Being a block off…read moreVaihinger Straße makes it pretty convenient to get to, and perhaps a little easier to park near than if it was right on Vaihinger Straße (speculation on my part though, I walked). This part of Mohringen seems to have plenty of places to eat, and Lindenhof is certainly a good choice.
It's taken some getting used to on my part to just walk in and take a seat, but German restaurants don't have hostesses, and once you take a seat a server will be over sooner or later. For my mid-week lunch, the server showed up quickly enough, as did my food, but it got busier and she was by herself, so the check took a little longer. Overall the service was pretty typical for Germany.
As far as food goes, I wasn't feeling too adventurous, so it was just jagerschnitzel and spaetzle for me. The jagerschnitzel was perfectly good; plenty of pork, nice and tender, with a sauce that was flavorful and rich without being too thick. The spaetzle was fine, but not the best I've had. Rather than being served under the pork and sauce it was in a side dish, and for some reason I had a heck of a time trying to get it out and eat it without getting it all over the place. That said, I did like the touch of cinnamon sugar on top, which isn't something I've seen before.
Overall I had quite a nice lunch at Lindenhof, and if I was back in the area I'd be perfectly willing to go again.
