When I made the purchase, I told the sales rep, who seemed disinterested from the beginning, that I needed a necklace for that night since I was from out of town. After trying both on at my hotel, I decided to wear the rope necklace because the Cuban link style was too short. Today is September 3, and I went back to the mall to return the Cuban link necklace. When I arrived, there was no one at the kiosk for about 10 minutes. Eventually, two women came and assisted me. I explained to one of them that I wanted to return the Cuban link necklace because I didn't like the length. She inspected it, processed the refund, handed me the final receipt, and I left. I then went to the food court to enjoy some pizza from Sbarro. As I was eating, the same woman who processed the return approached me aggressively, accusing me of trying to return a necklace that wasn't purchased at her store. She went on a rant, threatening to call security and accusing me of scamming a small business. She told me that she had voided my refund, claiming I was trying to pull a scam. Then as she walked off I was called a "broke a** n****". I was completely confused, feeling as though I was being punked. When I tried to respond, she stormed off. This can be verified via the cameras in the mall. I cleaned up my trash and returned to the jewelry kiosk, attempting to discuss the situation. However, the woman was still visibly upset and angry. I requested that they review the camera footage from August 31 to verify my purchase, but they refused. The sales rep who sold me the necklaces was present and claimed that she didn't remember selling them to me. Their reasoning was that the clasp on the necklace didn't match the ones they carried. I asked them to show me the clasps on other similar necklaces, and it turned out to be the same clasp. The only difference was that my clasp had a mark on it, which could have come from me trying to open it. They refused to acknowledge this possibility. Instead, I was labeled as a scammer, supposedly trying to cheat their business because others had done so in the past. They claimed the necklace looked worn, even though I had only put it on once to check it in the mirror. After reading other reviews, I realized that this kind of complaint about the necklace's color wearing off seemed common. After about seven minutes, the woman who had processed my return came back and apologized for approaching me so aggressively in the food court. Throughout this process, she and my sister exchanged words because my sister was upset about how we had been treated from the start, and rightfully so. I reiterated that I was from out of town and that I had a similar necklace back home in North Carolina. They accused me of swapping the necklaces to deceive them, I could provide names, but the woman with braids refused to give hers. I appreciated the apology, but I was still unhappy about how I had been treated. The necklace was only $120, which wasn't a big deal; I just didn't need it and was traveling back to North Carolina the next day. Ultimately, they never reviewed the footage. I left with a voided refund and no necklace, as I told them to keep it because I didn't need it. They mentioned it would just go in the trash. I've bought a necklace from them in the past without any issues, but this time was different and disappointing. Please review the footage from today September 3rd and from August 31st. She was able to restring both for less than the previous place's quote for one. She went above and beyond, suggesting a great idea for one, a magnetic clasp! Tumbled glass, shells, polished and rough stones and so much more. This is a little off the beaten path, but located in the cutest neighborhood (watch for the house with blue bottles and elephants!) and well worth the drive. The owner Dolores is so sweet and has been in the rocks and crystals business for 40 years - before it was "cool" and trendy! We can't wait to go back again soon.

My initial experience was not optimal. The store was busy (good sign!) but the gal who checked my jewelry in I would quickly not consider an expert. She asked how much I wanted to tag onto my jewelry while it was in their care. When I told her she turned her nose up and said it sounded a "bit high" but ok. Surely, there's 10 different ways to get me to respond to your question without directly insulting me as a potential long term client with your response. She then asked me if I was aware of the heavy duty $50 fee to appraise my ring. I smiled and said of course, as this was already quoted to me prior to my arrival. Again - it comes down to presentation. Little if any people skills. A bit disturbing. Less than a week later I got a call sharing my ring was ready. Shop was not crowded so I got in rather quickly. The young lady who checked me out was amazing. Very professional and prompt and quickly pulled my ring. She shared which documents were for my insurance and which were for my own records. Upon opening the documents I was more than mildly amused when I saw the appraisal came back HIGHER than what was so quickly blown off by the clerk who checked me in up on my initial visit. Wasn't that interesting....and I was right. She was not an expert. The overall service, delivery and operations are worth the good ratings and I will return. I'm chalking up the insults to perhaps one substandard employee or even a good one having an off day.
