First- what a cute name! Tiny little SC town with a couple of fab antique stores right next to each…read moreother! I found a few items- but my big find was a large crock- I am thinking it was early 1900's- but I had never seen one with a grip handle on one side and a loop "finger" handle on the other. It also had a wonderful blue stripe around the shoulders of the pot. I snagged it as a gift for a fellow potter who is building a new studio and gallery and wants a museum portion representative of the area and the generational potters in the region. Yes- I am a big ole weirdo squatting down to turn giant pots over to look for makers marks or signatures. Turning it around checking all over for any identifying marks. 1800's and 1900's American pottery was largely unsigned, which makes it extremely difficult to track heritage pieces. Anyway- I gave said crock to my friend and she was so delighted! I believe the coffee shop has a separate listing- but that is also a wonderful perk to this shop- coffee and treats on site! And yes, you can take your coffee around the antique shop! Thank you to the lady who carried that huge pot up to the front for me!
