do NOT send your kid here unless for elementary school only. the elementary school teachers are…read moreamazing and i loved them so much growing up in elementary and learned so much from them. i have currently left this school to go to public school as a highschool student and i am currently struggling from the fact i have barely learned anything from merritt academy. everyone around me is so smart and intelligent but im over here struggling because theyre doing a review on something from the previous year when i never even learned it. the only subject i am currently good at is history due to the god sent of a teacher, Mrs. Bouwhuis. she is literally an angel and such a great teacher out of all the other highschool teachers. in geometry last year i learned NOTHING. the whole year we were allowed to use our phones for chatgpt, gauthmath ai, or photomath. the teacher did not teach us the math and made us figure it out on our own because we were supposed to be the "smart class". he didnt care so much that students even used ai on tests and even the nwea. safe to say i learned absolutely nothing in geometry. another teacher i must say i love is Mr. Viviano. i have learned so much in his class and barely struggled at all throughout middle school and algebra 1. hes a great teacher too. the staff does not care about students mental health or their feelings. this school is drama filled and the staff barely does anything about it. the students they pay more attention to when in a bad situation are the students that make them a better image of the school. some students would get in trouble for some things but when another student does the same thing they dont care. they're super unfair and very biased. after leaving merritt academy i can come to the conclusion of how terrible of a school this is. i have learned nothing and its only made my mental health worse throughout the years. not to mention the fact my former classmate only got expelled from how many complaints were racking up on him. there are so many creepy students at this school and they DONT CARE. he had complaints going to the office left and right for being nasty and doing stuff to girls. im not going to go into detail because thats not my place but thats only an example of how terrible my years were here. the truly only enjoyable ones at merritt were the ones i was in elementary. i miss all of those teachers so much along with Mrs. Bouwhuis and Mr. Viviano.

The teachers are exceptional - from infant level to toddler. We have had such an incredible time growing there. Would recommend over and over again.

My son still talks about his teachers, (a few that are actually still there)and he is 15! We visit on occasion, and the same level of care is evident in the condition of the building, play areas, and low staff turnover. The building is secure, and employees have a dress code. I like that because the staff is easily identifiable. Mangement is always present to assist with anything that I need. I admire the friendly family atmosphere and I like that they do things in the community and are always welcoming. -D.B

The inside of the building is pretty easy to get around, no getting lost in this building. The classrooms are of decent size. The building has a middle school and elementary school. The building staff (teachers, administrators, custodians and office staff) have great personalities and make coming to the school to volunteer a wonderful experience.
