I contacted him letting him know I have had major issues sleeping & my Therapist who Nick knows well reccomended muscle relaxers & get off Benzos. He would not give me 30 seconds to discuss it. Knowing I was changing insurance, I agreed to pay $200 too see him. I went without muscle relaxers & went to my normal sceduled appointment. I was told instead of $200 it would be $200 plus $100 for each prescription written after 2. I had 4 prescriptions & wanted to add muscle relaxers. Drop the one Benzo. I was still looking at $400 for the visit. He did not have the balls to even talk to me in his office or reception area. It went back & forth between his wife/secretary, she was whispering so soft in the reception area so waiting patients could not hear how they were trying to SCREW me, I could barely hear her. She never called back after saying she would. Nick cannot talk to you face to face. I now have a real Dr., who truly cares. Visit them both & you will see night & day. Money hungry jerk, or a professional that really cares. Contact me & I will give you a Dr. Who cares. It has taken 7 Doctors since my Doctor retired due to cancer, none as bad as Greenwood, but I finally found one. Dont take this lightly or his bullsh*t. Get one who cares, they are out there.

If you are looking for somewhere to continue your care in recovery or get back on track without having to go back into inpatient treatment, there are some great places that are set up similarly, but with Physicians who are doing this for the right reason, and care so much about their patients. I hope this helps anyone considering to go to this place,and I hope that you stop and reconsider, and end up under the care or someone compassionate who cares about YOU and not your wallet.

I asked staff (JEN) if I could bring the pie in for the client. Jen told me no, went behind the wall and laughed with coworkers. I understood the policy and listened. But once I got inside for visitation, it was very obvious other family members brought pie, pizza, cake, etc. I find it extremely unprofessional when there is not consistency especially when clients are at your mercy. I felt the love from the first time I spoke with Jon Redd (one of the fantastic owners), which continued throughout my stay. It was truly magical. Unlike any other rehab. They do so many different activities to help with recovery; breath work, a cold plunge, yoga, a sound bath and so, so much more. The home is beautiful and welcoming and there is such positive energy there, it is almost surreal. It is peaceful and has great views. I felt at home and safe from the beginning. I was always respected and felt appreciated. The therapy (groups and individual) is wonderful. Of course, it gets difficult at times, but worth every tear. Don't get me wrong, we laughed so very much also during my stay! Oh, and the food! Luis is their chef. We ate like we were dining at a fine dining restaurant every meal! Luis is not "just" their chef, he is part of the Reprieve family, so of course, he is another amazing person. I was skeptical about going to an all women's facility up in the mountains, and it was the best decision I could have made! It was so lovely to see my house-mates come out of their shells and become the strong women they are. I made life long friends. I am so grateful that I stayed at Reprieve. So, so grateful. My son had a very strange reaction to the ketamine on his last appointment. It was just not set up like a professional clinic. Dr. Himstree, still, I liked and was very knowledgeable about what he was doing just the set up not good. We never went back until recently when I called inquiring to start my son back up again. Had several different calls over there in the last 3 days. Someone different every time. Deborah was the worst. Very rude, unprofessional and would constantly talk over you when you were in the middle of telling her some thing. This morning I asked a simple question, "do family members get a discount for having a family member as a vet?" She replied "are they the one coming in to the clinic?!" I told her no but I thought I was told the day before by someone else that a family member could get a discount if a close family member was a vet. She said "NOBODY TOLD YOU THAT!!" I snapped back that "someone certainly did, do you think I just pulled it our of thin air??" she said it again, said the same thing! This lady is off her rocker! I said "I have to go" in which SHE hung up on me. I have NEVER talked to anyone whose scheduling clients, (and mind you, for a type of treatment clinic like this is... people who are calling to get help with severe anxiety and depression etc; )are being treated this way??? I spoke with a woman with an accent as well a few days ago that took 5 tries to just get my email right. It was exhausting trying to even have a conversation with her. When I asked Michelle the NP about the urine testing that they do as we've never had to do that before and in calling around this is not some thing most of these clinics do unless during intake the doctor feels suspicious about the person and feels a need to. I spoke with 6 clinics today, highly rated that said that don't do this. I told her the clinic my daughter has been going to for a year has never done this. She said "aren't you worried!" NOPE! Michelle was very defensive right from the getgo, instead of asking questions and even trying to understand I'm not! as this is not normal practice. unless you have a druggy looking person walking through the door(you can usually tell, it's obvious). But that unprofessional comment back and rudeness of these people. I will NEVER EVER go back there. PLEASE LOOK AT THEIR REVIEWS. PEOPLE ARE SAYING THE SAME THING! The Deborah lady who is the receptionist is a real piece of work and needs to be gone. She is not helping this business. Thank God we saw who these people working there were for who they are. My son who was going to get treated was sitting by me when I was talking with Deborah and when I hung up said "it doesn't sound like a very nice place mom, I don't want to go and I'm not giving them a urine sample like I'm getting drug tested, this is weird". We are going to another clinic that is almost half the price!! And so kind and compassionate. I like Dr. Himstree and hope he can get this group figured out working there. He's a very nice person but my goodness, run if you are looking for a team of compassionate caring and professional people!!! This isn't it. It was shocking.

Newport Academy provided an experience of care that had been lacking in previous programs my son…read morehad attended. My son received excellent care and I was reassured he was safe and making connections and gaining coping skills on his journey to improved mental health. Newport set realistic expectations in that my son's path towards improved mental health would be a journey of ups and downs and includes the engagement, healing, and work of the whole family, not just my son. Therapy is not a one size fits all, one and done solution. There are also resources, support, and learning for the parents, too. I found the parent groups to be helpful, supportive, and validating. I am immensely grateful to Newport for the care they provided my son.

Sending your child away is never an easy thing, especially when you are having to give up all trust to someone else, in raising your child. Newport Academy has good therapists and a central goal to help with family healing. We felt communication was excellent and while our daughter still needs long-term care because of her diagnosis, Newport continues to support us as parents past her discharge. The parents support groups are a great way to vent and learn.
