I left a magical place of recovery called St. Joseph's institute and transferred to White Deer Run…read moreof York PHP. The place is a nightmare, and I still have anxiety and depression lingering from that place. You wake at 6am for meds. then at 7:30 they transfer you from the apartments (My apartment had 5 bedrooms to house 14 men, and you're not allowed to leave the building at all) to the 'facility.' The facility is a 25'x30' room where they squeeze in 30 men and one counselor. Besides lunch hour and two ten-minute smoke breaks you will spend your entire day in this room. The food is terrible, tastes disgusting, and is cold. The counselors can barely control the room, and each day disintegrates into shouting matches and posturing for fights. The place is a scam. They don't want to treat your addiction. White Deer Run just wants your insurance money. The moment and sometimes even before a person left another body (A real person seeking treatment) was already installed to fill that void. The counselors Josie and Crystal legitimately care for their charges, but everyone else is just doing SSDD to make money for their employer and collect a paycheck for themself. The only good thing about White Deer Run of York PHP is it taught me to be thankful for every small positive occurrence in life and take nothing for granted, because that place is full of negativity and greed. It's a nightmare, and has nothing to do with helping a person recover from an addiction

Do not ever go here food…read moreis terrible staff is terrible, when patients have to go to hospital they send UBER to bring and take them from rehab to the hospital. Drugs are snuck in constantly, staff has attitude and are very negative. My daughter called me from hospital says that the rehab Medically discharged her because she was having panic attacks and passing out and they said they didn't have the staff to take care for her. So the rehab just left her at the hospital didn't get her a ride didn't pick her up, didnt bring her belongings. So my daughter had to sit in the emergency room for 2-1/2 hours while i drove down to her from Wilkes Barre, PA to the hospital in York, Pa. Very very disappointed in White Deer Run York, PA would never ever recommend. Also when I picked up my daughter and went back to rehab for her belongings the staff was disrespectful and gave attitude the whole time.

July 24, 2019: I went to the same pain mgt. clinic for 17 years and received no help other than…read morepain killers and muscle relaxers plus a benzodiazepine on top of the previous two which is a deadly combo. I have suffered from chronic left lumbo-sacral radiculopathy since 1999. Didn't receive proper treatment...that is until I started going to the All Better Wellness Center in Lancaster, PA at 221Granite Run Dr. in Dec. 2018. I first saw Dr. Lisa Makrides who was a very kind, caring doctor. I didn't receive pain meds on my initial visit due to verification of urinalysis in order to check for chemicals in my system that would be detrimental to my health if pain meds were added. However, I made sure that I scheduled at a time of month when I had sufficient medication to last me. On my 2nd visit (in 2 wks.) I received my same meds and same dosage that previous doctor had prescribed me thanks to Dr. Makrides. She is not a drug pusher though. She suggested that I was a candidate for sacroiliac injection. Jan. 2019 I went in for the inj. Unfortunately this did not help. So on my next follow-up Dr. Makrides recommended facet injections. I received this treatment in late Feb. of 2019. The caregiver that administered each the SI inj. and facet injs. was Dr. Joseph Marra. Three weeks later a large portion of my lumbar & left leg pain had subsided. Dr Marra had taken over my pain mgt. at this time. In late March '19 I started weaning my pain meds and muscle relaxants on my own. By April 29th 2019 I was finally free and clear of being a slave to this pharmaceutical garbage!!! On my following visit I turned in all my leftover meds to Dr. Marra and Cindy the head nurse. Cindy BTW is a sweetheart. She's a considerate, warmhearted nurse. Tina was also an understanding professional nurse. I am so much more like my old self. Not just physically, but mentally. Everyday my mentality has gotten stronger and still continues little by little. If you are afraid of this procedure please don't be. Dr. Marra is very skilled and precise performing this procedure. He also has an outstanding 'bedside manner' and I never once felt rushed. Always took the time to thoroughly explain my treatment plan and gave me a chance to ask questions and express my concerns. I highly suggest this method of medical care to anyone who is in the same boat I was!!! When...IF ...symptoms return I'm going to undergo the Radio Frequency Ablation. You can bet your last dollar on that! P.S. I can not close this without mentioning the receptionist, Ashley. She is a knowledgable and compassionate individual who is very good at her profession.

They make you arrive an hour early to fill out "a lot" of papers, exact words from the receptionist. If you're looking for a doctor who will listen and understand your concerns, this is NOT the place to go. I was sent to the practice because my PCP does not have a pain management doctor at the moment. I had one visit and it will be my last. Save your time, money, and energy and go somewhere else. Overall an unpleasant experience.

CRNP Gonzales saw me twice, the first time she saw me she blamed this problem on me having 1-2 diet dr pepper soda cans a week after taking a very weak and abbreviated medical history (barely listening to me, at one point she rolled her eyes at me and was on her personal phone). Seeing her for a second time a month later I had completely discontinued drinking anything other than water and she STILL refused to believe I was actually having an issue and just totally dismissed me because my bladder HAPPENED to be empty at the second appointment. I called the front desk and spoke to someone and explained the situation and how distraught I was after the second appointment, and to their credit the front desk staff were very understanding and got me in to get a second opinion with Dr. Bonslaver. Despite waiting almost 90 minutes after being called back to the waiting room, Dr Bonslaver was at least receptive to listening to me, but didn't really have any other advice other than to log how much fluid I drink and expel, which I had already done. With that and no other real advice they told me to come back in three months for a follow up. What am I supposed to do just wait for three months with this issue? A week before this 3 month follow up some hostile person from the front desk calls and they need to move my appointment from march 3rd to april 28th after already waiting 3 months since the last bladder appointment with no help. I politely again explained what is going on and they will not take me seriously.
