Can I just say, it's so fun and enlightening! I didn't think we'd have fun but it was actually really entertaining and relatable!! I recommend everyone in a serious relationship take this since it's so insightful in all relationships in life! A bonus is $60 off the marriage license, love it!! I was surprised that they had coffee, a welcoming environment and a beautiful place to host the workshops, even the bathrooms were beautiful! Also, for people who aren't religious, we thought they'd be bible thumpers but they fed us snacks and a huge lunch and it was super welcoming without being over bearing religious like we had previously thought. People in our workshop were from all over Texas and drove up: temple, waco, San Antonio to do this, too cool!! Terri and her husband do an amazing job at what they do to deliver a nonfaith based workshop but they do have faith based workshops should you wish to do one where the topic focuses on biblical references. Fun conversations, one or two group activities but mostly exercises focused on you and your significant other, and many movie clips to help set examples of material covered in the workshop help make the state mandated 8 hours fly by. I can see us doing this again in the future after were married to help us solidify and reflect on ourselves as we as people constantly grow and have life experiences always shaping up. Finally, they have intern counselors that offer their help for relationship counseling for free should you need additional conversations! No judgement and positivity all throughout! My therapist is great, it's incredibly hard to find a therapist willing to work with bipolar and ptsd, especially a therapist that you connect with and feel comfortable with. I truly am rooting for the therapists to be able to make their own way or find an amazing office to see us clients that want to follow them. Over the years, I have been moved between multiple providers due to provider turnover within the practice. I recently called for a refill and was told by the receptionist that I could not receive any medication, not even a short bridge refill, until I completed an appointment. I was given no advance notice that this would happen. In the past, I have been able to schedule an appointment and receive a small temporary supply until I could be seen. Because of this sudden refusal, I am now experiencing withdrawal symptoms, including brain zaps, after abruptly stopping a medication I have taken for years. My concern is not simply about scheduling. My concern is the lack of continuity of care, lack of notice, and lack of a safe medication plan for an established psychiatric patient. I understand the importance of follow-up appointments, but abruptly leaving a long-term patient without a bridge refill or provider review feels unsafe and unacceptable. This experience has been very disappointing after four years with the practice, and I would not feel comfortable recommending them based on how this was handled.
