Spent the weekend in Toowoomba, and tried to have dinner here on the Friday night (7 August), but the restaurant was fully booked - much to our dismay. But not to be deterred, we tried again on Saturday night, and were happy to be able to get a table for dinner! Our waitress Sam was fantastic! Greeted us as soon as we walked in the door, and because we were so early (we got there just as they opened at 6pm), we managed to get a table straight away. We were promptly given food and drink menus, and Sam was ever so patient with our many questions about the menu and requests for slight changes to our meals. Our food was served promptly, and each meal was well presented. We each ordered different items from the menu, but each dish was faultless in presentation as it came out, and all looked amazing. I ordered the chicken filo roll as I wanted a lighter meal, and it was divine. Also craving a salad, and the kitchen was able to provide (even though it wasn't on the winter menu) me with a gorgeous side salad and yummy lemon and garlic vinaigrette. And not to be put off, we all each ordered a sticky date pudding for dessert. It was fantastic! A perfectly portioned pudding with the butterscotch sauce on the side, pistachio praline and vanilla bean ice cream. Heaven. Really well-planned winter dinner menu and fantastic service in the lovely old Queenslander that was formerly an antique shop, converted to a restaurant. Loved the ambiance! So pleased with our dinner experience tonight that we're heading back tomorrow for breakfast! read more

This is one of my favourite cafes in Toowoomba! The outdoor patio with water fountain is fabulous for reading my book and sipping a cappuccino. They also have delicious gluten-free almond cookies, which I love. They now have table service, which is a step up from the last time I was here, years ago. The lunches are nice and lite! read more

Good location and a warm Italian/Renaissance theme which is quite nice. Fast table service and good outdoor seating. Coffee - 4/10 As far as coffee goes I don't expect all that much but I'm not a huge fan of burnt coffee. I ended up leaving most of my coffee untouched, some might try to argue it was an Italian style coffee but having travelled all over Europe I can assure you this was not the case. Salmon Eggs Benedict - 5/10 A nice mustard influenced hollandaise sauce, however the eggs were over done. For what you're getting, the price isn't worth it. My dining partner had the pancakes and had nothing but praise for how delicious they were, my suggestion is to try them instead. read more

Chilli and GARLIC Prawns, with Mussels, fennel and shallots pasta. So much garlic it made me feel sick, no taste except garlic. No chilli flavour, no fennel flavour, just garlic. 4 smallish prawns and 3 mussels for $24.90, over-priced and not worth it. I ate the GARLIC seafood, a disgusting meal really. Chef should be embarrassed to serve a meal that has obviously been prepared with too much garlic. Partners Aracini was "okay", nothing special. Over priced meals, wont be back snd wouldn't recommend. read more

I'll be honest - I felt let down by this place. Looking at the location, you'd think they'd be offering top notch food - being right opposite the massive park in Toowoomba, on the way in/out of town, beautiful setting - it's the perfect place for a good feed. Went for breakfast with the family, and was pretty disappointed. Almost everyone on the table had poached eggs, and all of them came out hard. One of the guests on my table spoke up and asked the waiter to take them back because they've been boiled - cooked too long. The waitress came back and said that they're definitely poached eggs, and we had to explain that poached eggs should be runny. I understand the concept that yes, poached eggs can be served hard, but in the vast, vast majority of places, poached eggs will have soft yolks. Further, the potato hash on my dish had... an odd taste to which I could not assign a flavour. I thought I was getting a trace of olives, but couldn't quite describe it. I've had this style of 'hash brown' before in other restaurants, but the flavour in this one really perplexed me. Apparently the soy latte wasn't great either - but not having tasted it nor would I have every ordered it, I couldn't say beyond a doubt whether it truly was a bad coffee. The regular coffees weren't memorable, as I visited the location only a few days ago but have no memory whatsoever of the coffee. On the plus side - they do allow split bills. read more

A REAL pot of tea & Irish Brekkie no less! Ahhh: lovely start to a superb meal of the Rosti - beer root & hash browns done to perfection. As was the perfectly poached egg, grilled asparagus and delicious semi dried cherry tomatoes. The icing on this experience is the friendly, helpful and efficient waitstaff! If I were a local I'd certainly be a regular. As it is I think it's worth the drive from western Brisbane! read more

I've come here many many times mostly for lunch on weekends, but sometimes for breakfast. I have never been disappointed and is absolutely great sitting outside during summer followed by a walk through Queens Park. Only problem is that its popular, so it can be a scramble to get an outside table. read more
