Riding with Next Adventure!

Could not recommend this company more - I'm a wedding coordinator myself, and I have also been a bridesmaid as many times as that chick in 27 Dresses. I've worked with some really sketchy travel companies, and they can absolutely ruin your day. Next Adventure Tours is totally the opposite of that. Great buses, friendly drivers, prompt, safe, and clean. If you need transportation for your wedding or your wine tasting weekend, you're with the right dudes.

Because of our schedule we could only do the afternoon tour with two wineries, but it was still a great experience. The second winery was especially wonderful -- they clearly knew Rick, the service was warm and welcoming, and you could tell everyone genuinely enjoyed what they do. The first winery was beautiful, although the service there was a bit slow. What really stood out was that Rick went out of his way to give us recommendations for things to do afterward, which made the whole day feel very personalized. Overall, first-class service and a great experience. Highly recommend!

Tours can always be a little daunting but our experience was 10 stars throughout the entirety. We actually wished there was more time! We toured 2 wineries & went to an olive oil/lavender farm where we were able to munch on some snacks. We even made custom charm necklaces at this stop! There was something for everyone on this tour. Expect scenic views, great wines, & a beautiful experience through and through. Rick offered a flexible pickup, was kind, and extremely knowledgeable about wines and the surrounding areas of Santa Ynez without being pushy at all. As a group of 3 girls we felt totally safe and I would 1000% recommend this tour to friends & family!! Thank you Rick for the great time & memories of a lifetime!

It is not cheap by any means. As it is behind the Home Depot, it kind of feels like HD built a whole bunch of crappy garages for these wine makers. On top of the location, the town of Lompoc is no great shakes, and there is not much to see toward that end. Some locals from the SLO area [& others] do appreciate the fine vineyards that are represented here. They are lighter, generally grow in cool moist conditions, and appeal to those who tend toward Pinot Noirs [e.g. - Ampelos]. While it is a bit fun to check it out, tastings grow to be quite expensive if you even think of tastings at 20+ rooms. You should do your tasting research before you get here to get an idea of how to narrow it down. You can also check each place for the variety that you like and narrow it down that way. I like wines that are grown in the moist areas of Santa Rita Hills, Santa Maria, Southern parts of Edna Valley, and Pinots from Monterey. For some reason, the drier areas near Paso do not grow grapes that I usually desire. Since Lompoc has little in the way of great eats, you are better off in Los Alamos, Buelton, or Solvang. You can find better accommodations there to. If you really want to taste good wines with a nice views, you need to head north to Edna Valley, where you can finds decent eats & accommodations in Pismo Beach or the Five Cities area. They even have a tasting tour bus or two. If you do want to hug the coast, you can go up thru Orcutt and pass Vandenberg AFB. Please obey all speed limits since the military base has their own, nice, but firm police force on the roads near there. It is easy for someone to speed on the near vacant scenic roads & then get a ticket. It is not possible to visit the AFB, unless you have a military ID. Once in a while they do spectacular launches from the AFB, which you can even see from the Central Coast Beaches ranging from Guadalupe to Pismo Beach.

She was great with our son who ordered a charcuterie board and entertained himself on the comfy chairs. Then we enjoyed the mixed red/white flight. The building itself is beautiful -- the architecture, the wood and artwork details, and the overall aesthetic have such a natural elegance. What made the visit even better was how genuinely warm and welcoming everyone was. The staff made us feel right at home, and that kind of hospitality really makes a difference. We especially loved the seating area just off the patio, with the fire glowing and comfortable furniture. It was such a cozy, inviting spot to relax, enjoy the surroundings, and take our time with the tasting. Our tasting host Daniella was fantastic. You could tell she really knew their wines and genuinely enjoyed sharing that knowledge with us. She was engaging, thoughtful, and never made the experience feel rushed or overly formal. I love when someone can share their expertise in a way that makes you appreciate what's in your glass even more, and that was certainly the case here. And the wines? Absolutely worth the visit! We enjoyed tasting our way through the Chardonnay, Reisling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc as well as additional Reserve options. Each added something to the experience, and it was a pleasure to sit back, savor the wines, and enjoy the moment in such a beautiful setting. For me, Hilt Estate was about more than just a wine tasting. It was the combination of the beautiful space, the warmth of the people, the cozy fire, and a host who made the wines come alive. Everything felt thoughtful and genuine, and we never felt like we were just another tasting appointment. Hilt Estate is definitely a place I would recommend and happily visit again.
