I felt the love from the first time I spoke with Jon Redd (one of the fantastic owners), which continued throughout my stay. It was truly magical. Unlike any other rehab. They do so many different activities to help with recovery; breath work, a cold plunge, yoga, a sound bath and so, so much more. The home is beautiful and welcoming and there is such positive energy there, it is almost surreal. It is peaceful and has great views. I felt at home and safe from the beginning. I was always respected and felt appreciated. The therapy (groups and individual) is wonderful. Of course, it gets difficult at times, but worth every tear. Don't get me wrong, we laughed so very much also during my stay! Oh, and the food! Luis is their chef. We ate like we were dining at a fine dining restaurant every meal! Luis is not "just" their chef, he is part of the Reprieve family, so of course, he is another amazing person. I was skeptical about going to an all women's facility up in the mountains, and it was the best decision I could have made! It was so lovely to see my house-mates come out of their shells and become the strong women they are. I made life long friends. I am so grateful that I stayed at Reprieve. So, so grateful. I cannot say enough great things about Reprieve. Thank you, staff/friends for everything! You have changed my life! -Melissa

Three months later at family week we are able to talk, sit on the same sofa, and he's apologized for all that happened and will express love. The family support groups are very supportive. You don't feel like you're all alone or that your child is the only one. The staff on the therapy side have been very communicative and supportive in putting in place plans to advance. The kids even enjoy just about all of the staff when they are being honest. I've seen kids go from being alone and unable to communicate to being able to communicate and hold themselves accountable. They also have a school program the kids are enrolled into so they do not miss any school. This also helps parents work with the school to get this type of treatment paid for when insurance will not. The one thing I wish was better was communication with the medical professionals. We have been trying to get to speak to the doctor about changes in his medication and it's been impossible even with the therapist seeing them a message each week during the weekly session. Overall we have been down this road before but this time it seems like he's actually getting skills and progress that will last.

While there were aspects of my time at Youth Care that were useful for me, my overall experience was horrid. In February Of 2001 my parents where at their wits end and talked to an educational consultant who recommended this facility. I was skipping school, running away, and in and out of psychiatric hospitals. My parents hired a bounty hunter company to surprise me in the middle of the night in my bedroom while I was sleeping, handcuff me, and put me on an airplane headed to Utah. This was a direct recommendation of the Youth Care facility. I was at this facility for 2.5 years. The treatment team "didn't feel comfortable" graduating me. In the summer of 2003 the treatment team told my parents "there was nothing more they could do for me." Three months later, my parents finally pulled me out. I developed a very hopeless and pessimistic attitude towards my future and my life while in this place. Phone calls were monitored and staff would hang the phone up for me if I wanted to talk to my parents about anything negative having to do with Youth Care. I roomed with skinheads, violent kids, and other troubled youth. One of my most vivid memories was a scandal involving one of my friends and a staff member who made my friend walk naked in front of him at least a couple times. In addition, there were two different instances I was made aware of where 2 separate adult male staff members groomed and sexually pursued a 14-year-old female patient, and in another case of 16-year-old female patient. In both of these cases, the staff members were fired when the scandals were brought to light, but no legal action was ever pursued against these offenders. It seemed to me at the time, and still seems to me that Youth Care didn't want that sort of publicity. I believe that they tried to keep it hush-hush as the police where never involved/called but the kids affected (my peers) had to meet at least once with lawyers representing Youth Care privately. I developed unhealthy eating habits which turned into an eating disorder that I still have to this day, and a life long resentment for my family for sending me to such a awful place. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I have gone through years of family counseling with my parents to get to a point where we can communicate effectively and lovingly again. When someone asks me how my high school experience was, I don't have much to say, because I felt like I was in juvenile prison, as my experience at Youth Care was very similar to that. Lastly, I would like to point out as I am looking through these reviews that it is apparent to me that most of the positive reviews of Youth Care are paid promotion. That's right, you can pay a PR company to leave positive reviews for your company to offset the many negative reviews from actual patients. -David

I contacted him letting him know I have had major issues sleeping & my Therapist who Nick knows well reccomended muscle relaxers & get off Benzos. He would not give me 30 seconds to discuss it. Knowing I was changing insurance, I agreed to pay $200 too see him. I went without muscle relaxers & went to my normal sceduled appointment. I was told instead of $200 it would be $200 plus $100 for each prescription written after 2. I had 4 prescriptions & wanted to add muscle relaxers. Drop the one Benzo. I was still looking at $400 for the visit. He did not have the balls to even talk to me in his office or reception area. It went back & forth between his wife/secretary, she was whispering so soft in the reception area so waiting patients could not hear how they were trying to SCREW me, I could barely hear her. She never called back after saying she would. Nick cannot talk to you face to face. I now have a real Dr., who truly cares. Visit them both & you will see night & day. Money hungry jerk, or a professional that really cares. Contact me & I will give you a Dr. Who cares. It has taken 7 Doctors since my Doctor retired due to cancer, none as bad as Greenwood, but I finally found one. Dont take this lightly or his bullsh*t. Get one who cares, they are out there.

After several intake discussions via phone with Kris, an admissions counselor at Maple Mountain Recovery and Wellness, my daughter decided to admit to Maple Mountain Recovery and Wellness. I paid the $2200 bed deposit based on the information received during these phone calls. Within 24 hours of paying this deposit, my daughter and I travelled across the country expecting her to admit to a detox house for 3-5 days. Detox was required because of a drug she was prescribed by her psychiatrist for many years. My daughter is suffering from mental health issues. She does not have a substance abuse problem. When we arrived, and before any other information was obtained , the detox requirement changed to 5-7 days. We decided to tour Maple Mountain Recovery and Wellness before admitting to detox. While Kris from admissions was very personable, he gave us false information during our initial phone calls. He stated on these phone calls that during my daughter's stay at Maple Mountain her therapist would be physically present with her during ketamine treatment. When we toured the facility Kris told us that the therapist would see her 24 hours after therapy. Having experience in mental health treatment, this was a major setback for my daughter. Also during the tour it was discovered that male and female sections are loosely separated. Again, a major issue. We were mislead prior to the scheduled admission and decided to not admit. We didn't have a level of trust or comfortable feeling about the level of care promised. I requested a refund of my "non refundable" deposit based on the fact that we were mislead. I spent more than $2000 in last minute travel to admit to this facility which couldn't provide the services promised. While I believe Kris supported my request for refund, ownership denied my request for refund of the bed deposit. If you or a loved one are considering admission to this facility please know that it is not a facility that will do the right thing, it is very loosely run and doesn't have established therapy protocols. I speak from experience because unfortunately this would have been my daughter's fifth admission to an inpatient facility. Please be sure to tour this facility and ask very specific questions and even then know they will not do as promised nor do the right thing!! Side note: there was at least 4 open female beds at the time of our tour. Our bed deposit didn't keep anyone from admitting to their facility!!

Every worker here truly cares about you. They ask usually about everyday how each person is doing (normally in a group setting) and always are asking how they can help. They do multiple fun or enlightening activities a week such as making candles, sweat lodges, salt caves etc. If you need help with something as well, they will help you. I needed to move out of my apartment and a worker drove me there and we spent 6 hours packing. You're not a prisoner here. They don't set an unrealistic timetable on your healing. They only help. If there's anything I would potentially warn people about it would be this; they don't force you to do anything at all. Seriously, not anything. So if right now you need someone to force you out of bed, tell you to leave your room, or make you take some medications, then you're out of luck. You need to be a certain level of independent before you come. This place changed my life for the better and saved it. Thank you to all the people who work here

Every staff member I had contact with was helpful. I think it would be so hard in this industry to not become jaded, but they seem to maintain a level of genuine interest and caring that I was honestly surprised with. Dave was my therapist and was awesome. He's one of the owners, but rather than sitting back, takes a very active role in everything that goes on there, including individual therapy with clients. He was a great mix of fun, professionalism, and genuine caring. The group meetings and instruction from staff members were always very interesting, and supportive. I learned a lot and benefited from being around such empathetic people. Not quite as important, but still nice- the facilities were nice, clean, and well maintained. Unfortunately, throughout the training, I have experienced increased hip pain. Then, last week, I injured my Achilles heel while rushing somewhere in street shoes. I was emotionally gutted since I only have a month left until marathon day. I was also disappointed that my pain was preventing me from skiing on our long planned ski trip to Park City. As soon as we arrived in Park City, I did a Yelp search and chose Dr. Lester based on the positive reviews from other Achilles injury sufferers. Whereas no other Dr. has been able to pinpoint my hip pain, Dr. Lester was immediately able to hone into my troubled spots and target them with acupressure. He then continued with acupuncture and I began to feel all the troubled areas begin to release. In addition to spending an extensive amount of time treating me, Dr. Lester also made sure to listen, counsel and explain his methods to me. He even recommended precise dosages of over the counter supplements that could help my conditions, without trying to sell me anything. Dr Lester is the most intuitive, caring Dr. I have ever visited and for the first time in a long time, my hip pain has subsided and my Achilles discomfort is no longer noticeable. I look forward to hitting the slopes this week and returning to my marathon training. If you have any kind of pain, I strongly urge you to make an appointment with Dr. Lester. He is the best acupuncturist I have ever been to (and I lived in China for 4 years). The money I spent on the appointment was well worth it.

Dr Lester is a miracle worker. - Herbs: I was very sick to my stomach over the holiday, and Dr Lester made an herbal remedy that I took with water as a hot tea, immediately taking away my nausea. I'd recommend this to anyone with nausea issues, whether chronic or not. - Massage therapy: I have a relatively high stress job, and came to Dr Lester while sick over the holiday, not only to get the herbal remedy, but also to get one of his very unique massages.
