Pieces were ridiculous small, when we left we had to go get more food. When the staff member placed the plate in front of my daughter a comment was made ' can we have some steak with that ', this was ignored so I did'nt bother saying anything else. There may have been another 8 people there, so it was'nt busy and just on lunch time, so there should have been steak left.... If you want to drink in the bar, play the pokes, or keno then this pub is fine. But if you want a filling meal, dont waste your money :( Carmel Strohfeld

There's not a lot of options around for food, but if you happen to be around the area for a night or two, do try visiting this place. We ordered yellow and green curries, pad Thai, and pork fried rice. The curries and pad Thai are super flavorful and great choices. Our biggest regret was actually the fried rice. It's decent, but because the curry is so flavorful, it overpowers the fried rice easily. It's all small portions too and a bit expensive. But if you're vacationing, this is a surprising diamond in the rough.

Valentine's dinner…read more.. It was a set menu, good choices, but poor execution. I had the scallop entre, and there was one lonely scallop with a horrible textural crumb, and fatty gelatin base. The barramundi main was nice, besides the potato with pink grapefruit pulp mixed in. Potatoes and pink grapefruit? Yup! Tastes about as good as you imagine - disgusting. The potatoes were also infused with some bitterness that I couldn't place. Some misplaced micro herb. The dessert was a saving grace! Mint chocolate ice cream, raspberry purée, macaron, and chocolate truffle-thingy. We didn't get the jellies that we were meant to, but the espresso was nice. The service was a little here and there. I had to flag someone down to order a glass of wine. We sat with our dirty dishes for far too long before being cleared, but this isn't usual for Gip's. The food and service are usually fab, but on Valentine's Day, they tried to be different and they missed the mark...

The first time was simply in the cafe for a coffee - I had a macchiato, which was full bodied as expected and could not be faulted. As far as wedding venues goes, it's a small room, but the food that came out was absolutely wonderful. The chicken dish served in the wedding was out of this world as far as wedding meals go - especially for the size of it. It was a bit stuffy in the room, but we managed to get the doors opened to allow for some airflow.
