I even purchased my own router to keep it reasonably priced and they made a "crossover" and tried making us pay more for THEIR PROBLEM. 5G 1 gig internet? +$10. got your own router? Always liked this business and no problems with them in the past but something must have changed. 2003 to present and I'm going to have to find a different provider. Was being charged 90.00 a month for internet when-for months-the rate had been lowered to 70.00. I was never notified of this nor was my bill ever adjusted. I had to call to find out and only then did they lower it. I called because I didn't want to pay 90.00 a month for internet anymore. Had I not done that, I'd still be getting billed at the unfair higher rate, even though I've been an on time paying customer since 2003. Of course they won't credit me with over paying the months I did so... bye bye nex-tech. I feel I can no longer trust you. read more

For the most part, internet speeds are as quick as advertised. I will say, though, after having used them for several years now, they're not quick to update equipment as their technology improves. I had issues for several weeks and through many calls to tech support and replacement of my own equipment, the issue was only resolved by a tech visit who found the problem to be on their end. I replaced my existing equipment when I didn't really need to. The service call fee is an effective deterrent to service calls but it shouldn't be. My biggest complaint, however, is with billing and customer service follow-through. First, this is a tech company but their website, online billing and payment systems are a disaster. The account login is separate from the billing login but there seems to be no practical need for account login if not for billing. To make changes to the account, you must call. To make it worse, they've changed billing services twice in the last year. Additionally, Nex-tech seems to pass the buck, holding up refunds and their own contractual obligations. They will disconnect your service and require a deposit if you fail to uphold your end. I've fought a refund of my deposit for months and received a response that they'd "dropped the ball" and it would be issued in another week--three weeks after I was told it would be issued, but 4 months after it should have been issued. A contract is a contract. As a company, they could do better. They just don't. Had I not called at least seven times, they'd still be holding over $300 of a deposit I was entitled by contract to have refunded. Beware when paying a deposit. It's not as simple as they sell you. read more

Terrible business practices. Tie you to a contract for no reason. They want us to pay $3,600 to get out of a contract. That would be a fair outcome if we were going to walk out on the contract. However the new owner is more than willing to fullfill the contract. So in other words they want to charge both of us. If i pay the contract they will charge the new owner the same as they charge us. Larceny is not a good business practice. read more

The best thing about this company is their product, which at best is only average. What truly sets them apart is their people. These are some of the rudest, laziest, unintelligent, not caring people in Kansas. They must only hire people from Hays. From my install 5 years ago it has been horrible. The installation guy was too lazy to do the job right, left the house a mess, and I had wires hanging everywhere. Called customer service to complain and received even worse treatment. Totally rude. I can't tell you how many times I've used their stupid support articles from their website only to find the instructions to be incorrect and inaccurate. I'd call the "help" desk only to receive a bunch of S#!t from them. One girl said "There's nothing wrong with them, they've been that way for years!" I finally was able to stimulate some of her few remaining brain cells to have her walk through the instructions. When she saw the problem, she said "Wow, I never really read any of these." Obviously no one cares as their yelp page is devoid of any activity. read more

Do not do there tv now. You will be disappointed. We can't watch shows we record without it stopping. We have had it for a year and a half and it works less than it works. If there is something you want to watch go to a neighbor or friends house. We are switching back to eagle. Just hoping a this saves some one a headache read more
