We got a dirty chai and bagel to share - Asiago bagel with cream cheese to be specific. Dirty chai was huge and really good, very ginger-forward. I liked the eclectic-ness of the mismatched tables and chairs. The beer menu looked great too - had a Threat Level Midnight stout (ode to The Office). Very community oriented with lots of fun events presented on the bulletin boards. Will check out beer next time in the area!

I wished I had ordered the Pasta Primavera as it was the single best Primavera dish I have ever tasted. The serving would have been enough for 2 but I was so full from my exceptional salad I could only take a few bites of the Primavera dish. Dennis was kind enough to share the Primavera sauce recipe with us - so simple and yet is the best ever. This is definitely a jewel if you are traveling and need a great meal, reasonably priced and super friendly. It was an exceptional experience and a place we intend to visit again.

Sunday in Basalt, Tuesday in Glenwood Springs, Fridays in Eagle and at the Carbondale Saturday Market YEAR ROUND in front of Crystal River Meats right off Main. Not only do they sell a large variety of organic produce, they also sell numerous regional foodstuffs like pasta, coffee, dairy products and more. Osage Gardens has a really flexible Community Supported Agriculture program. Most CSA's just give you a box of whatever produce they have on hand, Soviet style. With Osage Gardens, CSA membership is more like a gift card. You can buy whatever you want from their farmer's market locations or at the farm store and the amount is deducted from your share, along with a discounted price. Rather than dealing with the hordes of wealthy mountainistas who descend on the farmer's market like locusts to buy choice ingredients for "dinner parties" (whatever those are), we prefer to take a nice drive out to New Castle and buy directly from the farm store. CAVEAT EMPTOR: If you do not use all of the money in your CSA account before the season is up, it is forfeit. They do not allow it to be applied to the following season! Also, there are several other options to buy produce and starts in the New Castle area off I-70.

Can't wait to try everything. Then... The total came to just over $140. One hundred forty dollars! Huh? How? What? The food was good. Everyone liked their breakfast sandwiches. The doughnuts were delicious. I was told the coffees were decent. So if it wasn't for the mind-boggling price I paid, I'd definitely go back, but factoring in the price, on principle alone, I just can't justify it.
