This has truly been one of the worst property management companies I have EVER experienced. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Without hesitation. The lack of professionalism, integrity, and the complete misinformation shared by my property manager is truly disappointing. There are ongoing building concerns that have transpired over the past 5-months which are not being handled properly. Rather than them taking accountability for their shortcomings, they will dismiss you and your concerns. Sometimes, they may even chose to ignore your outreach all together because they do not want to be bothered.
For context, New Star properties has been dealing with an infestation of cockroaches since the beginning of May. I had initially notified my property manager, Taner Gulbas on May 14th. During my phone call, Taner notified me that this matter would need to be held independently because the building had already undergone treatment so he was not "liable". Well, upon further questioning, Taner admitted that the building had in fact not undergone treatment as he initially stated, and will need the board to approve treatment. Otherwise, I must pay for services myself. In speaking with several pest companies, each had informed me that the building and property management should be responsible and that in review of my individual unit, they clearly stated that I was not the source of cockroaches.
After a back and forth with Taner and one negative google review later (since taken down because at the time, NSP made me feel like I was in the wrong), they agreed to do treatment. June 4th was the first time our building had treatment for cockroaches. This was 3-weeks after of my initial complaint. Now for those who are unfamiliar with cockroaches, they rapidly reproduce when not treated immediately. So of course, waiting this long to take action is not ideal.
Since the first treatment, we are continuously seeing cockroaches in the building and I have counted over 80+ roaches in the building. I have connected with other unit owners and they are seeing issues getting worse. However, if you talk to Taner, he will say "I have asked others in the building and others don't have any issues. We had some units checked and no signs of it." or my favorite line, "Lindsey, you got to be patient".
5-months is a long time to live out of bins because you cannot use your kitchen due to the frequent treatment that needs to be done (but only for select units who "opted in" for treatment).
New Star Property is fully aware of the cockroach infestation.
Additionally, I had an instance yesterday where New Star Properties gave out my personal information without my consent which is a violation of privacy.
