Elena is absolutely…read morewonderful and she creates such a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing their experiences. The information I learned throughout the class was incredibly helpful, but what made the biggest impact on me was realizing I wasn't alone. We talked about everything from adjusting to new motherhood, balancing work and nursing, navigating marriage after having a baby, and all the little challenges that come with this new season of life. Hearing other moms' experiences was reassuring and gave me so much confidence. One of my favorite parts is that our group still has a text thread. Even though I don't always chime in, I still read the conversations and continue to learn from the other moms. It's been such a valuable source of advice and encouragement. As a first-time mom without my own mom here to lean on, this class gave me a community I didn't realize I needed. If you're expecting or have recently had your first baby, I truly recommend taking this class. The friendships, support, and knowledge are something you'll carry with you long after the sessions end.

Juliana was a major help during a very vulnerable time. I was dealing with blood blisters, a poor latch, doubts and fears about supply, and a baby that was temporarily not gaining enough weight. As a first-time mom, it was extremely stressful, and there were many tears. However, Juliana's visits always left me feeling more informed, reassured, and capable. We also did a weighted feed during every visit, which confirmed that my baby was indeed getting enough to eat. I still remember the relief I felt when I learned that. Juliana is a big reason why I decided to stay the course with breastfeeding. (Thank goodness, because now I LOVE it.) My insurance covered the cost of the visits, so I just paid the $60 travel fee. I also attended her breastfeeding class with my husband before giving birth. This was super helpful, but I recommend taking the class within 1 month of your due date. We took it a bit too early in my pregnancy, and forgot a couple things by the time I gave birth. Overall, I would highly recommend booking a lactation consultation with Juliana if you're in need of support!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with such warmth and kindness. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely helpful, not pushy at all. They patiently answered all of our (many!) questions and helped us compare different stroller options based on our lifestyle and needs. We left feeling confident in our decision, which is such a huge relief as first-time parents! The store itself is absolutely adorable--full of the cutest baby items you can imagine, from thoughtful gifts and baby clothes to nursery must-haves. You can tell everything is curated with care. It has that perfect boutique vibe without being overwhelming or overpriced. Babies in Bloom is a true gem for anyone preparing to welcome a little one. We left not only knowing what stroller we want, but with a big smile on our faces. Highly, highly recommend!

Warning: long review incoming :D…read more We've been coming to Gyminny Kids La Costa for camp for the past several weeks (and to classes off and on over the last couple of years), and I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. Since I've been able to stay and work while my daughter is at camp, I've had the opportunity to be a fly on the wall and watch the coaches interact with the kids and it seriously has been such a joy to see. The coaches are truly exceptional and are what make this place so special. They are patient, kind, and incredibly encouraging, but they also do an amazing job at setting appropriate boundaries and making sure that safety is their top priority (looking at you, trampolines!). But what really stands out is their consistency and genuine care for the kids. Every coach I've observed treats the kids with respect and enthusiasm and takes the time to learn each of their personalities. I've been incredibly impressed by how the coaches handle the more difficult moments, whether it be a kiddo who is having a hard time following directions, or is feeling overwhelmed, or is straight up having a hard day - the coaches are always patient and professional. They remain calm, are positive, and are super supportive but still maintain structure and expectations of the kiddos. It's very evident that they understand that every kid develops differently and they meet the kids where they are. One thing that has especially stood out to me is the compassion they show children with special needs or those who may need a little extra support. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, they create an environment where every kiddo feels included and supported and they take the time to connect with them as an individual. As a parent, it means a lot to see that level of empathy and intentionality. I'm also impressed with how organized everything is. This location is much smaller than their original 4S Ranch location, but even with all the chaos and nonstop energy, the staff operate like a well oiled machine. The transitions between stations, snacks, crafts, games, and gym activities are seamless, and the kids always seem engaged and supervised. An extra bonus is that they make a point of having each kid wash their hands before eating, keep hand sanitizer and wipes stationed throughout the facility, and do peanut butter checks at snack/lunch since they are a peanut-free facility. We've been coming to Gyminny Kids locations on and off over the last 10 years and have enjoyed seeing how much they've grown while still maintaining their values. As a parent, it's incredibly reassuring to leave your child somewhere you know they'll be safe, encouraged, and genuinely cared for!

Each grade offers children to work at their own pace, and children can learn curriculum in reading/math up to two grades above each grade they're in without a competitive feel between the children. NO IPADS which is amazing since all public schools use that now as a learning tool and I'd rather my daughter not learn via tapping her finger on a screen. There is an intentional effort to have healthier food options at events, ordered school lunches, birthdays in class, aftercare snacks, but there is also no judgement amongst parents or between admin and parents. They offer extracurricular classes for kids in TK and beyond. My daughter does keyboard and dance once a week after school, and it's really nice, she just stays an extra half hour and I pick her up when it's done, and she LOVES them. The aftercare program has been amazing compared to the other Montessori we went to prior to ECDS. We absolutely love our teachers this year, along with the extracurricular teachers we've met. Ms. Hayes is the new principal but has worked at the school for over 10-15 years, and she is just wonderful, caring, dedicated, and knowledgeable. It's a really good feeling as a parent to have the principal and teachers open and welcoming of communication, and allowing us to be involved with our child's experience at school. Feel free to DM me on Yelp if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them!

I attribute my success in breast-feeding entirely to Janae. I hired her for a prenatal consultation…read morewhere she taught me how to hand Express colostrum to the point where I had collected ample before my baby was born five days later. Additionally, I hired her for a postpartum visit, where she helped alleviate engorgement in my breast. I would have paid triple for her advice and her guidance for-feeding. She completely changed the game for me and my son. I am no longer inflamed, the engorgement in my breast is manageable with her massage techniques, and my positioning, while breast-feeding allows for my baby to maximize eating. She is worth her weight and gold and is a complete godsend. I would highly recommend her for anyone who is pregnant or recently postpartum because she will completely change your life for the better.

After a month, we saw no change. Switching to exclusive formula feeding seemed like the only sustainable option, but I was heartbroken at the thought of giving up breastfeeding. A lactation consultant from my breastfeeding support group strongly recommended Janae as a last try. She was able to come over the very next day and helped us create a new plan to increase my supply and gradually reduce bottle feeding. Throughout the process, Janae was always available over text. She offered practical guidance on how to move toward our goals and emotional support that helped me trust the process. Before meeting Janae, I truly felt like there was no hope for my breastfeeding journey. After a month of hard work and her constant support, I'm thrilled to share that my baby had his first full day of exclusive breastfeeding yesterday!
