Absolutely fantastic granite company. I bought the most stunning "remnant" from them for $450, and I can't stop looking at it. It was far more reasonable than other vendors. They were professional, helpful and had a great selection. Well worth the drive if you don't live close. They have quite a bit in stock, so you pick what you want, and they matched up the grain to the backsplash. read more

Newport Design Granite - Building Supplies Near Me - Wauconda, Illinois

As others have said, worst customer service ever. Guy came to our house and took measurements and said he would send estimate. After waiting a week or two, I called multiple times. Calls were never returned. I drove to the shop several times and was told he would send me the estimate. He never did. We wasted six weeks trying to work with him and finally worked with someone else that completed the work for us. This place is disorganized and uncaring. read more

Great service and selection. Very pleased with the installation and attention to the details.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Got me in trouble with a good customer, making me look like like I have bad choices for subs....run the other way if you don't want the frustration of dealing with a non businessman read more

Newport Design team did an amazing job for us! The pricing was reasonable, the quality of work was exceptional. The overall service was extremely professional. We purchased Taj Mahal quartzite for our new kitchen and we were on a tight schedule. The measurements were done timely and accurately. The seams were minimal and barely noticeable. Mike was very patient with me figuring out the best lay out using the templates they've built for us to avoid any stone imperfections. Oscar and his team did a great job installing the huge slabs of stone in our kitchen while maintaining a very pleasant attitude through out. We will definitely be recommending Newport Design to all of our friends. read more

Newport Design has been around for a long time and know there business. They have terrible and let me say that again terrible follow thru. No one ever answers their phones or emails. To get an appointment you have to call and call and call at odd times until someone answers and you probably still will not get your issue resolved. I would never use this company again it is not worth the aggravation. read more

I have left this place 4 messages to come out and measure for a counter top I purchased from them 6 weeks ago. No one answers the phone and no one returns calls so it is a less than satisfactory experience.. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Called and emailed multiple times with no response. I heard they were bad about this so I even stopped in and they treated me like they didn't have time for me. Still have not heard back from them... I am definitely taking my business elsewhere. I went to another place pretty close and had a 100% different and wonderful experience than I did at Newport! read more

This place is AWESOME. Great service, great pricing, fantastic results. Mike Oswald is the best!

Amazing workmanship and professionalism, and great value. Mike went above and beyond in his customer service. His installation team and Oscar were amazing, quick, efficient and so neat with what could have been very messy. They did such great work We could not be more pleased and would most highly recommend. read more

From start to finish this company was great to interact with! The granite choices that they had were numerous and when we stopped by to take a look, their employees were very knowledgeable of the different kinds. The install went like a breeze! The guys were very professional and installed the counters in about 2 hours. They cleaned up after themselves and came prepared. I would highly recommend this company for anyone that is looking for countertops! read more

If, you have a crack in your granite counter top, Newport Design can fix it. Oscar and his partner did an amazing job on fixing our granite counter top. Other, granite businesses said, I needed to replace the whole counter top. The crack was right in front of the sink. Oscar took the sink out, cleaned up the cracked area, replaced the metal strip and glued it all back together and buffed it out. The cracked area looks like new! read more

Lousy customer service. After repeated attempts and phone conversations with "Mike" over past two weeks requesting a quote for granite countertops for kitchen and bathroom, I've no response or follow-up. Company apparently is too busy right now to take on any more business. read more

Mike and his install guys were great from start to finish. Mike was responsive and very informative. We were able to find a great quartz option because of the information he gave us that was much less expensive than Cambria but just as beautiful. I'd highly recommend them. read more

Product, price and selection is great however they lack in customer service.

Mike and his people are great to work with. In Oct. 2012, I found my granite slabs at another granite warehouse and tagged them with Newport Designs (recommended by my contractor Kalweit Construction). Newport picked up my slabs and brought to their site for fabrication. The Newport guys (Rudy) did perfect measuring and templating at my home. I drove over to Newport the same day and we placed the template on the slabs for the cuts. His fabricator had good eye for placement. I had 1/2 slab left over, so traded it for one of their remnants and put that granite in my master bathroom. The granite was ready within a week and the installation in my kitchen and bathroom were both perfect. There is only one seam and the Newport guys made it look invisible. I found the easiest way to communicate with Mike was via testing as he's quite a busy guy. I'm extremely happy with the results and the price; highly recommend Newport Designs. read more

We recently had our beautiful granite counter tops installed and love them. Mike and his crew were wonderful to work with. Mike was very patient with me; I am known for my inability to make a decision. When I finally did our work was complete in 3 weeks! Thanks, Mike, we will be recommending you to all our friends! read more
