Quiet, warm, well stocked, and (wo)manned by exceedingly helpful people: so, everything a small town library should be.

Normally I would not visit a public library on vacation (I'm from California) but since I had a few…read moreminor things that required a desktop computer through my work, I had to make a stop at "Wilmington Public Library". Located directly on E. 10th St. and in between N. Market St/N. King St in the heart of downtown Wilmington, Delaware, this library is located in the historic Rodney Square District. Hours of operation are Thursday-Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm and Friday and Saturday, Monday-Wednesday from 9:00am-7:00pm. I came here during the afternoon of Friday 10/10/2025 at around 3:15pm. Parking was fairly accessible as I was able to park my rental car directly outside (with paid parking meters). Once inside, you will notice just how spacious this library is. They have various sections that includes a dedicated children's area, a teen zone, local historical research, meeting rooms, and a very generous section for checking out books, audio books, and DVD rentals. Since I specifically needing to log online, I took the elevator to the 2nd floor to their computer lab. Once there, I explained to the librarian that I needed to use a computer and after providing basic contact information, I took care of what I needed and was on my way. Overall, the "Wilmington Public Library" is one of two libraries in the Wilmington area (the other being the North Wilmington Branch on N. Market St). This area is convenient, quiet, and took care of the services that I needed. With that said and done, I am giving this library an above average four stars.

This was my 1st visit here and I had a nice time. The library is inviting and there are lots of…read moreactivities and events year round. The staff is really friendly and happy to assist. They have hosted many Community events free!

Terrific community college located in Wilmington Delaware. I earned my associates in human services…read moreas well as drug and alcohol counseling. The internships were terrific. The teachers are top notch. The East Building of the Wilmington Campus is completely remodeled and looks great.

I had no idea about the college enrollment process. One day, I got on the website for Delaware…read moreTech and emailed a random person asking them the process for enrolling at Delaware Tech. Mrs. Bernat emailed me back and told me to call her. This wonderful lady explained the step by step enrollment process. Because she was so kind and eager to help me, I enrolled in fall semester of 2012. I filled out an admissions form online. I called to schedule a placement test. After the placement test, I spoke to a college advisor that helped me choose my classes. My college advisor, Mr. Handling, is wonderful. Mr. Handling has taken the time to understand my educational needs, which has made my transition to college much easier. He has guided me in choosing the appropriate classes for my major. This summer, I decided to take summer classes. Mr. Handling advised me that summer math classes required lots of work in a short period of time. He suggested that I only take two classes this semester. I am so glad I listened to him. The college advisors at Delaware Tech truly care about the academic success of the students that seek their guidance. My most challenging class was my math class this summer. I could not have passed my math class if it was not for my previous math teacher Marney and my current teacher Amanda. In addition, there is a wonderful group of tutors at the Math Success Center. I spent my summer at the Math Success Center being tutored by Marty, Chelsea, Rich, Kyle, Paul and Sam. I was really struggling to learn algebra, however, with the help and encouragement of all the staff members at the center I passed my class. I could not thank the math center staff enough for their dedication and determination to see me and other students do well in class. They truly do care and strive to help everyone that enters the Math Success Center. The service is free and worth taking advantage of. I am truly grateful and appreciate every person that has sat with me and encourage me at the Math Success Center. I truly love being a student at Delaware Tech. The teachers and staff are super friendly. The College student body is very diverse. There are many non-traditional college students such as myself. I was scared to be the oldest person in class. It is wonderful being in a class with people as young as 18 and old enough to be a grandparent. I truly love Delaware Tech!
