A good selection of Smoked/Nova Salmon also. As they are close to my usual hotel, this location is perfect for any forgotten travel items and snacks. They do have self serve checkout and are good about opening up more check out lanes when busy. Good to check hours as they are usually open even if the mall is closed. (I.e. they were open on the most recent Bank Holiday.). They do have a separate entrance at the back of the mall. Conveniently located close to the train and bus stations, this is the spot for your grocery needs while in Hyllie.

Everything in here reminds me of those giant "hypermarkets" chains that we have in Indonesia. Rows and rows of different vegetables, a huge cool section for meat, their own fishmongers and butchers - and so many different brands and even for people with allergy or just vegans. Swedish supermarkets know to cater them all. My favourite buys from this place? The fresh Asian veggies, the seafood and the cheese in tubes... and oh, the Swedish prepackaged meatballs. I was skeptical when I first went to this supermarket since it looks so shabby and without hardly any windows on the outside, but once you get in, you realise that it's one of those big supermarkets that are pretty much sell everything that you need. Vegetables, organic vegetables (ekologiska, obviously), fish, tons of fish, cheese, butter, meat, gluten free and lactose free products (since we're talking about Sweden) and other household stuff. They have also aisles for imported products - I saw a lot of obscure products in Slavic languages, Reeses peanut butter chocolates and Guiness chips and some fancy microwave popcorn. They have also pretty decent aisle full of Asian stuff, including bambooshoots in cans - that pretty much exist only in Asian shops in Copenhagen. They have good brand of coconut milk (not just the weird Santa Maria or whatever it is called now), rice noodles, egg noodles and pakchoy on the vegetable rack. Ah Sweden, you're the best when it comes to supermarket. Danish ones can't really beat it, not even big warehouse-like one like Bilka. The location is pretty convenient as well, just across Värnhem, sort of smaller bus station where you do your switches if you are not lucky enough to ride buses without change from/to home/work. I am also surprised by how much stuff they have for pets. Of course with all Swedish supermarkets, the alcohol department is lacking. The price is in line with ICA, maybe some things are a little more expensive, but Coop seems to have more variety.

This teeny tiny store houses the best selection of Greek food in Malmö. The owners (a married…read morecouple) have run the store for decades. You feel like coming home to a couple of friends upon entering. The lady recognises you and if you have kids with you they always get to taste an olive of a dried apricot. If you like me love to spend summer weeks in Greece you'll recognise a lot of the brands in the store as you pick out the perfect piece of feta cheese or the plumpest olives or some of Vaia's home made phyllo pastries. Highly recommended. Bring cash because they don't take charge cards.
