This place is only open Friday and Saturday but it has a wonderful happy hour each day from 7-9 pm with half off everything. Great selection of liquors and flavors. Their cocktail menu has really unique seasonal creations. Large downstairs but cramped dance floor upstairs. There is a second bar upstairs and one on the patio. You can play beer pong here. Normally enjoy coming here but last night while waiting in line a white bouncer walked up to me and grabbed my pants without permission to see what material they were made of. I asked him what was going on and he said they couldn't let me in with the joggers that I was wearing. The other bouncer said it was okay and let me in. After entering I ran into a white guy wearing cotton sweat pants and a t shirt and asked if he had any issues getting in and he replied no. After looking around I noticed a number of non black customers wearing sweatpants, shorts, t shirts, and various sport team jerseys. At that point I realized who they were keeping an eye out for and promptly left. I am gainfully employed, hold a masters degree, and felt that this level of discrimination was biased and uncalled for. read more

Newcom's Tavern has become my favorite Happy Hour goto spot. They have a happy hour every weekend and everything is half off. I am an avid PBR, Miller High Life drinker so I love any place that has either one of those selections. The PBR is on special right now and is regularly listed at $2.50 but during happy hour the PBR is only $1.25 yeah a BUCK TWENTY FIVE!!!! So I had to indulge in a couple of them this evening. OMG!!! How did I forget to mention, this PBR is not actually in a can ITS ON TAP!!! I would highly recommend tasting the Rum Runner or any of their signature drinks because the individuals around me were loving everything that the bartenders made. I had the pleasure of also meeting one of the weekly DJ's and he was incredibly friendly, we exchanged cards and hope to check him out soon! Newcom's is a hidden gem. Tonight I was physically assaulted by a Security Guard. I was trying to get downstairs from the VIP and he physically grabbed my arm and pulled it out of socket. He assaulted my Husband when my husband asked him a question about the rules of Renting the VIP for $400.00 a night and the security guard didnt like the question so he told my husband to get out of HIS bar. Then all the sudden 4 security guards came and made my husband leave but wouldnt let me leave so I was being held against my will and thats when I tried to get downstairs to leave I was physcially grabbed and held back so I wasnt able to leave. They held me against my will and could have really hurt my arm. I am on Chemotherapy and now I am sick as hell in pain on my arm from some lame Security Guard wanted to be tough with a woman. I am seeing an attorney tomorrow. I sure hope that the cameras were rolling upstairs!!! read more

Corny and inconsistent dress code, corny and obnoxious DJ, everything else is average... skip and go to Hole in the Wall or Ned's instead!

Very clean and modern bar in the Oregon District. They have recently renovated the lounge area upstairs and added new furniture and flooring. Security is very friendly and makes sure guests are safe and enjoying their evening. Awesome happy hour until 9 and the bar staff is the best in town. read more

I'm giving this a 2 star rating just because I'm in my 20's and it was mainly older people. So if you're in your 20's, don't go. Other than that it wasn't too bad. They had a beer pong tournament. They had booths and they had an upstairs bar with a dance floor. But it was really sticky on the floor. That's all I really have to say.. read more

My FAVE place to go in the Oregon district. They have a huge bar outside on the patio for summer. The staff is great and friendly, and I love that the dance floor is upstairs (with its own bar) by itself, so it has a bar and a separate club atmosphere. GREAT place for drinks and fun!!! read more

This is the best bar/club in Oregon district always a good time, I would recommend this place to anyone looking to have a good time dance maybe play some beer pong or hang out on the back patio. STAY AWAY. The bouncers in this place are beyond pathetic. At the end of the night they took advantage of drunk girls, flopping their boobs around and taking them to the girls bathroom. When we confronted them, they kicked us out and God knows what they did to the girls that were beyond drunk. Sad to see that those that are supposed to keep you safe, taking advantage of intoxicated girls, regardless of if they wanted the bouncers or not. read more

I love this place!! Staff is friendly and courteous. Gets VERY busy after 11 on the weekends. My friends and I love hanging out on their patio and having a drink at their new bar in the early evening. read more

Newcom's would have received 1 star, but they do have a pretty decent back area with pool/darts. The crowd isn't QUITE as obnoxious as Ned Pepper's or Sloopy's either. Also, unlike the other two, the dance floor is upstairs, which makes the entire experience just a tad bit better. read more

Is there a negative option? The man at the door was rude and the dress code was childish and inane. I don't come to bars to act like a pretentious prick and be surrounded by the same. I want to have a good time, with good people, and good drinks. If a buddy isn't allowed to wear a plain white tshirt and is kicked out for doing so, the place isn't worth it. If you want a real bar with great atmosphere and great, down to earth people you, go to Blind Bobs right next door! Newcomes is a joke and pretty much a trap for pretty girls to be gawked at by the drunken, poorly skilled bartenders. read more

This place was the worst place I've ever been to. When we first arrived it was dead, so we thought we'd give it a try. After being there for a couple of hours and spending a decent amount of money we were taking pictures of the beer pong tables. Well apparently your not allowed to take pictures in that establishment (not that a sign is posted anywhere). They then grabbed my friends jacket and made her delete ALL of the pictures off of her camera. When they were confronted about the situation they denied any wrong doing on there parts and they acted real cocky about it. So don't waste your time or your money in this place read more
