Located in the middle of a neighborhood block in the Northwest side of Chicago, the bar has been around for years, but under new management the last few years, it is not is an Irish pub. A large selection of liquor and beers. I tried an Irish cider and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. It was light and refreshing. There are lots of TVs and a jukebox. A no frills, neighborhood bar.

Have some good old fun at this neighborhood divey ass bar. It looks like it's been here for many years: many have come through, and many crazy memories the regulars will blabber about all night long. Newark Nook is out of the way. For sure it's not a destination for those looking for hip bars and clubs. This is a place for cheap drinks and sports. Cheap beer. It only has a few basic on tap, and not much of the local craft beers either. The good thing is the price though. Has quite a bit of cheap liquor. It's about $5 a pour. There's also lots of drink specials. Besides drinking, people like to play the jukebox. There's also a few TVs, so this is a hangout for the neighborhood on game days. Low key atmosphere. There's no bros or those types around here. For sure the neighborhood around it has changed. It seems too upscale for this kind of bar, and this bar is out of place to be honest. This isn't the kind of bar for those seeking the limelight, just a Bud Lite or whatever.

Such a cozy neighborhood bar. Great service and old school bar feel. There's nothing over the top here and I say that in a great way.

Never going back. Bartender was rude, the place smelled, and my beer was old and skunked.

The reason we love this place is because the place is nice and modern with a nice comfy decor, they have an EXCELLENT whiskey and bourbon selection amongst all other spirits, but mostly because of the SERVICE! The staff, from the owner to each of the bartenders, they treat you like a long time friend. The drinks pack a punch and the ambiance is always upbeat. They strive to provide different events weekly and even nightly. They have a back patio for private parties or you can host your event inside. This place is just great, but Uber since parking is street parking and common sense dictates you should. See you there, and let's enjoy a drink!

Have to say it's not much to look at. The drinks are the main thing. Basic looking bar in a mostly residential area. It's the second home for a lot of regulars who live around here. That makes sense. Not a whole lot else is around. Of course they won't ever have to worry about parking. It's about $7 for a basic cocktail. Whiskey and mixed with whatever. Basic. There's free popcorn. Good prices compared to other bars. It's located on Higgins at Major. The closest transportation center is the Jefferson Park station.

(Kari's Rating 7.75/10)…read more TLDR -Delicious & cheap bone-in wings (18 for $22) -Local bar with tons of personality -Personable staff Came with a friend around 8 o'clock, bar was pretty crowded for a Monday with a bunch of locals watching the Cubs game. Not many people were eating, but it looked like a lot of friends here after a long day of work. Our server, Alex was extremely personable and she took our orders right away. As it was a Monday, neither of us were drinking, but she promptly brought two ice waters. I had mentioned to her that I had been here six or seven years ago, and she also said she had been here since. We came here only for the wings as I remembered and 18 wings for $22 is an amazing deal! We got six hot wings, six buffalo wings and Alex recommended the last set of wings be Cajun. There was a group of eight men at the bar, enjoying the baseball game, and I have to assume they're local by the way they were talking to each other and conversing with the bartender. I can imagine this place gets pretty busy on a Friday or Saturday evening with locals. This is such a fun dive bar feeling, with the decor being very mom and pop shop, but it also felt like there was a lot of history here-like people would fight for this bar, not to shut down. You know the space has personality and charm as Alex then chased down a lady who just left to give her her the forgotten leftovers. As our food came out relatively fast, the hot and the buffalo sauces were pretty similar, but the sauce was very thin, so it didn't clean to the wings that well. The wings were fresh and really crispy so you know they were made to order which was great. The Cajun was the absolute best as it was a dry rub, however, I feel like they should've tossed it in butter or something so the Cajun would stick as most of the seasoning had fallen off.

Service is fairly quick and friendly, and you have the option between enjoying the outdoor seating, indoor casual italian restaurant feel, or cowboy bar area. Overall food was as expected with the cheese curds being crispy, though not the most amazing cheese. The Tater tots were crisp and standard. The Spicy chicken sandwich was a good size but not too spicy. The sausage pizza had plenty of cheese with a good level of sausage for the price, with a slightly more tasty sauce with basil and parsley to give a little more flavor. Overall, solid option in the area for a meal, which isn't too challenging to park near.

Though I do advise calling in reservations (and will myself in the future), as they quite quickly filled their main room and with mainly 6 tops or larger. Our waitress, Denise, provided flawless service - she was incredibly attentive, warm, and her suggestions were spot on. THE SPACE: The layout here is fantastic. In addition to their standard bar seating, they have a spacious lounge area with unique island high-top tables, which stand out as an elegant and structurally smart use of the space. They also have the main room where we sat, a secondary adjacent event room (Club 45) for gatherings, and a dedicated space for when they host live music. They had excellent jazz music playing over the sound system when we were there, which added a soothing setting to the evening. FOOD: We started with calamari and French onion soup. The soup's flavor was absolutely delicious, though I did have to send it back because it was only warm on the inside rather than the hot way I prefer it. Denise handled it beautifully and sent it right back, though surprisingly, it actually returned to me cooler than I had sent it away. I also ordered a side of two Diver Scallops, which were brought out prior to our main courses. While they had a great sear, a perfectly sweet, tender texture, and were delicious, the bottoms were unfortunately quite salty, and they were under the standard size at that price point. Our main courses were absolutely spectacular. Even during a busy dinner rush, my Walleye Filet came out cooked to perfection! It was served with an amazing Calabrian chili-butter, a delicious potato and caramelized onion puree, sautéed spinach, and crispy fried leeks. My husband ordered the full rack of their famous baby back ribs, and they were as legendary and fall-off-the-bone tender as advertised. He also ordered the side of the Potatoes Au Gratin to accompany his ribs, which were a rich and creamy blend of cheddar and Gruyère cheese. We finished the night with the Churro Cake à la mode, which was served warm with caramel and vanilla ice cream. It was the perfect ending. PARKING: Parking was a breeze since they have a convenient adjacent lot right next door. Huge thanks to Denise for making us feel so valued even during a busy rush. With so many great choices on the menu, we will definitely be back and look forward to our next visit!
