Pulled Pork Flatbread

Not enough wait staff. Sat at 7pm, ordered drinks at 7:15. Drinks came 10 min later. Still waiting for apps at 7:45. Tooo long. Dinner and apps came at the same time 8:10. Food was good but not great. Been here before but larger party and same story. We won't be back. This was NOT the waitress fault but rather a lack of help. She had 8 tables. This is a management issue not a labor issue.

BlackBerry sage margarita- no ice, no muddling at $14

As a local, year-round family, we were looking forward to trying this spot, but it sadly fell short in several areas. The margarita arrived in a tumbler without ice and tasted nothing like a margarita more like juice poured into a glass for $14. We each ordered a hamburger and while the presentation was fine, the french fries were cold and the burgers undercooked. Our server, who was new and handling the entire dining room alone, was kind and doing her best under difficult circumstances. Out of consideration for her situation, we quietly paid our bill and left a tip without voicing our concerns directly. What made the experience even more disappointing was the loud heavy metal music, which completely clashed with the casual dining environment we expected. What's most frustrating is that many of these same issues, poor food quality and a jarring atmosphere have been mentioned in reviews dating back eight months. It's clear management isn't reading nor responding to guest feedback, and that leaves little hope for meaningful improvements. We won't be returning and would not recommend this restaurant until they address some very obvious and longstanding shortcomings.

It is very sad to me that I feel required to write this review. I (personally) hired Ms. Bartel to…read moredo to courses at my work. It was a gift to my workplace to encourage older people to seek out yog and meditation. The 1st being a yoga class, which was fine. The 2nd was a "meditation wellness"class.... that was a total disaster. There was room for 10 people in the class. The fist class started with 10 people. After the total disconnect with the clients and a general lack of being able to relate her curriculum. People started dropping out of the class. From 10 to 8 to 5 to 2 people for the last 4 out of 12 classes. It was so bad that we had to ask people to attend the class. After paying Ms. Bartel $1,700. for the yoga class and $1,700. for the "Meditation" class ,Ms Bartel was so gracious and kept calling me a "Liar" over and over again because I had to reschedule some of the payments for personal reasons. She proved herself to be unprofessional, rude, and ungrateful. So, if you are looking to spend money on someone who will be unprepared, unresponsive and ungrateful..... by all means sign up for one of Ms. Bartels "meditation class". I will NEVER hire her again and that is sad.

My first experience with yoga was at Inner Quest, and that was about five years ago. From the…read moremoment I walked into the studio, and believe me it was with good deal of trepidation, Mary Bartel welcomed me warmly, and treated me as part of her well established group. My inexperience and neophyte skills made no difference. She was patient and encouraging, and by the time we were on our backs for savasana I remember thinking, "I can do this!" I have been attending yoga classes at Inner Quest, and a host of great workshops on a variety of topics as well, since that time, and I rarely miss a class. I feel such a part of that yoga family that Mary has cultivated and nurtured. The yoga classes are always a wonderful, creative mix of poses both familiar and new, with a healthy dose of yin and restorative poses as well. My skills have progressed in five years, but I always leave class feeling like I've had a great mind and body workout experience. I highly recommend Inner Quest Yoga Studio where, I believe, a challenge exists for all levels of yoga practioners.

I'm sure that the only reason you don't see more 5-star reviews for Yoga Vermont is because the…read morestudents are so blissed out from class that they don't have time for writing Yelp reviews. I've taken classes with both Scott and Kathy, who have quite different approaches to but equally deep knowledge of Ashtanga yoga. Kathy is very chatty and very hands-on (with those who wish it), with plenty of compliments and suggestions for pose modifications for each of her students. Scott is a quieter sort, and while he frequently offers verbal amendments, doesn't do much hands-on assistance. Kathy seems more apt to encourage her students to modify a pose based on what they need, whereas Scott seems to encourage students to engage the pose as it was intended. (For example, I tend to brace my arm against my thigh during triangle: Kathy would encourage my use of triangle as a twist, wheres Scott recommended I instead brace my hand on my shin so I could reach higher with my other hand. Both totally correct approaches, it seems to me: just dependent on where you put your emphasis.) Whichever approach you prefer, you'll find excellent teaching at Yoga Vermont!

I can't say enough good things about this studio. Kathy is absolutely fantastic; she is my favorite…read moreof any Ashtanga instructor I've encountered. She's down to earth, fun, kind, and patient, and her knowledge of the practice is just incredible. The other Ashtangis were welcoming, too, and so inspiring :) I began working with intermediate series here last fall and my practice developed so quickly thanks to Kathy, Leo, and Scott. I broke my back in a snowboarding accident only a couple months after I discovered Yoga Vermont and I really missed practicing there --- if you are looking for a studio (albeit, Ashtanga isn't for everyone, but this isn't a review for that!), this is your place.
