Chef Dennis Silva guided our dinner experience. This was the first night dinner was offered at the restaurant. I had salad with chicken breast but my wife had the Pasta Primavera. I wished I had ordered the Pasta Primavera as it was the single best Primavera dish I have ever tasted. The serving would have been enough for 2 but I was so full from my exceptional salad I could only take a few bites of the Primavera dish. Dennis was kind enough to share the Primavera sauce recipe with us - so simple and yet is the best ever. This is definitely a jewel if you are traveling and need a great meal, reasonably priced and super friendly. It was an exceptional experience and a place we intend to visit again. read more

Stopped in for breakfast on Tuesday - it's a cute little restaurant with a cabin feel to it. There was one server for the restaurant, and still service was very good. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, the breakfast pork tamales and some type of egg scramble with pork. All of the meals were fresh, hot and tasty. Will definitely stop in again when I am in town. A wonderful spot! We stopped in Newcastle just to come back and eat here after having visited last August. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, with generous portions and the most attentive service. When we left, our car wouldn't start and one of the gentlemen who run this restaurant generously helped us get the car started. We have eaten here a few times and the service was always good. This time we were met by an older guy that greeted us with "I'll be right with you I guess". There wasn't a sign that said wait to be seated and no one was at the front door. Last time we go here. We got up and left before ordering. A few years ago we tried this place a couple times and it wasn't very good. We took time away from here but a few months ago, we gave it another try and to our surprise, it was great! The service was fast and friendly, the atmosphere was good and the food was delicious and plentiful! We have been back several times since and it's just as good or better as the last time. Not sure if it's new owners, managers or cooks but they have definitely fixed things! The prices are good, especially for the amount of food you get! We will probably be back in a week or two! Stopped here for a quick bite. The service was great. The food was decent. I did really enjoy the spaghetti style hash browns! My croissant sausage breakfast sandwich was very greasy to the point where the croissant was soggy. This place was amazing. I hate to sound like a snob, but I love going to Vegas and eating at all the high end breakfast restaurants out there, the breakfast here surpassed that. It was so good. I don't know if they were having an off day yesterday or the quality others have spoken of has declined since they last went, but our experience was sourly disappointing. Wait staff (3 that we could see) for a small venue were not coordinating with patrons/each other and the kitchen presumably was disoriented and unqualified: We arrived around 11 AM to have a hometown breakfast they are known for. Getting us seated and drinks was as expected. Right away I should have suspected an issue. Daughter's chi coffee was not mix well and we were not offered water. Shortly after we were served our drinks, a patron outside came in from where he and his guest were and just wanted their water as they were served none (neither were we) and inquired about their order. 30 minutes in after ordering, we had no waitress come to check on us and only after flagging one down were they to check on our meal (note: gentlemen outside still hadn't been served either). 45 minutes later we were preparing to just pay for our drinks and leave. People next to us were upset and asked for their check as they had been waiting for an hour and they left. As we were getting up they finally brought us our food. My daughters vegetarian skillet was missing almost all of the vegetables except for over cooked spinach and no cheese. Her eggs were not cooked correctly. They forgot one of her pancakes, no syrup was offered and she had to ask for butter. Her pancake was raw in the center. Wife's and my food literally looked like slop. It looked like they dumped someone else's canceled order on my skillet meal. They forgot my toast, no syrup for the pancake I ordered (which I did not touch) and most of the fried potatoes were swimming in oil and undercooked. They got mine and my wife's eggs correct, which was the only part of the meal that was edible. We asked for our check (they comped the drinks as they had just did for another family that was leaving for a similar situation and left). For a small town, reputation is everything. I understand staffing situations; it's problematic everywhere. If this was the case, they should have let patrons know they are short staffed and wait times would very. But honestly, even if that was the issue. Still doesn't excuse horrid food. My suggestion as someone who worked in the restaurant industry: condense your menu (too much!) especially if qualified people are difficult to retain. Train your wait staff to work as a team, monitor patron body language and pay attention to your tables - communicate with each other and your kitchen. Lastly, fire your cook before you folks get sued. read more

This breaks my heart. We have come here many times when we visit Silt. This has been our go to place. The service has seriously deteriorated and the food is ok. I would come back for the food but can't deal with the service again. We were there 4 days and 4 of the 4 were terrible. One day I asked for my biscuit that was suppose to be with my order 5 times! Finally one of the children working there got it for me. I get that help is hard to find but something needs to be done here or they will continue to lose customers. One group got up and walked out after being ignored. So very sad. read more

When I say I love lazy bear I mean it. They have such good food and the whole restaurant gives me country vibes and makes me feel wonderful. The food is absolutely amazing and the employees are so kind! The owner of the business was so kind to serve me with pleasure! I talked with him a lot and he is so kind! They have the best employees! What a wonderful surprise was this little restaurant for me and my husband when we received 101 percent great service and freshly prepared food by Chief who knows what he is doing. His son was our gracious host so positive, smiling and eager to serve. We were wondering if food was so good because people who made it were so awesome. I had eggs perfectly made to over easy style with bacon and hash brown potatoes. Hash brown potatoes were not over greased and were very tasty. I cannot forget to praise their coffee. It was made just right. Good tasting coffee is important for me. My husband had huevos rancheros. He was very happy with his meal. If I had to describe our breakfast at Lazy Bear in one word, it would be 'mediocre'. My husband and I came here on a Saturday morning, and at 8:30 we were the only customers in the place. My husband ordered the green chili steak skillet, and I had the southwestern eggs Benedict. Our food was delivered quickly, but the payoff was not worth it. My husband's skillet was bland, and nothing noteworthy. My eggs Benedict was alright, nothing spectacular, but the home fries had no flavor at all. They weren't even salted.
