Powers IoT was sub contracted by On Tech (Google's service provider for Nest products installation). So, On Tech handled scheduling, billing etc. I wanted a professional to install my Nest thermostat because there was no C wire and I was unsure of the wiring at the furnace. My technician was Garrett. He arrived on time and was very friendly and courteous! He first spent some time trying to understand the current setup. Then, he walked me through the C wire installation and informed me why it would be hard to do in my situation. I had ordered a Venstar Add A Wire to avoid having to run a new wire and told Garrett about it. He was pleasantly surprised to learn about it and was very willing to figure out how to install it (he did have to get his manager's approval which went through just fine). The installation went smoothly. One thing to highlight is his attention to detail: Nest guides you through a test of the system - Garrett completed that but then also did a test of his own by turning the thermostat all the way and down and stayed near the vents to make sure warm/cold air was blowing! He then shared his cell phone number and offered after install support if things start acting up (wow!). He had forgotten to install the faceplate behind the thermostat (He wasn't aware mine came with one - newer ones don't) - he offered to speckle the holes left behind by the previous thermostat (again, wow!). Overall, A+ experience for the price I paid. The world needs more technicians like Garrett.

The next day I got an invoice for $75.00 just for showing up! This was in no way explained to me up front. After a discussion with my contact over the phone, I was told it's in the fine print (of a document I never saw) so essentially I was screwed. Deceptive business practices. Would have given 0 stars if possible.
