We celebrated my sister's 60th birthday at the Newark Pavilion. From my first call to Paul to inquire about the facility until the last moment when we left after the party, Paul and his staff were all so accommodating. The room was huge and could comfortably seat all of our guests, with a small stage for our DJ, plenty of room for a dance floor and a Photo Booth. The bartenders were fun and made great drinks! We just had our wedding at Newark Pavilion and it was awesome . Paul was such a cool guy and easy to work with. He answered all our questions and made the process easy for our coordinator. The hall itself was huge with plenty of parking. We had no issues during the event! The bartending was smooth, the space was great , plenty of stalls in the bathroom and great kitchen space. We had spoken to Fabio ahead of time and he made sure the bar was fully stocked with everything we wanted to make it a successful night. I'm a bit late writing this review, but I highly recommend this venue for your next event! I have hosted both of my daughters' Quinceanera and I can't say enough of this place! Paul and his staff are great at customer service. From the beginning to the end it was effortless. It made the process enjoyable. All of my guests enjoyed the party. The venue is elegant and classy, immaculate. I booked both events in the main hall and all vendors had access to it as agreed with Paul. I held a large event in Hall #1 for a surprise birthday party. Paul was amazing and so easy to work with. I had John helping me the day of, and he was very patient and helped bring out all the tables and chairs, and helped me with whatever I needed. I had to get security because I requested the bar to be opened; however, the security didn't speak any English. I had to have my caterer translate to be able to communicate, which was difficult. Also, the security guards grabbed cake and food without asking, and was on FaceTime with someone recording my event and showing our family pictures to whoever was on the FaceTime call. Afterwards, Security even asked to keep a center piece! I found it very unprofessional. Overall, I recommend the Newark Pavilion for events. They just need to get professional security and either have security that speaks English, or have a translator on site. It's troublesome not be able to communicate with the security team. Keep in mind, I paid $300/guard and both guards didn't speak any English. read more

This review is long overdue! I chose this place to host my sister's Quinceañera this past January and I am so happy and pleased! Booking and planning around the venue was a breeze. Paul, the manager, was so easy to work with. He is very straight forward and told me everything I needed in order to book and presented me with all my options. Paul was super helpful and even made suggestions, was flexible and worked with my vendors. He told me he would do his best to ensure our event was a success and it sure was! They offer 2 event halls (detached) in the same parking lot. They have a huge parking lot by the way, which is great because that was one less thing I had to worry about. The main hall, which we used, is beautiful on its own without decor. It's big, spacious, has high ceilings, very clean, beautiful chandeliers, a full kitchen, a separate women's and men's bathroom with plenty of stalls, and best of all a full bar. I worked with Paul and was able to arrange to start setting up/dropping off items the night before. The day of, Paul and team made sure everything went seamlessly. The hall was open at our agreed time. All of our vendors were able to come in and set up with out any issues. The party ended at 11pm. All of our vendors came in shortly after and started picking up their things. We were not rushed to get everything out which I greatly appreciated since I was tired at the end of the night and had lots of things to load back in my car. Overall, I'm very happy to have booked my event here. Pricing was fair. Management and staff were great. They were easy to get a hold of anytime I had a question. The location was very convenient. We booked the hall for our sons celebration of life this last Thursday. These guys are awesome!!! They were so professional and accommodating and the pricing was fair! Outside of the business aspect they we so sympathetic to our situation. This hall is huge, clean, and beautiful!! Paul provided us the access we needed to set things up since we had a huge day the next day for our sons services. John was so friendly and helpful! Our family loved the staff here and we were all ranting about how much great service we received. I don't know how to really put this nicely. I came here for an event. The event itself was great with a good amount of attendees. With the venue we would assume it would be ok to walk around the other buildings and take photos. No. That is not the case. At first the staff at this event said it should be ok just taking pictures since...well we are just TAKING PICTURES. After 10 minutes into shooting photos, the security kicked us out and told us we were only able to use the Hall that our event was being held at. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and done. We were pretty much being watched not to wonder off to the other halls. Honestly the venue itself was already bad. What made it worse was that they limited us to where we could stay. If I was the event coordinator...never book this place please. read more

This place is part of my family history. All kinds of Mexican and Latin bandas and grupos played there back in the day(and still do) so when my dad and his cousins and his friends danced there when they were young. My cousin got married there some years ago and yesterday another cousin was married there. It seems remodeled since the last time I was there. Now it looks much nicer. It's too bad other patrons have had bad experiences. My cousin and his bride hired one of our favorite Peruvian restaurants to cater so it was a treat to watch the chefs flambeeing chicken in the kitchen. JUST RUDE! I've been here plenty of times for concerts, and other functions that involved alcohol and large crowds, however, what happened there on Saturday, June 12th is just horrible. Let me get to the meat of my post... Ok, so I was invited to a wedding there, and as a former bartender I fully understand rules and regulations owners have to abide by in order to maintain a liquor license. This is NO excuse for demeaning behavior of the owner, security and police officers towards wedding guests. Someone attending the wedding thought that paying $5/beer was too much so he decided to bring in his own 24pk of Buds. while not respecting the contract's specific rules about not BYOB, they shut the party down completely. I mean, I was getting ready to put my dancing shoes on!! They never offered guests an explanation of what was going on, they also never offered the wife and groom time to let their guests know what was going on... NO GENERAL WARNING went out. All of the money that goes into planning a wedding for some idiot to ruin it, and to add insult to injury the owner, and the security had nerve to call cops and flat out lie and say that everyone was drinking in the parking lot. UGH, I really can't stand when people take advantage of others. I can, and possibly will- call ABC myself and explain how Myself and a few others were being served alcohol and were never asked to show our id's. Even the teenagers were getting beer at the bar. If they really were concerned about keeping their license they should have practiced better procedures..... Really though.... read more

The workers are super rude, especially the red dyed haired lady that sells flash games. The games are literally TWICE as much than any other bay area hall. And there are not many regular games. We rented the Newark Pavilion for our wedding earlier this month. I've been to this hall many times and since they last renovated it, the hall looks beautiful and is well kept. It's very spacious and the decor is neutral, yet elegant. We had 350 people at the wedding and everything went smoothly. WARNING!!! DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! My wife and I were married this past summer and I would have to say that the workers here came very close to ruining our wedding day! There is this lady who is a real b---h who we had never met when we booked the hall, yet come the day of the wedding here she was with this big head and stuck up attitude saying that she ran the place. This lady and her crew do not know how to treat people and were very rude. Can you believe that on the day of our wedding this woman was arguing with us, the wedding couple?!!! It is a good thing that we had our contract with us because this lady in the morning refused to open the side room to the hall for the caterers to setup in, at the hall when our guest were first arriving she also refused to open the bar at the time that was already agreed upon, and to top it off this lady turned on the lights and tried to kick everyone out at 10:00 pm when the music was suppose to stop at 11:45 pm with our venders having all the time they needed to clear out! I was told later that the reason the lady tried to end our party early was because she wanted to get her people in so they could setup early for a baptism that was scheduled the next day! It was only when we showed this WITCH our contract that she would shut up and storm off without so much as saying sorry! Now, my new wife and I are pretty laid back and are not like other couples who feel entitled to special treatment, but I must say that on this day there was no reason for the treatment that we received!!! So if you want your bride in tears and more stress added to an already stressful day then this place is for you, if not then save your money and more importantly the headache and go somewhere else!!!! read more

I called to get a quote for the facility rental and spoke to Mary on the phone. She was incredibly RUDE and it seemed as if I was wasting her time. She quoted me $3,000.00 for the #4 hall but told me she "doesn't like to quote prices over the phone". Basically she wanted to sell me the hall, but i've been there countless times. She was incredibly unprofessional and should seriously consider taking a class on properly conducting business. Very disappointing. read more

I am an event planner for a dance group. The venue is so important for a successful experience. The items that are necessary for that to happen are a good air conditioning system, great floor for dancing, dance space once the tables and chairs are set, access to kitchen, ice and refrigeration. And most important the management must be on top of things with advice, response and onsite assistance during the event. Well, all of these things hit the mark. Mary Xteriera, the manager, was attentive, responsive at all times throughout the year of planning and took your event serious. I got text messages with idea, changes in set up and input because she was thinking what would be best for our event. We had 184 dances and 5 staff. With 19 round tables leaving an opening to enter the dance floor we just fit. It was close but still comfortable. The sign says it will fit an unheard of number of people. Put for comfort please use our experience as a better assessment. If there was no dancing them a lot of folks would fit and that is for certain. Paul and Christina, along with there son, were onsite at all times. They were responsive to any need within minutes of asking. Examples: finding certain lights for ambiance, ice, access to closest door for load and unload and set up of tables and chairs (rounds were extra and worth it, rectangles available as well). Mary showed up to make sure the beginning went as planned and showed up during to address the group and express the thanks of the Pavilion for our patronage. Is all of this cheap? No! They will ruin your night and even close down your party. Great way for them to make money, I'm guessing that's how they stay in business, by stealing your money when they shut down the party early. I have been attending camera shows here for several years and recently became the owner of PhotoFair. I held my first event at the hall as owner a week ago. The people who run the hall did a nice job of setting up our vendor tables. The hall is priced reasonably and the people I worked with are pretty nice. People should expect to leave a message and have a return call later that day. This has been consistent and I can work with that. If I have a complaint it would be that the bathrooms (men's room at least) are of marginal quality (Hall 4). None of this deters from the combination of good parking, nice large hall with a fair price and a friendly face to greet me at 5AM when I setup. read more

We had our daughter's Quinceañera on 8/27/16 and it was wonderful. We received so many compliments from our guests of what a beautiful venue we had selected. Everything turned out just perfect and the amount of room we had was just great. My husband and I are so glad that we choose this venue, because it was absolutely unforgettable. Mary was extremely helpful and was with us every step of the way. Without her, we couldn't have pulled it through. Her suggestions and ideas were amazing and we have one more Quinceañera for our youngest daughter, which we will most likely hold there as well. What a wonderful experience renting this facility for our charities annual Christmas Party!! This was our first time renting the Pavilion and it was a pleasant experience from start to finish. The property is very well kept and there is ample parking. The hall, kitchen and bathrooms are so clean and in good order. This location is ideal for holding events for our special needs clients, we will be booking more events there. We had over 450 guests and everything ran so smoothly because of the assistance that we got from the Pavilion's wonderful staff! I can't imagine going anywhere else when we want to hold an event in the Southern Alameda County area! read more

My first time playing Bingo here was a great experience. The hall is very clean, the volunteers were friendly and the "Regulars" were willing to help and answer any questions. I like the fact that only one Flash Game is sold at a time and that a volunteer walked around offering every person a glass of water. I have not experienced that at any other Bingo hall.
