Chen Chen is our all time favorite. Their salmon is like no other I have found. I have tried to find out what seasonings they use but haven't been able to . My granddaughter loves their little shrimps. We moved back to Missouri ( North of Kansas City ) 4 years ago and have been to many, many other asian buffets but none we like as much as Chen Chen. Chen Chen's is amazing for take out and that is how I typically eat there because the prices are super reasonable. NOW if you plan to get the buffet be sure you either go close to the time they open or when they are super busy or the food may be a little stale. You just have to catch the right time of day. But they do have an amazing selection and they are the cheapest chinese food in town! read more

I recently moved here to the area from Las Vegas. Chen Chen is the only Chinese place in town and they are ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! The guy at the counter is so very rude, has no customer service and only there for the money. I made an order of " Beef Chop Suey " which is normally served in a Chinese food box and a separate lunch special. My order of Beef Chop Suey was a half order along with a half order of " Beef BROCCOLI ", which I am allergic to. I called Chen Chen's to let them know of their mistake and to ask them if I could bring it back because I was over charged and didn't receive my full order of Beef Chop Suey. He told me that he did me a favor by giving me the Broccoli Beef and not charge me the full price for it so if I came back he would charge me for it I repeated that I didn't order anything with broccoli and didn't want it on my plate and also I paid for a FULL order of the Chop Suey and not only did I not get it but it was put in a lunch to go plate and not an order box! He gave me what he wanted me to have and I pay $21 for it?? No ma'am! He then said, " If you don't like the food, Don't come back!" Before I could respond, he slammed the telephone down in my face and hung up on me! In Vegas there would be many avenues that I could take to legally punish him for treating a paying customer like he did me today but here in Magnolia Arkansas I guess the customer is NOT always right, valued or supported against subpar businesses like Chen Chen's. Where is the Better Business Bureau when you need them?? This is the only Chinese place in this town, and that is the sole reason it's open. The food is gross, the selection is terrible, and the man at the front is not friendly at all. If it isn't lunch rush, they don't replace anything, and that slop is pretty dried up to begin with. The servers are usually friendly, but that's it. Our last experience was so horrible, we're never going back. I'd rather drive an hour to get to the next closest Chinese place or eat microwave fried rice from the grocery store. First off, it was HOT. It's Arkansas in September, so temps are still in the 90's and they barely had the air on. I had sweat dripping down my back. When a server walked by, the breeze was a lot more wonderful than it should have been. Every single thing on buffet bar is Luke warm if even that. Every trey wasn't even half full. And ALL the food tasted like it had been sitting there all afternoon. It was only 7:30 when I went in to eat. The guy at the counter had a little attitude I really didn't care for. Pettifull.
