The mango pieces were soft and fresh, made to taste sweeter with a drizzle of condensed milk. Small pieces of mochi contributed to elevating the texture even more. Overall, we had a wonderful time each visit and could see ourselves being able to relax and spend hours there. Staff were kind and tried their best to work as fast as they could. There was only a counter, no space for tables or seats, but nicely decorated with Palestinan colours. The compact menu basically offered three types of knafeh: the Nablusi, with semolina; the vermicelli, with kataifi; and the madlouka, with eshta and nuts. I decided on the Nabulsi, and was given a 10 min waiting time (it was more like 15 min). Then I was handed a piping hot round of perfectly golden knafeh, topped with crushed pistachios. I left the store and quickly looked around for anywhere to sit. The knafeh smelled like warm sugar syrup and rich ghee, the pastry yielding under my spoon, dragging a lovely stretch of cheese. The melting goodness threatened to burn my mouth, but stopping would mean letting the knafeh cool down, and you do not let knafeh cool down! Absolutely delicious, definitely the best one I've had downtown Montreal. The quality ghee used really seals the deal. Note: this is an express location for take-out only.
