong tables because we had been forced to use the QR codes at other tables. By this time, other people were sitting there and it created mass confusion. Overall, an absolutely terrible experience that could've been resolved instantly had the simply taken our order in person. I love the little markets they have here and the sparkling water drink called "Brite Water." It's not too sparkling or fizzy, and it has a nice flavor. The pretzel meal item was pretty delicious and dipping it in ranch was a good idea. The hummus pretzel dish on the second visit was less delicious and enjoyable. It felt more like a healthy snack. That day I was a bit stressed out and the vibe seemed different. Overall I think this is a nice place.

I went here with a few friends, one who was visiting the city for the first time. The food menu isn't extensive, but multiple reviews have mentioned Le Burger is the only item one should order here, so that's what most of us did. Portion-wise it's not the biggest. Quality though? I'd say it's the best burger in the city in terms of rich flavourness. Sure it's not the biggest, but for this place it's the quality that stands out. In addition to the burger, we also shared a beef tartare. It was good as well, somewhat pricey at $22 given the portion size but it does its job as a shared plate. Service was excellent here. Definitely would return for special occasions whenever I have friends over (a bit bougee for me to consider going multiple times a month).

Tip: There are daily deals. If you drop by on a Monday, it's happy hour all day long…read more For the longest time, I avoided visiting this Leopold's Tavern in Osborne Village. It was Papa George's for the longest time. I spent a lot of time here, mainly because I lived in this neighbourhood and worked rotating shift work for half my time in Winnipeg. Papa George's was open until 4 am most nights. I am nostalgic. I also am curious. A couple of Mondays ago, I decided to visit my old neighbourhood and check Leopold's Tavern out. I parked across the street in the parking lot near the Liquor Mart store. You have two hours of free parking there. I don't know if anyone was truly clocking time, as it was raining. I walked into the eatery. It looked so different. A female staffer at the bar said to seat myself anywhere that I'd like. I plopped myself at a table with a good view of the Germany vs Paraguay game in FIFA play. I like that you get memorabilia everywhere in this establishment. The Winnipeg Jets 1.0. A bunch of records with record labels such as Polydor. Various world tours from Styx to Eurythmics. I loved everything about it. My server was excellent. He was attentive and helpful. I got a Coke Zero to start. This place didn't have Diet Coke, so I took the next best sugar-free option. It was cold and perfect. Refills were prompt, which I appreciated. I came here on a Monday. It was happy hour all day. Yay! This place has daily specials. I got a scotch egg that was $6 for happy hour. I saved $3. My server asked if I wanted my scotch egg with chipotle mayo, or zesty mustard, or both. I went with chipotle mayo. The egg came out first. It had panko on the outside. The sausage was so good around the soft-boiled egg. I loved this starter so much. I'd get it again in a heartbeat. I got the braised beef dip as my main. It came with a side. I opted for cabbage roll soup. This meal was outstanding. The braised beef was tender. It melted in my mouth with little chewing effort. This sandwich had swiss cheese, mushrooms, caramelized onion, and horseradish mayo. A toasted ciabatta bun held everything together. I dipped it in au jus. It was so flavourful and perfect. I loved my cabbage roll soup. It tasted like a deconstructed cabbage roll in a lovely broth. It was comforting and yummy. For dessert, I got creamsicle churros. I love creamsicles. I love churros. This combination could not be bad. The orange and vanilla sauces on top of crispy churro bites were amazing. It came with whipped cream. I had a bit of it, but wasn't necessary. The sauces worked their own magic. I paid with a credit card. I tipped. I tapped. I was done! The washrooms are in the same spots, but look different. The women's washroom was clean. No issues. This eatery is open till 2 am. It's still decent if you're working rotating shifts, or like a late night bite after a concert or sporting event. I'm glad I dropped by. I had a wonderful time reliving old memories of a past eatery and making new ones by having yummy, creative, good eats. I'll be back to try more items off the menu. (289)
