In town on business and as an Elite Yelper I'm always searching for local establishments, so I was thrilled to find this cute little diner. The guys were all welcoming and friendly and even offered to bring my order to my car for me. I went for the lunch special, 2 Greek dogs (coney's with mustard and onion) and a drink. The hot dogs had a little snap (which I love!) and the coney sauce was appropriately spicy with a tiny kick of heat. The buns seemed steamed, which was also great, in my opinion. I also ordered a side of fried mushrooms- wow! The small size was definitely enough for two! But man! Probably the best fried mushrooms I've ever had. Great local place to get burgers, dogs, and gyros. The Greek sauce they are known for is very similar to southern chili. Great prices! Mostly outside dining but we were able to eat inside. I love the vibe of this place. The decorations are so cool and the food is amazing. The "six pack" which is a mix of hotdogs and burgers or you can do all 6 of each one is a great deal for $15. I was more than full afterwards and I was able to take home my leftovers in a brown bag. My favorite between the two is the burger. The specials are a great deal and don't break the bank. Stopped by for lunch. Roger was very helpful and kind. They had a special for 6 burgers or dogs for $9.50. You could mix and match. We ordered 4 hotdog and 2 burgers all with chili and cheese. We also ordered fries. Hot dogs were delicious. The burger was just very very thin and just honestly nothing special. The chili isnt hearty or full of flavor. Fries were ok but not fresh cut. Indoor and outdoor seating plus a drive thru. Prices, service and hot dogs make this 4 stars. I will stop by again but ill stick with the hot dogs and avoid the burger. read more

This was an interesting choice as the pictures were not overly helpful in deciding but the reviews were very good. We took a chance and and a look. There were two gents working and we're both running hard but the wait was brutally long and they really need more help (lost a star). As for the food, it was very good. My wife and I had the burger but it was more of a really nicely spiced sloppy joe. My daughter had the gyro and really enjoyed it. They have tables outside and are dog friendly. They do have bathroom facilities. We will most definitely be back. Hope the pics I took are helpful! read more

Visited NYL on a recent trip to Lake Erie. Pleasantly surprised by this place. It is very non-assuming looking like your run of the mill food stand. The service was super quick and super friendly. There were 3 young men working the day of our visit. They seem to work together like a well oiled machine. They were super busy but remained friendly and courteous throughout our visit. Someone came in with a large order and I overheard one of the guys offering to bring the food to their car when it was ready so they didn't have to wait in the crowded dining room. Okay, so the food! My husband and I both orders 2 dogs, we each got a coke and shared an order of fries. The total was like $12 !! Our wait was minimal and we really enjoyed our food. The dogs were small so we did needed the 2 each. They came with what I think was chili (or a meat gravy) and maybe onions and mustard. I am guessing that is the standard way they come, so you may want to check before ordering, if that is not your thing. What ever the combo of topping was, it was fantastic. The Coke was nice and cold and yummy. Fries where crispy hot and fresh. I loved the dogs and can't wait to our next trip to Erie so we can go back. read more

How am I the first one to review this place? Oh well... I have one word: Amazing. I went here on my way to the beach with a couple friends who told me to stop here for lunch, (I probably would've never done it on my own, it looks like an old shoebox.) And we did, and, amazing! If you're a fan of anything "greek", dogs, burgers, fries.. this is your place. If you're any kind of health nut, this is NOT your place, but then you probably wouldn't eat at a place known for their hot dogs n anyway, would you. I'm told that this greek phenomena is an Erie thing... Let me explain what this is. They take a Smith's hotdog (awesome hotdogs, you try one and your hooked) put it in a bun, and then cover it with "Greek Sauce." This is a mixture of finely chopped ground beef in a flavorful sauce that is hard to describe. Then if you like, they top it with cheese. Amazing. I think the only downside, there's not much of a place to sit. There are only 3 small tables on the inside, and a couple patio tables on the outside. So far, everytime I've gone, I get a seat, but It doesn't seem like very much. I think a lot of people also get their food to go... This place is rediculously cheap too. When you go, you'll most likely see a fluge of lawncare workers and construction workers getting lunch on the cheap. Amazing. read more

I live in a big cosmopolitan area now. I can find anything in Chicago. Anything except pepperoni balls and greek sauce.(pepperoni balls is for another review.) Ok..my adopted hometown is known for a kick-a$$ hotdog. Chicago dogs rock. But I guarantee that a New York Lunch Dog from Erie ,Pa smothered in that delicious greek sauce would definately cause mass defects from the Chicago dog. I go to New York Lunch foe their hot dogs and chili cheese fries! The owner is the only person who makes the greek sauce so you're assured of the same great taste every time.
