The front desk staff was kind enough to speak English with me while I learned German. I had a junior suite which has a separate room with a large bed. There is a fold out sofa bed in the main area. There is a small room with kitchen sink, microwave, and refrigerator. If you are hoping for a cooktop or oven there isn't one. The sunset view from the balcony is nice. I brought one cat with me. I did see other guests with dogs. The hotel prepared a litter box, food dishes, and a cat tree for my furry friend! Keep in mind that the hotel asks that your pets be in their travel kennels on cleaning days twice per week. The hotel had recently changed ownership and there was a lot of construction. However, noise was limited to certain hours of the day. Some guest service was affected. For example guest laundry was not available and breakfast had limited space. Breakfast was an extra fee but reasonable and had a good variety of choices. Location is right across the street from Salzäcker U-bahn. From there you can catch the U3 to Möhringen then the U5/6/12 to Stuttgart city center (Charlottenplatz/Schlossplatz/Hauptbahnhof). Grab the VVS app for purchasing ride tickets from your phone. Hotel is walking distance to Kelly Barracks. Several restaurants in the immediate area, two stage theaters, and a cinema. Some of the shopping and dining is a little hidden behind and underneath the Palladium theater. Also there is a carpeted pedestrian tunnel that goes underneath the street and connects the two stage theaters to parking. A little farther out there are more local restaurants. A Kaufland is two stops away on the U3 toward Möhringen for everyday shopping.

Just remember, it meets European standards, not US so there is no alarm/clock, and European outlets (so you will need to have adapters). PRO: * Bar - awesome selection made even better by the bartender, Steve who goes out of his way to be hospitable and makes awesome drinks * Property is awesome - bathroom is tiled, and in efficient German manner, the hot water pipes are under them so the floor is warm * Breakfast has a great mix of traditional European fare (cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, bread, muesli) as well as some American style fare (eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.) and coffee machine that provides various selection from expresso, cappuccino, latte, etc. * Spacious room with a separate living room area, bedroom, kitchen - my suite had three televisions, living room, bedroom, and even the batroom! CON: * No gym on site - you will need to go across the street to the KANTO Medical & Figure Lounge located on the second floor. NOTE: Bring a towel from the hotel or have cash (Euros) on hand or you will not be allowed to work out. The gym is more a "posh" spa/gym with lots of exercise machines and equipment. Work outs may not be the main focus as carpet and not the standard rubberized flooring covers the weight room area. Another limiting factor is that the operating hours is 1000-2200 (10pm). * Parking stalls are a bit tight so be aware - when leaving the garage after hours (early or late), the door will be closed, pull the rope to activate the door to open * The entrance to the property is not via the main road, but via a back entrance that is a bit confusing. Driving to property will take some map skills, or great map app (I used Waze), my colleagues another app - I did not have any issues. A definite property to stay when staying in Stuttgart, especially since its close to the airport.

Despite it's diminutive size though, they put out some good swabian food. The menu isn't terribly long, but they do have a decent list of daily specials, which we had success with. While they have copies of the menu itself in english, the daily specials will be verbally translated, not written down. The server's english on both visits was perfectly good, which is good since my German is extremely limited (schnitzel, brautwurst, currywurst, hefeweizen, and pils are about it). As far as food goes, the smoked salmon entree was a generous portion of smoked salmon, and the warm potato hash brown underneath it made it heartier than just a plate of smoked salmon. It seems like maultaschen is the best way to judge a swabian restaurant, so I went with that and was quite happy with it, although my favorite that I've had so far was at Gaststatte zum Paulaner in downtown. I also really appreciate that most of the meals here come with a side salad, and they dress it more with vinegar than with oil, so it feels more refreshing than most side salads in the US. We took a taxi van from Strasbourg to Baden Baden and paid an 85 euro flat rate, it was slightly over a 30 minute ride. We asked the front desk to arrange a transfer back to Strasbourg rail station which they did. I asked them what the fare would be and was advised it would be whatever the meter said but cant be more than 125 euros. The meter was set and when we arrived at the station it read 97 but he pushed a button and it went too 200 euros. I said we would not pay that and the driver threatened to call the police. I immediately called the hotel and spoke with Constantine who arranged the ride and advised him of my situation and he refused to get involved. My MIL and Aunt told me to just pay and figure it out later. I emailed the Constantine and asked him for help and he said there is nothing he can do since its a third party even though he arranged it. I then emailed the GM Marcel Heid. He offered very little assistance saying the taxi company isnt responding to them and from now on they will only use well known taxi companies and told me he would deposit 10000 Bonvoy points which we still haven't received. They set this ride up and let us be taken advantage of by the taxi company that they set up for us. My mother and I spent over 500euros for one night at this hotel - we asked Marcel to take some responsibility in this and refund us 100 euros which is what we expected to pay. He declined stating he cant be responsible for third parties and wont respond to my emails now. So we've now been scammed by the taxi company that they set up and they just wash their hands, promise 10k bonvoy points and don't even follow through with that. Be leery abut reserving this hotel.
