We are always given a snobby attitude, if acknowledged at all by the woman that's always working (the one with the attitude that is almost laughable considering how she presents herself as though she just gave birth, rolled out of bed, and went to work). Now, after seeing her disgusting, bigoted, uneducated social media posts (now deleted) about hurricane Helene's devastating damage and how they made it about racism and politics. This place cannot close soon enough! That way, she can go back to being a miserable bored housewife and allow real, professional shop owners to thrive.

Considering most of the furniture is old/used/re-purposed, the prices they're asking are retail for brand-new stuff. I get that people put their hard work and energy into fixing stuff up, but there has to be a balance. Overall, it really is an ADORABLE shop. It's decently sized and there's plenty to see. In fact, I'm guessing you probably miss seeing half the stuff because there's SO much! You could almost walk through each section twice just to be sure you saw everything! If I were in the area I would stop by again and see if I found anything I loved. Definitely check it out for yourself, and make your own opinion. You may just find something amazing. I have significant sensitivities to fragrances and chemicals, which can make furniture shopping challenging. Angelena went above and beyond to help us find solutions that would work for my situation. She listened carefully to my concerns, and even worked with the manufacturer to make special accommodations for my furniture prior to delivery. At every stage, I felt like she genuinely cared about helping us create a home we could enjoy. That level of service is rare these days. Another thing that impressed us is the quality of the furniture itself. So much furniture today looks good in a showroom but is ultimately made from engineered materials that simply don't hold up over time. The pieces we purchased from Coastal are solid wood, beautifully finished, and built to be used and enjoyed for many years. Although the initial investment may be higher than some alternatives, this is heirloom-quality furniture that becomes part of your home for the long haul, not something you'll be replacing in a few years. The seat sags and I have to use an additional cushion. (I weigh 240 lbs but I'm 6' 3" so that shouldn't be an issue.) From day one, I've been sweeping up stuffing from under the couch. Last night, the recliner broke. It no longer stays closed, the foot rest is always out. Total garbage, poorly made, and overpriced. Years ago, when I was in my 20s, I bought a living room set from a traveling furniture salesman whose showroom was in a hotel conference room. I paid less than 1/2 of what I paid for this couch. That furniture remained in like-new condition until I sold it 15 years later. Yep, inexpensive furniture from a fly by night traveling furniture company lasted AT LEAST 5 times longer than a couch from a "reputable" company. Absolutely pathetic! I will never again shop at Badcock.

It's a really cool good size shop in a small plaza with parking. Bonus is that across the street is where the historical Kapok Tree Inn is located.
