They have an awesome display of Lego collectible figures, but the prices are out of this world…read more Some routinely go for $40, some much, much higher, too, while the average price per figure for ones that I can get anywhere else is about $15. Even the cheapest ones, which are sold in huge quantities everywhere you can buy Lego mini figures, sell for almost $10 at the Robot Garage. I can and do buy those same ones at places like the drug store, Five Below and even Toys R Us for a couple of bucks. Do they have a large, even quite impressive, selection? Yes, but they are overrated and overpriced. They do have in-demand pieces and ones that have been retired or only were produced in limited quantities, but they are not so rare that the prices are justified on everything they sell. Come on, a lot of those figures I can and have gotten for $3 each and there is no need to spend that much on a little hobby. I was last here a the weekend after Thanksgiving. The customer service was so lacking that I'm tempted to not even give them a three star review because based on that one particular experience, although I've been here many times, was so downright horrible that I wouldn't even give them a one star except that I couldn't give lower. The guy that was supposed to be waiting on me basically walked off chatting on his phone and ignored every customer in there. It was near closing time, but there were a bunch of people waiting for assistance and he just walked off to take a personal call on his phone while staring right back at the line at the counter. Some nice girl that didn't really know what she was doing was forced to come to the front and take care of everything herself and mumbled apologies at us, but it wasn't her place to apologize, it was his. He disappeared and we never saw him again as we left the store. I'm still surprised that I bought the pieces I wanted, but they were ones that I was missing and I did want them. I do admit to having a little buyer's remorse over purchasing them with that guy's attitude. The store does have nice Lego displays for children and a huge selection, so that's what brings people through the door. It certainly isn't the customer service that is lacking in all areas.

Their friendly teachers, amazing staff, and fun learning environment make their classes for kids the best. They make learning engineering fun for kids! Convenient parking, too which is always a plus as a parent.

We had a great experience at Goddard School Lake Orion after a rough time at another area day care…read more My son was in the Junior Kindergarten room, called, "Raindrops". He is definitely ready for Kindergarten at his public school. The curriculum is challenging enough to keep the children's attention, but appropriate to their age so that your child can progress and feel confident. My son's teacher, Ms. Kathy, kept the class on track, adding creative and imaginative aspects to the topic at hand. The assistant, Alexa, was very nurturing and patient with my high energy child. Summer camp was a welcome change with field trips and special presenters to keep things fun.

After enrolling my son in Goddard I came for 3 visits an hour each the week before he started in the infant room. I came home from each visit feeling uncomfortable. The issues that I had were with the teachers lack of communication. When I brought 4 bottles and gave his teacher exact times to feed him and I came to pick up my son and found he was only fed two bottles in the morning. He was laying on the tile floor on his back screaming. I was told that they didnt know when to feed him because the other teacher had left so they didn't. When I went to tell the director mrs. Jean she wanted me to speak on the phone with the head teacher. At this point I was feeding my son who hadn't been feed for several hours and was crying in hunger and she was upset I refused to stop feeding him to talk to the teacher on the phone. Another issue I had was my son was put to sleep in his swing when I asked that he not be Ms. Jean said I would need to address it with the teacher myself. I found my child was put to sleep in his crib covered in spit up (his outfit was dirty under his sleep sack). One of the teachers offten picks up the babies by their arms and calls them stupid. I never felt comfortable leaving my son here and after two weeks on the day I found my son wasn't fed we left the owner walked me to my car saying the tuition was nonrefundable.

Not a real Montessori school, demonstrates blatant disregard for student well-being. Your money…read morewon't go towards your child's education here. We withdrew after 7 weeks. Where to start... When my older son was so riddled with anxiety one day he refused to get out of the car at drop-off I knew I had to spend some time in the classrooms to see first-hand what was going on. Up until this point we had heard stories from the kids, were suspicious of the lack of work being done, and had already had a meeting with the headmaster over a separate safety issue that was going on at school. What I found when I visited the classrooms was virtually no academic work being done, the core components of a Montessori program not being delivered, and a hazardously frigid cold building. HAZARDOUS SCHOOL BUILDING. At $17k+ tuition, you'd think a school would have basic necessities like heat. I've attached a photo of the thermostat from inside my 2nd graders classroom on the day we pulled him out of this place. 52 degrees in the 3rd week of October. I was told it was "too early" to turn on the heat. See attached violation from the City of Pontiac building department for no heat and not maintaining a temperature of 68 degrees. This citation was a week after we left. Let that sink in that another week went by before they corrected the issue of freezing cold classrooms. FALSE CLAIMS TO BE A MONTESSORI PROGRAM. This school claims to be "fully accredited" and we were told (in writing) that they were a member of AMS (The American Montessori Society), yet when I verified their membership status (see attached letter from AMS) I found out they haven't even been members since 2020. NO INDIVIDUALIZED OR CHILD LED LEARNING (i.e. not Montessori). Kids had same lessons assigned. The Upper Elementary and Middle School are grouped together under the same lead teacher (we were not told this when we signed up). Montessori should have a 3 year age range, not 5. I observed my 4th grader and my 7th grader working on the same materials, and that work was way below even the 4th grade level. The teacher (Ms. Carey) admitted to giving my 7th grader the wrong math and science work for the previous 7 weeks. Ms. Carey admitted that our kids at 7 weeks into the program did not have the materials or the adult support to work on anything beyond what was setup for the classroom for the start of the school year. CHAOTIC STRESSFUL ENVIRONMENT. A Montessori learning environment is supposed to provide a peaceful and quiet environment where students can work uninterrupted for long periods of time. This environment was so chaotic and full of constant interruptions (including flying sharp objects being thrown across the room and other safety issues) that my kids were nervous wrecks. My older son's friend was hit in the face with a pair of scissors that someone threw. DOCUMENTED LEARNING LOSS. In the 7 weeks we attended this school, my kids went from having great grades and high scores on their academic testing from the end of the previous school year in Math, to failing the math placement tests for the school they attended last year. We now are paying for weekly private tutoring to get caught up. This is all well documented.

Over the past years I have witnessed this place go from bad to worse. Employees come and go and they can't retain employees more than a month. Kids walk around with crusted snot, dirty diapers and no socks "which is not allowed by state regulations". The place is dirty and is not well taking care of. Payments and billings are not managed so there is always discrepancy about it. Kids play area is behind the building with no fenced in area. Cars cut through speeding the alley way which should not be allowed by state in my opinion. List could go on and on. But, I will end with this. If you want a clean well taking care of with a nice staff. THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR YOU!!

This is the worse experience I have ever had with a daycare. I don't typically review because I…read moredon't like to harm a reputation and understand that people have off days, but thought it was important to get the word out about this place as it is above and beyond terrible here. I was there for 7 weeks. From day one I had issues. Right from the beginning the gentlemen who introduced me to the facility was rude and gave me no information. You could tell he didn't like his job and even asked me about the place I had come from and if they were hiring. He was only there a couple more days after that, but I didn't get any orientation or paperwork. He didn't even ask for papers for my daughter. I brought them in on my own assuming they must at least need her shot records? I just moved here from South Carolina and didn't know much about the area. This was the only day care I could find that was open past 6 and it was a deal compared to other places around. I have been looking since to find a place open later because if its to good to be true then you can't expect any kind of quality. The first week she was there she was bitten so bad it broke the skin. Also in that first week I noticed her diaper soaked when she came home. So I put a mark with a sharpie on her diaper the next day and when she got home she still had the same diaper on! I talked to the teacher in her room and she said she would do something about it, but again the next day, the same thing!! There is no order, no accountability here. The managers are never there and never available to talk with you. Most of the girls that work there are not polite and don't seem like they are passionate about kids. They will look at you pull up and wait till you have to beat on the window to be let in while you stand in the cold. Then they will take their time walking to let you in. I have had a lot of complaints and so they have been especially impolite with me and my husband. I should have pulled her out, but I kept going while I was looking for another place. And she had made a little friend so I thought she would be ok until I could find somewhere else. Then she came home with a nasty bloody scratch on her bottom. It was obvious this was from her getting her diaper changed and someone with long nails not being gentle. I took a picture and went in the next morning to talk to someone in charge. But of course there was no one. Then that same night they sent a note home saying the scratch had happened that day and my daughter had done it. Clearly they were trying to cover their tracks because I had the photo dated the night before. A few weeks later my husband tells me that the girl working in the evening was very rude to him and told him until he paid his balance our daughter couldn't come back. He then produces a $900 dollar invoice. I was in disbelief. Not only is this place so disorganized that they don't know someone would owe them 7 back weeks of pay, but they don't keep records or organize the money I do give them. I had to go back and get all my receipts and bring them in. This was unreal to me. I am a property manager of 240 apartments. I have to keep track of large amounts of money, residents and complaints, maintenance and a myriad of other things on any given day. You have a system when it comes to money. Not only that, but I am ALWAYS available to the people here if they need a manager to talk to. There is never management here. I think they want a business without having to work at all for it. The last straw happened this morning. This was so beyond disbelief. I went to drop my daughter off and they told me I couldn't bring her for a week because I hadn't filled out a schedule. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I had to be to court for my job in an hour and now I am being told I don't have child care. I was so upset. They are jeopardizing my livelihood with this. I didn't know we even had to have a schedule. She said I should have known it was in my handbook. Well I never got one. She said well its on the wall. Who has time to read a wall? I haven't been doing this from the beginning. No one ever told me this was so important to do that I would be told one morning I can't even take my child to daycare. No communication, no organization and zero customer service or care. Trust me, The unprofessionalism of this establishment and the care they give the children is deplorable. Please, stay as far away from this place as possible. They don't care about the kids at all. They pay the workers horribly so they don't have good care. I couldn't figure out this whole schedule thing. I work full time, my schedule never changes. I realized its because they are so worried about paying for the care our children receive, they must ask for the schedules so they don't have to have to many full time employees. These people are terrible. As a manager, I am shocked by how poorly this place is run. They shouldn't be in business at all.
