I've come here a handful of times to meet up with friends and talk, always buying either something to drink or eat (though the vegan offerings are admittedly slim and my server has, in the past, not known whether the soup was vegan or not, which is bad form, but whatever)... Today, immediately after ordering coffee, my companion and I were scolded for having brought our own tap water in water bottles, and asked to put them away. Are you kidding me? In a city full of restaurants that roll their eyes when you ask for tap water, or ignore you and pretend they didn't hear your request, I have found it's much easier to just bring my own in my Nalgene, which I take just about everywhere. But here I am being told I can't have my own water in the restaurant? That's unusual, to say the least. Minutes later, I was astounded once again when our coffee was served, and we weren't even given the customary water to accompany it. I really like the feel of this cafe and hate to be indignant over something so little, but if I am going to be treated that way, there are plenty of other cafes in Wrangelkiez that I can give my business to. read more

This highly recommended establishment was just okay. In the warmer months when the weather allows you to sit outside, I am sure I would have enjoyed it more. The decor is pretty neat and they had all of the standard breakfast options. As I was only in Germany for a few days, I went with the weisswurst and bretzl - it was good, not overly impressed. My eggs Florentine were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce yummy, could have used a little more pepper. We asked for some and it never came My friend had cheesy scrambled eggs and they were that. It was A very disappointing / uninspired dish, served with some dry lettuce and dry white sliced toast. Have had lunch here twice. First time I had the most amazing salmon I might of ever eaten! Sooo DELISIOUS! Their lunches come with a lovely salad and bread. Quite cheap too. Second time I tried a beetroot gnocchi which too was great. Hey also have brunch buffet during the weekend which I've yet not tried. Cosy inside. Like! We had the Sunday brunch which was quite good but relatively expensive. They mostly serve vegetarian food and it can be a healthy option for a Sunday morning. The cold latte was good and the bread spreads were delicious. read more

Terrible, unfriendly service. We booked a table for two and upon arrival, they gave us a big table, which we later realized was a table for four. The waitress then proceeded to get mad at us for seating us at a table that was too large -- excuse me, but I didn't ask for a table for four, you gave it to us! I'm never coming back. read more

1 star for the co-working space. If you're interested in the food: It's a good (and busy) place - would come again for brunch/coffee/cake. If you're interested in the co-working space or conference room: DO NOT COME HERE. They charge for a full day, even if you arrive at noon (no pre-booking). It's super noisy. Nothing against children yelling and crying, and people talking loudly in a restaurant. But if you offer desks as well, you better make sure the office door can keep the noise out. Food is good, service however is very bad! Not customer focused at all: first, waiter screams from behind the bar to our table to ask what we want to drink with the most bad-mood-face there is. Hell doesn't seem to enjoy his job at all. Second, all the drinks and dishes are almost 'smashed' passive-aggressively on the table. And last but not least, while we - despite these bad customer experiences- we were actually still having a good time and a good (normal) laugh, while drinking our coffee after our diner, we were asked by the waiter if we could be 'less loud' with the argument that our neighbours left because they thought it was too loud. Excuse me, maybe this was just their problem, as others didn't seem to mind?! Nevertheless, the waiters themselves were not less loud than we were (e.g. the screaming from behind the bar to take the order??), so maybe the complaint was towards the restaurant itself. Although the food was delicious, I'm never coming to this place again. One sidenote, only one waiter (with the knot on his head) was really nice! He sat at our table to take the order, made jokes and really gave good and normal attention. Too bad his colleagues ruined his tip. read more

Arrived early, place was empty. Ordered breakfast & waited 30 minutes to hear that they forgot about us. Took few more minutes to learn that the kitchen was busy & cant make the eggs we ordered. After waisting 40 minutes we went somewhere else. Not recommended ! read more

Really nice location with lots of room, also great for events I assume. Hip place, nice beer, nice wine. Really cute waitress, who told us the only vegan options were the soup and the salad because this was the first day they were serving this particular menu. For the pasta, salad and cold cucumber soup that we ordered, we waited about an hour. In between we did get 4 pieces of delicious bread and a small salad. But that isn't enough ofcourse, we got kind of hangry. We asked how much longer it would take about four times and as I was almost ready to just get up and leave, they brought us the food and apologized. We got beers from the house. The food was delicious and looked good, if the wait hadn't been that long I would totally recommend going out to eat here. read more

Cozy place with a very friendly staff and not so crowded/loud like other cafes/bars/etc at the Schlesische-str. Been there a few times and the dishes/meals are definitely good - plain-jane tasty European "cuisine bourgeoise" :) read more

Service - close to terrible, which is understandable if you pay them accordingly. (I think, I overheard a waitress complaining about her wages of about 7,50 Euro per hour and having to split the Tip with the Kitchen staff?!? Minimum wage in accordance with the local law? Guess Not.) Food looks ok, but I didn´t fancy waiting around 'til they get off their high horse to actually say hello or even provide service. I neither felt welcome nor appreciated as a customer. (getting information on how the coworking space works here, already feels a bit like you're begging for a desk) Another typical - "we obviously don´t really know what we´re actually supposed be doing; so don't ask" - Berlin-Xberg touristy place perfect for your everyday Schwabs and Bavarians. Millions of these little cafés especially around Görlitzer. Don't see a particular reason to come here specifically. Also, I don't reckon any of the patrons here have ever seen what a "co-working-space" usually looks like (in London e.g.), including conveniences. Fazit: If you're German, just moved to Berlin from Hintertupfingen and never lived in or been to any other major city in this world, you'll love this place. we love to come to the Nest . BUT unfortunately today we came across a patronising, obnoxious, chaotic service. in addition to that when we complained about the fact that we were waiting more than an HOUR for our order, we got from the shift manager Daniel an unprofessional, irresponsible answer. in addition to that one of us could get an allergic reaction if she woulnd't pay attention to what she asked NOT to be in the dish. the answer of the Shift manger was : "sometime there are communication problems. ....... The place didn't live up to its hype at all, in fact the service we experienced today was a disaster. The first waiter took our order, we waited a really long time and then she brought the wrong dish for my friend. Instead of the vegetarian dish my friend ordered, she received a dish with meat and was told that the vegetarian option had run out. The waiter brought the menu back and eventually came back so my friend could order something else. In the meantime she brought a free salad which was much appreciated. I ordered the same as the diner beside me but the salad which accompanied my sandwich was only a decoration, whereas the lady next to me received a decent sized salad with hers (exact same order!). I also had to ask for cutlery. I then ordered a coffee from the other waiter and it was promptly forgotten. We asked to pay and that was ignored so we went inside to speed things up. The first waiter had told my friend she'd give her a coffee as an apology for messing up the order and leaving her wait so long, but that wasn't on offer anymore apparently. I tried to discuss this with the waiter but they were both unavailable. I left the exact cash by the register and left. I wont be going back. read more
