I was going to Turks and Caicos and really wanted to make the most of the clear blue water, so I knew I needed a good, quality snorkeling set. The resort provided free rentals, but because of Covid, I felt more comfortable just bringing my own. I traveled to the Galapagos islands in 2018, and had a terrible experience with the snorkel gear that I was using. I was having a very hard time having my nose plugged and it was causing me a panic, and therefore I did not enjoy the snorkeling experience. It turns out that now full face masks are now a thing - and New England Dive had plenty of good options! They were reasonably priced and the person assisting me took them out of their packaging so that I can really see how they worked. I left the store with a new snorkeling mask, confident that this experience was going to go much smoother - and it did! I'm so grateful that I found this mask. The store is huge, even though it looks kind of small from the outside, and their inventory is huge. I visited Cabela's and a couple of other sports stores, but none had this particular style of mask. read more

SOLID dive shop. We are beginners - just finished our Open Water certification. We knew we wanted to get serious about diving with our own gear but there is soo much to learn. This is where the experienced staff of New England Dive comes in. All of the staff are divers, and they took hours to answer every question we could possibly have. We arrived half an hour before closing (our mistake) and they stayed open an extra 2 hours to make sure we were taken care of. Never did they rush us the entire time. There is no pressure to purchase anything and there is no price negotiation. The prices are synchronized with the manufacturer prices so you don't have to worry about markup. Further, the prices were often cheaper than online. Third, they gave several discounts without us even asking. If you need dive gear I can't recommend New England enough! read more

I came across New England Dive a couple years ago on Amazon. My local dive shop has a very small selection, and the larger shops are more than an hour drive away, so I went online and came across them. It started with some questions, which were promptly answered. I placed an order, received it, changed my mind, and asked for an exchange with something else. It was promptly handled. I ended up ordering two computers and two regs from them. When we lost a yoke knob on one of the regs, I emailed and Gregg promptly set up a special Amazon listing so I could buy a new one and he got it right out to me. Recently, I needed to upgrade our dive computers. I must've exchanged 20 emails with Gregg and Stephen D asking questions. They patiently answered every one, and I even talked on the phone with Stephen to get additional insights. Since this was a trade-in of our old computers to get a discount on the new ones, they again set up a special Amazon link for me. If you live near their shop, GO! If they're so amazing via phone and email to someone who lives across the country, just imagine what they're like in person. If I lived in the area, I'd be in that shop all the time. The staff is very knowledgeable and responsive, and they have a huge selection in stock. They are all divers themselves and help me narrow down choices on gear such as Full Face Masks. Steve got in the pool with me to help me test a couple different brands out. I had difficulty finding anyone in the area who had these in stock and who has experience with this type of gear. I have had the pleasure of using New England dive to repair tears in my vinyl pool liner. This is the second time I have used them in the past. The first time was several years ago and the patch they used lasted to this day. I recently had them come out again as my liner has exceeded its lifetime expectancy and we had several new splits in the liner. They came when they said, were incredibly professional and knowledgeable and even came back a week later when another tear formed and did not charge for the call even though it was on Memorial Day. This is a family run business where my wife and I learned to dive and continue to do business. Their prices are very competitive (even with online merchants) and they always give me great attention and advice, which is important to me. The instruction is very thorough and instructors are very professional. I can trust them to do the right thing for me. Diver comfort and safety is their primary concern. The personal service and friendliness you will receive from them is a key to doing business with them. They also have real good dive trips . My experience was awful. Back in the middle of March (2021), I purchased a pair of spring straps that were sent priority mail, and lost by the USPS. Greg was not helpful, nor proactive in helping to track the package or make any claim once the days and weeks went by, and the package deemed to be lost. He repeatedly said "there's nothing I can do", and he said it with a flippantly obnoxious, and dismissive tone. I was out $70! The most regretful aspect was that I could have ordered the straps from his shop through Amazon, who would have provided proof of delivery or paid a claim right away if they lost the item. Amazon would have taken a small cut from the seller, so in a gesture of helping small business in any small way possible, I ordered the straps directly from Greg's shop. So then to later lose $70, while being treated with such an indifferent, careless, and dismissive manner, there was one cynical cliche that came to mind - "no good deed goes unpunished"! Needless to say, I'll never be making any future purchases from their shop. New England Dive should learn from this situation and never send a package to a customer without a signature or at least proof of delivery, but I doubt they'll learn from this failure, or even care. read more

There are a dive shops in CT. This one has an considerable amount of inventory which is great. I recently bought a canister light and due to a manufacturer defect it failed on a dive. I brought the defective light back to NE dive center. Greg took the light back without any questions and exchanged it for store credit, dollar for dollar. No nonsensical restocking fees, no muss no fuss. I have a dive this weekend and not only was I able to obtain an even better lighting solution for my filming. They really stood out as not only a shop that will make good on returns but a shop that will leave you walking out of the door happy. Well done NE Dive! read more
