People are always quick to leave a bad review but less likely to make an effort to comment on a job well done and that's the issue with giving people the ability to say whatever they want on any social platform. New vision is vastly superior to most of the tattoo shops in the gainesville area. The staff is direct with customers and can seem like it might be "ruff" but, from my observations, always deals with the customer asking broad questions and receiving answers from experienced people only to find out it's not what the customer wanted to hear. For example, "tattoos on the feet fade, if you are planning to have a baby wait until after to get a tattoo that wraps around your waist and stomach so that it doesn't ruin the tattoo, if you have have been drinking you have to return on a different day to get a tattoo". If you want a clean environment for tattoos or piercings then look no further. The prices are always fare and I recommend no place else besides New Vision. I would travel great lengths to always return there and it would take a great deal of convincing to have me go to any other tattoo shop. On a different note, this is a tattoo shop.... not an ihop. Stop thinking everyone that you talk to should be kissing your "feet". read more

Being one of Eric Carpenter's (Proprietor of New Vision Tattoo Studio) International clients I travel 4 thousand miles (from the UK) to get tattooed by him, and can quite honesty say that I would not go anywhere else now (globally) to get my work done. Not only is this guy is an amazingly talented artist but his friendly, funny nature makes you instantly feel relaxed, that coupled with his strong family values makes him a rarity indeed. The studio is an awesome space with a contemporary look and feel, always a good mix of music playing, in my opinion, exactly what a design studio should be. It is immaculately clean as are the artists view on hygiene and safe tattooing practices. You are greeted as soon as you walk in by the friendly and extremely personable reception staff, who are able to answer any questions you may have. To summarize New Vision Tattoo Studio and all the staff are the best in the business. PS - I am very surprised to read any negative reviews on here, I can only assume that this is a tacky attempt at sabotaging what is a great business and a great man by people who are - quite frankly - not blessed in the brains department. read more

My first experience here was a few years back when they fixed my terrible first tattoo I got when I was 18. Since then, I've never gone to another shop. The shop is super clean, they do everything right out in the open where you can see them. I absolutely love how it's decorated, there's plenty of awesome things to check out while you're convincing yourself your hip-bone was a great place to get an "I'm sad and this will make me feel better" tattoo wouldn't hurt even a little. I can only speak on behalf of the work of Eric (which is fantastically amazing, of course, otherwise why would I go back?) but everyone else who works there that I've had the pleasure of speaking with is nice, helpful, and just the right amount of smart-ass. read more

New Vision (off the square in Gainesville) is clean, bright and inviting. I got my first tattoo from Eric a few years back, and decided to go back in December for another. He's been tattooing a few years, and does excellent shading and colour work. I've never been tattooed by Eric's fellow artist, Repo, but I've seen his work, and it's damn good, too. They're fairly priced, fun to be around, and do some damn fine professional work. I'd definitely recommend to anyone wanting ink in the Gainesville area to stop by New Vision to see what one of their artists can do for you! I've been pierced here twice (with a total of three piercings), and have had a fantastic experience both times. The shop is always so clean, and someone is there to help you immediately. Eric pierced me both times, and he's been so gentle and professional with each piercing. They really make sure that you're happy with what you'll be leaving with and take the time to educate you on aftercare. I was comfortable enough to bring my mom here to have her ears re-pierced, and she was just as impressed. I'll definitely finish my ear mods here, and will be happy to do so! read more

The only Tattoos that I am 100% proud of came from this shop. I had an idea, and Eric worked hard to bring it to life into a design that I am in love with. It is hard to find a good artist who can do original art and not just flash. Eric is an artist through and through and everything I have seen come out of the shop from other artist has been pristine as well. Friday I went in to get my first ever tattoo. RepoX was my artist. I told them I had a few ideas and showed them my first. They looked at it and told me honestly that it wouldn't look good within four years. They were very professional with me and were completely willing to find something that would work for me. I went with my second option and it couldn't have been any better. He wasn't mad that it was a very detailed tattoo, and he took pride in everything he did. This place is awesome! I have been going here for years. They are clean, very professional, and down to earth. Ofcource you can't just walkin and expect to get a tattoo within 30mins it takes time and you might have to wait because they take their time to satisfy each customer. They have always taken great care of all my family and friends. I highly recommend them. I've been getting tattooed here for years and will continue to go here for all of my tattoos. Eric is nice & friendly & I know that I can explain to him what I want with just a few reference pictures and he can make what I see in my head a reality on my skin. Came here and got my doubly helix and rook beautifully done by their amazing piercer Bethany! She is super down to earth and so sweet you'll start talking and forget about the needle in your ear!
