What happened, happened, and its over and done with. The pictures sent to you were from me not the movers. You really have no clue what your talking about its all just CYA and placing blame. The full name being New 4 Fine Fine Consignment, this store has grown since I moved here in 2014 and made the first of my purchases. It is a consignment store and pieces range from antique to modern and pretty much includes anything and everything in between. The store is now approximately 6,000 square feet and is chock full of furniture, accent pieces and wall decorations. They now, in their expanded facility, have a couple of Dealer Spaces, but the owner pretty much handles any in-store inquiries you may have. Speaking of which, despite the fact that it had been 2 or 3 years since I last visited, the store owner remembered me. And, quite honestly, I have not purchased that much: a beautiful chest of drawers, an older oak plant table, a maple antique-ish desk (which I actually took to another work location), and a foot stool. That memory of visitors scores high marks in my book. This trip I was in the market for a small desk. And, New 4 You had just the one I wanted. Once I found it the deal was struck in less than a minute. The space is quite clean and, despite the ample number of items for sale, is quite orderly and easy to navigate. Grab a complimentary Cup 'o Joe and meander through the space. You never know, you might find something you really want but, until that moment, you did not realize it. In reading other reviews yourr response is the consignor is the agressor when in fact it is the other way around once anyone questions a discrepancy... and no you do not provide a clear accounting/pricing. Its always""going to be emailed" and never is.. and then you come up with inconsistent timeframes in which these types of things are processed....but again not recieved. This is my last response to your attempt to attribute negative reviews as coming from trolls and cohorts. My goal is just to encourage future consignors to get items priced in writing at the time they LEAVE them and RELENTLESSLY demand monthly statements from the get go.. rather than believe your fake excuses. I do wonder the same things as some previous consigners have noted. I too consigned with this store 2 years ago. I had a very similar story. When the check was issued I questioned the amount as it was so low. I was told that it was a mistake on asked me to come back for another check. Which I did. At that time I still had one item that was left in the store. As it had been over the time limit I questioned it as the item was still in the store. I was told as it is such an unusual piece it was okay to left it over the time limit. I inquired the next month as I had not heard from them. The piece had disappeared with no explanation nor any payment. Was a little shady deal for me so I go else where to consign. read more

WARNING TO CONSIGNORS: Get a contract! As a saleman, Joel was always super friendly and helpful, so I thought of him first when I decided to sell a sofa in June 2021. After verbally agreeing on a price of $900, I asked about a contract, but Joel said something to the effect of "Don't worry about it, it's all done online". Since my previous interactions with him had been positive, I let it slide, believing that he was a trustworthy businessman. He told me the sofa sold within a couple weeks and he would send out checks on the fifth of the July. I didn't received a check, so I inquired about it and he said didn't actually get paid for the sofa until several weeks later because it was on hold. (why wasn't that made clear to me when he told me it "sold"?) He then told me he would send out the check on the fifth of August. Still no check that month. This time he said he now realized he had the wrong address on the envelope. After calling the store several times and getting an answering machine, my husband and I confronted him in person at the store. At this point he informed me he had reduced the price on the sofa to $700. This was the first time I had heard of the price being reduced, which is against his policy (shown on his website) of reducing the price only if the item is still on the floor after a month. I finally got paid in September, after having a huge argument in his store about why it took him so long to pay me. I read another review that referred to Joel and a "Jekyll and Hyde" and this description rings true for me. I hesitated to write this review because I noticed Joel refutes every negative review, but I felt compelled to warn anyone who is considering consigning with Joel. read more

My wife and I ventured in to look for a dining set for our patio as we had done in a few other shops that day. What made this experience so much nicer and valuable was the owner, Joel. Joel is an affable guy if you are looking to buy or consign an item. However, if you are a consignor, I'm telling you to stay on top of him on the 5th of every month to see if your merchandise has sold. If you do not, you will likely wait a very long time, if not forever, to get your money. He uses excuse after excuse. "Oh you have to check back with us periodically, as some sometimes people move." Really Joel, I have to check back with you periodically to get my check? I consigned and sold two larger furniture groups at The Missing Piece, and I didn't have to periodically check back with them. They simply sent me a check in the mail in a timely manner. Joel sold my merchandise in March. It took until August, and three trips to his store for me to get a check. Claimed he sent me a check in May. I said I got no check. His reply was "I'm not the postal service." Yeah, Joel, I've only lived at that address for 35 years. I'm sure it was the postal service's fault I never got your check. The Missing Piece had no problem sending me two checks, but whatever Joel. Looking at the reviews with poor ratings, they are all from consignors. read more

The owner Joel was so nice. I was looking for a few vintage items for a styled shoot and he was very friendly recommending items, offering water, and just provided great customer service overall. The store has a lot of stuff, but nice stuff! I don't even know why I wasted my last Saturday at the flea market looking for items and almost died in the heat, when I could've just come to this nice and clean air conditioned store with quality items. The store and content was good. The problem I had was with very poor customer service. I saw an item in the store and called to have it shipped to an address within 15 miles of the store. I paid with a credit card and the item with shipping was 30 dollars. I have emails to support that the expectation was it would be shipped out the next day. Two days later I got an email saying it was shipped. One week later the items still didn't arrive! A couple days later I get an email that Joel forgot to put the apartment number on it and it would be reshipped the next day. Clearly it would have arrived if sent properly but I understand mistakes do happen. Still, there would be nobody to receive this package for almost 2 months so I told him to cancel resending it and just refund money. THEN he told me (after already emailing that it would ship the next day) that it was already shipped! So was it really or did he just want to force me to buy after our agreement had been breached? I insisted that my money be refunded and I didn't want it now and he argued with me for 10 minutes on the telephone! He insisted it was already sent. He finally did refund my money and i assured him that it would be returned when someone got back into the state. It gets worse......so feeling badly that the item would sit for 2 months before being returned to the store (he said it was a consignment item and I didn't want the owner to be out because of our disagreement) i started sending someone over to the mail box to check for the item to return it. My friend who lives in Dunedin drove clear to Tampa twice looking for the package but it never came!!!! so I emailed Joel again and expressed my concern...was it really sent? THEN he said he was able to save it from being sent. So he didn't tell me and my friend drove back and forth trying to do the right thing for the consignor when in fact I do not believe it was ever sent in the first place and certainly never sent the second time....even though he said it was already sent and did not want to refund my money. this is my only experience with this store. At the very least, even if it was one big comedy of errors, the customer service was terrible. He is nice if it all goes well and since this one did not, I saw a side i did not appreciate. I will sooner go somewhere else who deserves my hard earned money. read more
