This remains one of my favorite bars in Louisville - amazing cocktail program, quirky ambience and decent prices for the quality.

Not a traditional cocktail place we were expecting but were pleasantly surprised ! This place has a cool vibe ! The owners make their own cocktails (and name them too) and were very welcoming . I ordered the bourbon cocktail (Harley 99 ) which had cherry , cacao and vermouth. It was a strong drink but was well made . I'd recommend the Bottle Rocket if you're looking for a sweeter drink as it has biscotti and espresso along with bourbon and scotch. We enjoyed hanging out at the bar and walked around the place which has plenty of art for sale . This is place is in the suburbs but still 10-15 minute drive from downtown. I would recommend this place if you're looking for good cocktails at a hipster casual place.

My husband and I decided to check out NSD after going to dinner nearby. We weren't sure what to expect, but enjoyed our time. The bar has local artists art which they sell and artist gets 100% of the money, so we thought that was a neat element. Also enjoyed playing pinball, but wish it didn't cost $1 for each game. The bartender was super friendly and helpful. My husband and I each ordered two drinks, which added up cost wise quickly. My favorite was the OMG. You can tell the work they put into making each drink as they each have their own unique presentation. Music was a little loud, so definitely not a place to go to sit and chat easily. Probably wouldn't be a place we would go on the regular, but maybe every once and a while.

Came on a Saturday night around 630. Wasn't too busy. I bet it's a lot cooler when the sun goes down cuz they've got all sorts of lights and decor that looks glow in the dark. Service at the bar was helpful and prompt. Drinks were awesome. Not sure how often they change their drink menu? But there was plenty on there to choose from. I started with the Country Loves Breakfast- which was incredibly smoky, sweet and fat. I only wished the Eggo waffle garnish was crispier- but they did have maple syrup on it! My date had the T-Bird, which I didn't try. It was gorgeous though. Our second round was The Pink Lady- how do they make that blackberry honey foam?!?! So fun. So tasty. Drinking it without a straw is a challenge and messy but worth it. The Norman's Tribute reminded me of Thai tea for sure, with a rum base and spice. Pretty good. Come comfortable. We were too dressed up, but then again, we were headed to a fancy dinner after. But I found that sitting on those stools with no foot rest on the bar area or the bourbon barrel tables was difficult in high heels. It's a drafty place, so bring a jacket. I was grateful for my shawl- used it as a blanket. Cool art, some of which you can buy. Little trinkets and t shirts etc, for purchase. Got some Valentine's Day macarons for $6. Pretty tasty! Didn't go upstairs. Too risky in the heels lol. But i hear there's a shop up there. Two bathrooms. Street parking. Can't wait to come back and get more cocktails!

This cute art gallery has some great cocktails. It can be a fairly intimate setting for drinks before or after a dinner date, which is what I used it for. I'll definitely be stopping by more often because such care is taken when crafting each cocktail. Ingredients are so fresh. This is a must experience in the heart of st matts

Incredible. Incredible. Incredible. My friends and I each tried different drinks. They each were AMAZING. This is quickly going to become a new haunt of mine. The bartender was super friendly and the vibe is cool and artistic. I love that they support local artists and have items for sale. The upstairs is super cool and offers many thrifted items.

Cocktails. Art. And shopping. It seems to be one of the newest bar in at Mathews yet the most funkiest ! Loved stoping in this place on a Friday afternoon. The place was quit yet alive with its interior decor. The bartender was attentive and helpful with drink suggestions. Don't miss the second floor thrift shop they have some finds you don't want to miss.

Very casual atmosphere. I would dress "comfy cute" This place is pretty new I think. The bartender was super friendly and seemed happy to have us there. There is an art gallery on the top floor where you can purchase art and all the proceeds go to the artists. Our drinks were SO GOOD. I'm not sure why but I really have been wanting to go back just for the drinks and I don't even live in Louisville. They're made perfectly with the perfect amount of alcohol and mix. Will definitely return. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because when we went there weren't many people, I'd like to see what it's like when it's more full.

I can't believe no one else has rated this?? A friend of mine recommended it to me as a place to go try. I'm pretty sure they just opened, but I bet this place is going to explode once it's discovered. The drinks were phenomenal!! Small but mighty menu. There were some unique drinks on the menu you won't find anywhere else. Cant wait to go back and try more!

Such a cool vibe here! I had never been to Never Say Die but drive past it all the time, so my friends and I stopped by and we really enjoyed our time! I got the Pretty Boy cocktail and it was so refreshing. Their drink list all sounded delicious, so I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more! Tons of local art and vintage goods for sale there too, which was super cool.

My boyfriend and I went here on a whim one night, and I'm so glad we did! I think Never Say Die has some of the most fun and unique cocktails to choose from. The bartenders definitely know what they're doing, and they're also very friendly and personable. I really enjoyed sitting at the bar! I also very much enjoyed the Country Loves Breakfast cocktail -- made with bacon fat washed bourbon, maple Belgian waffle extract, almond, egg white, and hickory smoke. Loved everything about this place!

Love having a new addition to St. Matthews. Nothing beats being able to walk from your house to a place for a few drinks. I first got Normans Tribute and then tried What's the skinny. What's the skinny was by far my favorite out of the two. My husband got TTR-90 and the hondamatic. These drinks are so creative and very tasty. I do think a little overpriced for the size. Considering they are small I'm not sure there's much alcohol in them. But regardless they are one of a kind and so so good!

The lounge seating setup was a little unconventional, but the staff quickly accommodated us when I mentioned a concern, which I really appreciated. The service was outstanding. I wish I could remember our server's name because he truly made the experience. He handled the entire lounge area by himself and never missed a beat -- personable, knowledgeable, attentive, and incredibly efficient. We ordered a few cocktails along with the hush puppies, Cajun calamari, and Brussels sprouts. The drinks were fantastic, and while the appetizers were good, they weren't quite memorable enough for us to reorder next time. That said, we're definitely planning to come back and explore more of the menu. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend checking out Black Rabbit for yourself. It's a great spot for either a romantic date night or a fun evening out with friends.

Since this restaurant has a speakeasy vibe, I thought it might be part of the schtick. However, I'm not sure how long the business has been open, so maybe the GPS was accurate. Our dinner host who made the reservation had told our group the "password" in order to be taken to our private dining room. When I arrived and approached the hostess stand, she took me via a convoluted route to the rest of the diners, no password required. I guess I was lucky because other diners in our group said they had to provide the password. We arrived during happy hour and it was also martini night, so several items from the appetizer menu (wings, spinach dip, tempura shrimp) and cocktail list were available for reduced price. I ordered tempura shrimp (5 pieces) and a glass of Malbec. The shrimp were bland and were served with a sweet chili sauce that was cloyingly sweet with absolutely no heat. I ended up ordering a bourbon roasted pear salad as my main. It was a better choice with buttery lettuce, chunks of firm pear, crunchy walnuts, and pickled red onions. One of my fellow diners had to wait for her first course appetizer to arrive well after the rest of us had finished ours, as it was either overlooked by waitstaff or the kitchen. Service was slow at times, although the place appeared at not even 1/2 capacity when we arrived and possibly 2/3 when we left 2 hours later. Another diner ordered pizza and said that the toppings were good, but commented that the texture of the crust (underdone) made it unpalatable. Finally, another person in our group had to send her food back to be heated. She indicated the plate was warm, but the food (pot roast Manhattan) was not. Final bill was just under $50 (happy hour shrimp $10, wine $11, salad $18, and an automatic 20% gratuity had been added). Upon reflection, I would perhaps return here for a cocktail to enjoy the lounge and live jazz when that is offered. I would be very hard pressed though to order any food, as there are many more valuable and appealing options nearby at this price point.

One Sunday afternoon we had a free time in our schedule and decided Prova would be our destination. We arrived shortly after they opened and were greeted by a festively decorated space that immediately set the mood. The friendly bartender welcomed us, and we took seats at the bar. After looking over the Christmas drink menu, I went with the Yippee-Ki-Cocoa Motherf**er--and wow, it was incredible. Made with truffle bourbon, chocolate amaro, cocoa, and topped with whipped cream and popcorn butter dust, it was hands-down delicious. My wife chose the Zabaione eggnog and reluctantly let me have a taste--it was excellent as well. From the Hemingway's Holiday Spain to the Gingerbread Man-Hatten, every drink we tried was fantastic. They were out of a couple of items, but that barely put a dent in our options. And I can't forget to mention our bartender--he was outstanding: knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. We're already looking forward to going back and ordering from their standard menu.

I've been a few times now and it's always very chill and relaxing, and I love the music selection. When you walk in the plant shop is in the front and the bar is in the back. I recommend heading to the bar, grabbing a delicious hand crafted cocktail and relaxing for a bit. However if you're super eager to shop grab a cocktail to enjoy while you walk around the store. I've only ever had the Carajillo bc it's so damn good. It's light, refreshing and delicious. It consists of dark matter cold brew, Licor 43, Paranubes Cafe de Olla, Alma Tepec pasilla chile liqueur, hazelnut, cinnamont. They have the best mezcal by the bottle selection which I believe you can purchase some online. While sitting at the bar, I noticed all the bottles neatly displayed on the shelf behind the bar and none of the labels are ones I've ever seen before. In addition to being able to shop for plants, they also offer Plant workshops that you can sign up for online! Some of the workshops include a price for two people so pay attention to what you're signing up for. And if you happen to get hungry and need a snack, they also offer a few light bar snacks that consists of chips and salsa, spicy oaxacan peanuts, spicy pickled carrots, and Nemi Mexican lime crunchy snack.

Behind the lush greenery and unassuming storefront is Pretty Decent, a mezcal bar that's anything but "pretty decent"--it's ridiculously cool. My only regret is that I didn't get more pictures to share because this place is very cool. But I was enjoying myself too much to be bothered with my phone. The vibe? Immaculately chill. Moody lighting, thoughtful design, and a playlist that makes you want to stay all night. It's the kind of place that feels like a secret you're lucky to be in on. We started with a Paloma recommended by Ethan (bartender and apparently low-key rockstar). It was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and an excellent recommendation.. We chatted mezcal, music, and more--Ethan's the kind of bartender who makes you feel like a regular on your first visit. Got to talk mezcal with the owner, John, who's clearly passionate and seriously knowledgeable. He shared stories about sourcing, traveling, and working directly with producers. Learned more in 10 minutes from him than I have from any spirit tasting I've done. Super generous with his time and samples, which led to me walking out with a bottle of Espadín, an agave spirit, I'm now obsessed with. You don't find places like this often. It's got soul, character, and people who actually care about what they're doing. Come for the plants, stay for the mezcal. Pretty Decent? Nah--Pretty Damn Exceptional.
