Having been a Haligonian for the past year and half, I became a giant fan of the Freak Lunchbox…read morethere, especially their milkshakes on a hot summers day. So when I decided to move back to St. John's in December and heard that they were opening another location here, I was beyond excited. Its equally as great as its counterparts, the selection of candies and gadgets and gizmo's are beyond amazing, especially in St.John's where alot of this stuff is hard to come by unless you stumble on to it or it comes from a big-box store. The staff are gracious and friendly and a lot of the times they're singing and dancing right along with the music, its a great atmosphere, a lot of places need to model their customer services schemes on Freak Lunchbox. So much bulk candy to choose from, a lot of us 20-somethings can be taken back in time to our childhoods (I know my boyfriend as already tried to improvise Soda-licious from here). There's also Wonka Bars and British Chocolate/Candy to choose from. Also who doesnt like Bobbleheads? Only one minor complaint, they need to brush up on making milkshakes! But i'm sure once summer comes they'll get lots of experience making them!

There are lots of tables. The sound level ideal as it was pleasant and yet we could have a conversation without feeling conspicuous. The sandwiches were delicious. I swapped half my roasted vegetable sandwich with my wife who had a turkey with avocado sandwich. They were both very good. One thing was that the bottom of mine was soggy but that happens. The turkey sandwich bun was not at all soggy. We enjoyed our drinks and sitting and watching the people go by. The staff were friendly and helpful. You wait for drinks at the counter but they bring food orders to your table. That's a great way to to it as it doesn't take nearly as long to make drinks as it does food. We were walking so I can't comment on parking. I'm sure they have WiFi but I didn't check. I highly recommend Coffee Matters because they've got what I like.
