He's super informative, demonstrates the techniques very well and in a way you can understand and visualize. The equipment is well maintained and everyone I encounter is professional, fun, and super friendly. You feel welcome and that makes it even easier to get a work-out in... forget the "no judgement zone" - we do need judgement and critique in the right ways, and this gym is just the place for that. I like how I am told if I'm not properly completing an exercise because in the long run you only hurt yourself and waste your time if you aren't. I would recommend this facility to anyone I know. I believe that they have the skill set to change my habits and I know I have been much more active and motivated since I started coming here. After going to many other gyms, I can truly say I feel that the intimacy of this one holds you accountable (without making you feel bad when you can't be) and that's truly what I need. Thank you so much!…read more We are currently on a road trip and had to get our daily workout, and this "box" was perfect! It was a GREAT drop-in workout with cardio and weights. And our coach (I'm sorry I missed her name but she had the faded rainbow hair with one side cut short) was knowledgeable and attentive, and really encouraged us through the workout! We also brought our two daughters, and when the music got a little explicit, she switched the songs. She didn't have to, as the words were fast enough and our girls were entertained and distracted by the pups sitting off to the side that they didn't notice, but she did and she took the initiative, and I was VERY appreciative. It was one of those little things that went above and beyond and I was grateful. We loved it and will for sure come in again next summer on our 2020 road trip to Missouri! (This year it's Maryland).

I've been a member of Burque's active community for a few years (let's get real- gym rat, exercise junkie, person on the Bosque that says on your left waaay louder than deemed necessary). I started hearing more and more about Crossfit and decided to investigate the legit way- YouTube. I was blown away watching these terrifying feats of strength/endurance and immediately thought not my scene. Saying you can't do something is lame- and certainly not how Mr. Rogers raised me to think. I woke up one morning and decided to take the plunge in the world of badassery (yeah that's a word now) I rolled up to Sandia Crossfit thinking "Will I survive? I'm going to be the only person without knee socks....I cant do a pull up if a kittens life depended on it" One free intro class later I was hooked. (Saturday 11-12 free intro hour) Sandia Crossfit is the only gym I've seen that takes "Anyone can crossfit" to heart. The workouts are tailored to your own capabilities, you will be able to participate no matter your fitness background/limitations. The instructors are knowledgable and genuinely want to help you get the most out of the class- quickly offering adjustments, modifications ( or in my case- pushing me to the level I want to be). Classes are an hour comprising of warmup workout, technique work, and lastly a WOD that will give you that endorphin rush you've been jonesing for. They also offer functional yoga as well as mobility (Mobility is taught by a physical therapist at no extra cost- seriously) Paleo pot lucks, snow shoe outings, swim wods? I can't say enough about my love for this place, the people that run it, or the sport of Crossfit.

What I love about Ninja Core, is the access the kids have to all of the equipment in the gym, and how passionate the coaches are about keeping the kids challenged. My kids participate in the Competitive classes, and attend several of the other classes throughout the week, including parkour, and they absolutely love it. It's helping them develop the skills, attitude and team building for competitions at a national level, while also helping them build strength, agility, coordination, and overcoming their fears and boundaries. The staff is exceptional, I couldn't have asked for a better mentor/leader/coach, and I look forward to making this our permanent ninja family for years to come!

So this review is very biased since I have never tried crossfit anywhere else. But I LOVE IT! The owner and the coaches are super nice and super encouraging. The gym itself is a huge open space with equipment that you can use during open gym sessions. On top of that they have classes and the coaches are very good at correcting postures to make sure you aren't injured while doing strength training. This is not a place where you will run into young meatheads and all they want to do is workout and checkout girls like the ordinary gyms. This is a place where they encourage everyone to come and workout and participate in crossfit. The coaches are incredibly friendly and the atmosphere in the whole crossfit gym is very welcoming. After a month of working out here, I can say I truly enjoy coming here.

So far...so good…read more I'm sure my scoring of this place will change as time goes on and I see the results with my kids. I asked...no hounded...my children's father to get them enrolled in Jiu Jitsu because my daughter was in it before and she loved it. This is the place he chose. First and foremost...Chaz is AWESOME. He helped me when I was struggling to learn the ropes from belt tying to what was up with the student cards. He's the best. Professor Wes, I think it is, is great as well. He's really good with the kids. He's firm but knows how to laugh with them as well when it's appropriate. He seems very kind and patient. He takes time with the parents as well which is important to me. The issues I have are that I've watched the kids sparring and although Professor Wes is in there, he can only watch so many at a time. It looks like there might be junior instructors in the classes as well so I think they help but I see these kids rolling without a lot of correction. I'm just wondering how they learn. I'm guessing that will come in time which is why I'm determined to get my kids there at least three times per week. I hate to sound like a skeptic because I'm not. I have watched this sport for years and love it. I hounded the children's father forever to do this so I am definitely a fan. Gracie Jiu Jitsu is world renowned so I'm expecting to see great results. I want to see my children grow, become more disciplined, more self aware but mostly, gain self esteem. Time will tell. The parking lot is weird. I feel like I'm going to get in an accident when I pull in but so far I haven't. I wish there wasn't a wall so I could see the kids better from the waiting area but whatever. We aren't supposed to interfere anyway. All in all, I have high hopes and I'm confident Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will deliver.

If you're not big on going to the gym, but need to move your body or just do something to get that couch-fat off, this is a great choice. The exercises here are focused on getting your body moving correctly and geared towards folks who aren't ready for intense work-outs. Instructors provide corrections in small classes so you can be sure you're doing things right. After just a few weeks of classes, I've already lost weight and my muscle pain has been reduced. Well worth it.
