The place is open from early morning til late and I felt it's not too busy. They don't have many of everything but the definitely have the things you need...and it's clean and not intimidating. It's extremely reasonable and..the membership together with weekly training session with a trainer comes to what I used to pay for (or even less than!) my previous gym membership at a nearby place. I returned home and received an email from iron soul stating that my membership had been cancelled because I was "staring at female members and making them feel uncomfortable". I had no idea what they were talking about and racked my brain as to how something I did could be labeled as excess staring . I called and left a message for an explanation and right to defend myself, I emailed back and asked how they could kick me out without speaking to me on the matter based on someone's subjective opinion of what my eyes where doing. They did not answer my calls during business hours and did not respond to my email as of yet. They labeled me guilty without the decency of giving me a combat veteran and first responder the right to defend myself against accusations on my character. This is such a disappointment because I loved the training there so much However if this is how they do business and I feel that I have to walk on eggshells and look at the ground in order to not inadvertently offend someone there than I rather not be a part of that gym. Hope you have a better experience than I did however another former member I know was telling me something similar happened to him so I'm not crazy.

Steam room is way too hot! Turn it down! This is the only place that has turned what should be a…read moretherapeutic and enjoyably experience into pure misery. Can't spend more than a couple of minutes at a time in it. That doesn't help anything. The sign next to the steam room says it will be kept at approximately 110 degrees. It's much hotter. The steam cycles on every thirty seconds or so. That's crazy, I asked an attendant what temperature the steam room was kept at and he said 117 degrees. What happened to the 110 degrees that the wall sign says? I would like to be able to spend ten to fifteen minutes in the steam room, but I can't. This morning I couldn't even get two minutes in. It's too damn hot. I'm looking to work up a decent sweat, not a stroke. I've been going to this CHUZE for seven years, and in that time the steam room has almost never worked properly. About a year ago it seemed like they had fixed it. The steam cycled on every ninety seconds or so. I could actually spend fifteen minutes in it enjoying the moderate heat. And I could actually see the other people in the room; they weren't obscured by dense clouds of steam. It was very enjoyable. But then someone apparently decided to raise the temperature. It's really disgusting. I like CHUZE, but I can't deal with the fact that in seven years they haven't been able to get the steam room right. I will now start looking for a different gym.

And the space is utilized very well- you've got everything from functional to heavy racks, a heavy bag, cable equipment, free weights & etc... And it's not such a big beast, so that it has a welcoming & neighborly feel. I regularly see the manager constantly interacting with members & maintaining the entire space. Quite honestly I've walked into a bathroom & someone has left it a mess- but it gets addressed immediately. And like all facilities, maintenance and renovations could be made accordingly to enhance the customer/member experience! However, after visiting and being treated so very well by upper management/supervision... it's this line staff who is just not up to par. The reception/front desk seriously has areas for improvement! As, they require coaching on how they speak, use facial expressions, and overall usage their body language to interact. Who are you to police and act poorly, roll eyes, and talk disparagingly about the customer when they walk away? Further far too much chit chat at the front desk, where is the busy work and checklists? Unfortunately, it's the ladies working from 4:00pm til closing at the front desk who have these attitudes. Really not acceptable! Call out if you are in a bad mood! Also management, if you have different hours i.e. your summer and winter hours, your line staff, front desk "concierge"should be advising this politely and always ready to greet the customer or member with warmth and respect. Not, "appeared bothered or annoyed " to have to do their job they receive a paycheck for!
