Over a year later I'm still disgusted by the experience. Not sure if I got this treatment bc I'm a single woman. Workers left doors for hours open in summer after they were told several times not to do that and tons of flies got in my house and the air conditioning wasted. They left empty bottles and trash. The work did take days so we endured those creeps for days. I believe i bought extra baseboards which they kept. I paid for materials, baseboards, etc separately from labor at home depot. The workers disrespected my kids in the house and complained to brent and brent blamed my kids. Not all workers were horrible but the rotten ones ruined the whole barrel. Although i promptly and a lot after each job, i felt treated like it was it was charity work. It was awful.

We are just as pleased now as we were then with the quality of workmanship done on the remodel. It even held up superbly during 2019's summer of earthquakes! The workmen are respectful of the house and, while they came and went freely, they never wanted to be in the way or to inconvenience us any more than they had to. They are family men who are kind and courteous, work hard, and do it all day every day. The work site was clean both physically and in language/demeanor of the workmen. When we looked for licensed contractors for the job, we narrowed it down to 3 who were within about $1500 of each other for the same job. Working with Marilupe was a dream! A female contractor had the very best measuring tools, communicated clearly and as frequently as needed, and was very thorough. When we requested to get cabinets through a local company rather than regular suppliers, she happily began that partnership and the whole job was coordinated and finished earlier than anticipated and with great quality products. Don't be afraid to ask for something if you want it! We're still thrilled with everything and how it was installed. I recommend them to everyone I know looking to do some remodeling!

This was an extensive renovation to make the home handicapped accessible. All upgrades to meet current bldg. regulations were done to include new windows, electrical, plumbing, and insulation throughout the house. New A/C & heating unit was installed. Solar was installed. The craftsmenship on the install of the flooring, cabinets and trim are outstanding. The stucco was patched around the windows & doors and the exterior was painted. The whole interior was painted as well. Essentially, we have a new home. Marilupe & Jose were so good communcating issues that came up and coordinated the work so it was done in a timely manner. Their scheduling of the subcontractors and inspectors kept the job progressing. I'm so proud of the job that JCJ Chavez Construction has done to my home that I wanted to share with others so we can continue to support our local businesses that make our community thrive.

I've worked with many different cultures and have used a translator app to do business if needed, so I have no issue with English being a second language, I just need to state that its nice to sometimes not have to pull out my phone to communicate. I needed to replace my front load washer and dryer with a top load one. Miguel was up for the task. When he investigated the connections, he noticed that the hoses needed to be a different size. Without hesitation he knew what to do and said that he will need to go to the hardware store to obtain the proper fittings. He returned, connected everything and wanted me to test all the settings to ensure I was happy with the work and functionality. I tested both devices and with zero issues. He was thorough and easy to work with. He understands that if something doesn't need to be replaced, he won't just replace it, just because it's there.
