Selling gorgeous, vampy corsets of the highest quality, Bourdoir were a company that originally started in Glasgow and have now come through to the capital. They sell themselves as "corset specialists", and by that it's not the kind of explicitly sexual lingerie that turns up in sex shops, or the gregarious Whiplash Trash. The corsets they sell in here are a bit more tasteful, and with their sexy but delicate lace up backs they are sizzling. They do free sizing sessions in here to see what corset would exactly suit your figure. Whether you go for bold reds and blacks to pastel colours suited for weddings and soft, girly outfits, they are a surefire winner. Prices start at around £90 which I would say is very reasonable for such quality garments.

On closer inspection though, I realised that this is a specialised corsetry shop! How bizarre! I do recall visiting one of the same name in Glasgow so I think it might be the same one. It is lovely inside and the staff are not in your face or pushy because they probably realise that buying things like this is a private affair! The fittings are free although they are time consuming, so it would probably be better to book an appointment to ensure full attention. Beautifully Boudoir also does photography, so you can get some saucy snaps in your new purchases! I had a look through the portfolio and these pictures are sexy and sophisticated, very beautiful and well composed by professional photographers. It can be pricey but well worth it! A great find in the otherwise boring Heymarket area!

To be fair it is actually really good and is more than just a novelty. Found in the West End, it is slightly off the main shopping streets but worth the detour. Primarily it is a lingerie shop, and it has a good selection of pretty, dare I say it rauchy, stuff. Obviously as a guy, and a non-transvestite, I have a different criteria of what makes underwear hot, and Boobytrap delivers. Not quite as provocative (let's be frank slutty) as Ann Summers, think more La Senza - sexy but with a touch more class. No crotchless knickers here or nipple tassles. As well as this, we have the unusual addition of a café. Whether all the raunchiness has left you feeling a bit weak at the knee, or are a girl chatting about what to buy, or simply a guy way way out of his depth, the café is a place to chill out. They do a good range of teas, coffees and sandwiches which you can enjoy before heading off for round two. An individul and enjoyable place to spend about half an hour, whether as a couple or on your own (buying gifts, not perving - I am not endorsing this).

Not something previously thought possible; however this delightful little boutique cum tea shop nestled in quaint William Street, offers up lashings of designer labels with their stock of rarely found lingerie and on-hand, but entirely unobtrusive, specialist advice. Allthewhile a temptation of an altogether contrasting variety beckons from the rear where pretty colours and designs lay in wait in the form of beautiful cupcakes and freshly brewed coffee; an utter indulgence of the senses!

Based on the Multrese Walk it does give it a certain exclusivity that I don't think it deserves as really it's just another high street chain but because the bigger the boobs the most luxurious your underwear gets (true fact) then it deserves its place catering for the masses, get it? The staff were helpful if not concerned about my emotional wellbeing and helped me out with some wonderful gift vouchers which my friend said didn't stretch very far (ungrateful cow) but then again, it's a pricey place and I'm a skinflint, luckily I don't have big boobs to support.

Soapbox time: In the US (and maybe elsewhere?), women are unfortunately not given the option to buy…read morebras in correct sizes in stores. The only sizes carried in "typical" stores start at a size 30 band and go up to like a DDD maybe. Most women think they are a 32-36 B, C, or D. In the majority of cases, this is wrong. We are also taught that a "DD cup" is like WHOA THAT'S SO HUGE when it is not. It depends on the band size. Someone can wear, say, a 28FF, and that person looks "normal". An FF is not some insanely huge size--although most women would never imagine they could be an FF--it doesn't even sound like a real size to us!! It sounds outrageous, because that's what we've been taught. Go to the site Brabandproject to see what real bra sizes look like. The earlier review from Eleanor is a *perfect* example of this. She doesn't believe she could be a 28FF and says she'll keep wearing a 32D since that's what she can find in stores. Then she insinuates that Bravissimo has a racket to make women think they need bras they can only find in Bravissimo. I really hope no one takes this to heart. It is very incorrect advice. Look, it's totally messed up that stores don't stock bras in the sizes we need. Unfortunately, women who wear these sizes have to order them online. Don't give up and keep wearing the wrong size because you will only buy a bra you can buy in person in a store. Order online. You'll get used to it. Visit the reddit subreddit "abrathatfits" if you want to read TONS of information about correct bra sizing. /end soapbox Anyway, if you are from the US and happen to be visiting the UK, I urge you to get a bra fitting at a Bravissimo. I went in the morning and was able to meet with someone after just a couple minutes. You go into a fitting room with your staffer and you take off your shirt and they start bringing you bras until you find one that fits. They are experts at knowing what makes for a perfectly fitting bra. The women I worked with was great. (The size I was already wearing wasn't too far off because I'd done my own measuring years ago after studying reddit's /r/abrathatfits.) After we determined the correct size, I shopped a little on my own and picked out another bra. They range in prices, but mine were around...40 pounds, I think. They carry Bravissimo brand and other brands too, like Panache. They also carry swimsuits. The bottom floor of the store has clothing that's made to fit curvy women. Such an amazing idea!! Definitely stop by if you've never had a proper bra fitting!!
